Dear Broom Knight
#26 - The Second Young Master's Wife Made a Trouble
If shared bloodlines weren't enough for Yagris to trust someone, then growing up together, struggling through the ranks in the army, and carving out their own path in a man's world, was certainly enough for Yagris to never doubt Pat.
And Pat had never betrayed that trust.
For example, the strategic materials sent to Lowry, almost equivalent to the entire wealth of a baron, were all handled by Pat on behalf of Lady Yagris.
And even they themselves couldn't say how many of these secret missions Pat had handled.
Lowry had always treated Pat like his own aunt.
Even now, with this secretive way of speaking, Lowry felt a little sorry for Pat... He should confidently believe that the bond between Pat and his mother was unbreakable and that absolutely no problems could arise.
Then explain everything clearly.
But the words were on the tip of his tongue, yet he still chose to subtly explain his behavior.
There was no other way; if what blinded Count Montes was his two precious sons, whom he had always wholeheartedly loved, then the only person who could cloud Lady Yagris's judgment was Pat... Lowry himself would almost be second to her.
To be honest, before Lowry firmly stood behind her, even if Yagris doted on this son, there were many things she didn't dare to tell him... Even though Count Montes cared least about Lowry, his apparent affection could very likely make Lowry choose to stand on his father's side.
It wasn't until after the awakening formation, after so many things had happened, and Lowry hadn't chosen to side with Count Montes, that Lady Yagris gradually began to shift some of her exclusive assets towards Lowry.
Before that, Lowry didn't even recognize all the members of Lady Yagris's knight order.
But Lowry could understand Yagris's caution... His mother's love wasn't fake.
She was just giving herself some leeway.
Lowry actually felt he was a bit paranoid, but he occasionally wanted to give himself some leeway as well.
In any case, he didn't lie, and he hinted at the existence of some danger.
Pat blinked and nodded, seemingly enlightened: "Ah~ The elders really do think alike; that person's assignment is also testing your combat and leadership skills!"
"However, the teacher's requirements should indeed be completed first, so I'll wait to see your great success!"
With that, Pat could understand.
As for some dark forces, in front of a great mage who was much higher in rank than Yagris, they didn't even count for anything.
Offending them was fine.
Even if they knew the truth, they wouldn't dare to retaliate, even if Lowry advanced this great cleanup by four years from the agreed time.
It was estimated that in that great mage's mind, he had already taken Lowry as a student, and even had him visit often, staying for a month or two from time to time, yet those dark forces were still dragging their feet and refusing to leave.
Since they were so disrespectful, then naturally they deserved to die.
Powerful strength can naturally suppress some underlying rules.
Things that Yagris couldn't do, the great mage could do without even needing to give a heads-up.
Pat pondered for a moment and shook her head: "Lady Yagris might not come; things have been a bit restless on the left wing lately."
Lowry curiously looked up: "What's wrong again?"
"The second young master's wife is finally pregnant, so she's no longer as patient as she used to be.
In the left wing's kitchen... out of ten cooking pots, only two are being used for the second young master's family."
Pat smiled, "That one even said things like why they still weren't being separated out.
She was practically pointing at the eldest son's two sons, saying that they were useless for not becoming knights yet, which made her suffer in such a small room, unable to even eat well."
Lowry was a little puzzled: "The eldest son's two sons haven't advanced yet? How is that possible?
I remember their awakening runes weren't any worse than Cheska's!"
Cheska had already advanced two years ago.
Moreover, although those two children didn't have the best temper, they were quite diligent in their knight training... This was all thanks to Lowry.
They weren't indulging themselves, and their talent wasn't bad, so how could they not have advanced by now?
"It's not impossible to understand," Pat raised her chin, "Otherwise, there's no way to explain it.
Knights aren't like mages who need to comprehend something; when their strength reaches a certain level, and their bloodline isn't bad, advancing is a natural thing."
Lowry nodded, suddenly realizing something: "No wonder."
"What's wrong? Has young master Lowry discovered something?" Pat asked inquisitively.
"My Living Feather has been having some problems these past two days," Lowry said with his arms crossed, looking pensive, "The other day, the children in my territory sent me two rather special feathers.
I checked them, and although they had some divinity, there wasn't anything seriously wrong with them.
But my Living Feather just can't come out."
"How is it now? Is it alright?" Pat asked with concern.
"It's not a big problem, it just needs a few days to digest," Lowry smiled, "Living Feathers are magical creatures; feathers are like food to them, at most they'll have indigestion, but it shouldn't be impossible to digest."
Pat patted her chest in relief: "That's good.
Lady Yagris thinks you can stand on your own two feet because of those little things!
Otherwise, she wouldn't have forced me to quickly send the armor over after discovering that the feathers suddenly lost their luster, in order to inquire about the situation."
Lowry curled his lips: "I'm not just capable of doing things with the Living Feather."
"Of course~" Pat said with a smile, "Our young master Lowry is a great mage!"
"Mama Pat, don't exaggerate so much," Lowry said seriously, "I'm just a second-circle mage, not even close to being a great mage, not even a mid-level mage!"
Pat waved her hand generously: "It's only a matter of time~"
She patted Lowry's shoulder again: "Don't worry, everything will be fine.
Knowing who your teacher is, those people will probably struggle for a bit and then leave.
However, I still have to tell Lady Yagris and see what she thinks.
Lowry, I'm leaving now."
Lowry was a little surprised: "Aren't you staying for a couple of days? Mama Pat, if you're here..."
"What's there to worry about?" Pat said nonchalantly, "The Blades of the Tiger are much more powerful than I am."
