Dear Broom Knight

#21 - A pair of fools

Lorri's magic teacher descended from the sky the day after his message reached the capital.

The Earl and Countess Montes' petty schemes were swept away by the arrival of the Chief Court Archmage, the King's uncle, upon the White Dragon.

The Court Archmage could fly on their own or directly use spatial gates. Therefore, being brought by the White Dragon proved that this was the King's will.

Given the Earl and Countess Montes' background, neither of them could voice any disagreement.

The only one in agony was Lorri, who greeted his teacher on the messy construction site.

It wasn't that he was suffering because he was forced to serve the Kingdom of the North.

Lorri didn't mind building awakening magic arrays for the Kingdom of the North after completing his studies… Generally speaking, this was the limitation that all major kingdoms placed on their mages.

Those Court Archmages who needed to be stationed in the capital year-round were there because all their magical resources came from the royal family's support.

As for someone like Lorri, who had his own territory and resources, and only received a seemingly large but ultimately insignificant annual allowance from the royal family, naturally, there weren't so many restrictions.

Unless the nation was in a life-or-death crisis, he wouldn't be required to go to the battlefield.

Moreover, even Court Archmages could move freely outside of their rotation period.

Lorri's teacher was constantly traveling to various strange corners in search of the mage relics in his heart.

Furthermore, because he was relatively old, with his youngest student being the same age as Lorri's mother, he was clearly unfamiliar with the learning progress of children.

After confirming that Lorri's mental power was sufficient and that the inherited mage foundation was very detailed… more detailed than what he taught himself, he waved his hand, left a large amount of homework, and turned to leave.

Although he hadn't completely stopped coming in the past two years, when he did come, it was to check Lorri's homework, spend a few days clarifying doubts for Lorri, correcting some of Lorri's misunderstandings, and then leave a pile of homework before patting his butt and leaving.

The total time Lorri spent with him hadn't even reached three months.

But the amount of homework he received was probably enough for other mages to study for five years!

Fortunately, although he was lazy and scatterbrained, he was quite generous.

After confirming that there were no problems with Lorri's Living Feathers, he scoured quite a few graded magic feathers for Lorri.

Moreover, he specifically opened a special oddity class for Lorri… Amulets.

If you want to make the Living Feathers advance better, using feather amulets on them at critical moments will yield more perfect results.

Lorri stared at the small box, its aura tightly sealed by him, and walked into his castle, which had been completed and was now being fitted with interior decorations.

In the castle, the only rooms that were completely decorated were the large study and alchemy lab in the right tower, under layers of protection.

These were completed with the help of his teacher, who took time out of his busy schedule to help Lorri… of course, Lorri provided all the materials.

Although it was a little funny, Lorri really had a lot of materials, if they weren't all fragmented, his teacher would probably be tempted.

There was no other way, although the mine in his game had been opened, everything other than stone was random, at most there was more iron.

When he left this time, the teacher mentioned that he wanted to return to the capital to see the King and ask for some good things for Lorri… Otherwise, Lorri wouldn't have been sure that he could contact him immediately.

Although he also gave him a feather, Lorri's Living Feathers weren't high enough level, and they couldn't connect to the network from too far away.

Most importantly… Walking into the secret room inside the study, Lorri looked down at the box in his hand and placed it on the small teleportation array… Not all places can easily teleport these things.

Don't look down on Lorri's small teleportation array, which can only teleport things within 20 kilograms, but it consumes a lot of resources.

Although Lorri's teacher would fill in some of it, he couldn't cover everything.

Archmages take students, not ancestors.

But with such a teacher, it was justifiable for Lorri to create this kind of thing.

Moreover, someone who uses a legitimate reason to travel around and doesn't care about anything will definitely not interfere, let alone ask Lorri where all the good things came from.

Lorri was really grateful for the existence of this teacher, and therefore had great goodwill towards the King, and understood why his parents, who had such different personalities, were both loyal to His Majesty the King.

The Living Feathers, which had been following Lorri, flew to the shelf next to the teleportation array and sang softly.

Lorri's game panel reappeared before his eyes, and lines of uninhibited words slowly emerged:

Lorri, catch all the rats hiding in the dark for me!

Don't worry about your idiot father!

His Majesty the King?

The newest novel is first published at Liu 9 Shu Ba!

Lorri couldn't help but frown.

Although Lorri had given a feather to his teacher to bring to His Majesty the King after becoming a disciple, he generally wouldn't disturb the other party except for the occasional two mass messages.

So, the two of them were together now, and the King was very interested in going to the Archmage's residence?

Lorri didn't think that His Majesty the King was really that free.

He probably had received some news a long time ago.

But why was Earl Montes unaware?

Although he was a little confused about family matters, he had a strong control over his territory!

Lorri thought a little confused… Could it be that the second son was really courting death?

He actually believed that it was more likely that his neighbor, Baron Dugan, who had always been ambitious, had secretly supported some evil forces.

However, it was more likely that he was deceived, thinking it was a mafia, but it turned out to be a cult.

Who in their right mind would mix with evil gods?

The righteous gods haven't descended to the mortal world for many years!

What else can evil gods do besides create evil?

Although the second son didn't seem to have any skills, it was still easy to help Dugan cover up some evidence of wrongdoing.

After all, the eldest son owed him too much, and would help him cover up some minor things that didn't seem to affect the overall situation.

Especially those commercial activities that seemed to be just for earning some money for the family separation, the eldest son and his supporters would allow the second son to undermine Earl Montes.

Anyway, Earl Montes wouldn't give them all the money he earned.

And how could Earl Montes not know about things that even Lorri knew?

He was just turning a blind eye.

Another line of words popped up on the panel:

'Investigate it yourself first, don't notify anyone, and seek help from the Chief of Internal Affairs of the Yagris Knights if necessary.

It's best not to tell Yagris either, I suspect there's a problem with the people around her.

That couple, a pair of muddleheads!'
