Divine Doctor's Harem

425 You're Asking for a Beating

Having experienced many events and encountered numerous scoundrels and scum, Wang Chao knew all too well that these individuals often spoke one way but acted differently behind the scenes. Their words were as worthless as flatulence, lacking any credibility.

Therefore, when Zhang Shan made his pledge, Wang Chao didn't believe a word he said. People like him would conveniently forget their previous promises once they received the money they wanted.

Zhang Shan, upon hearing Wang Chao's response, became even more convinced that Wang Chao was indeed wealthy and capable of providing the one million needed to repay his debts. He quickly pleaded, "Brother Wang, I promise I'll change and improve myself. I beg you, please help me this one time."

"As long as you assist me, I'll serve you as a servant in return!"

"Do you genuinely intend to repent?" Wang Chao asked.

"Yes, I will definitely repent. I promise," Zhang Shan hurriedly replied.

"If you're truly determined to repent, then I'll give you a choice. Work at my job position for two months, and if you pass the assessment, I'll give you one million," Wang Chao proposed.

"An assessment too?"

Zhang Shan's face immediately darkened, and he angrily exclaimed, "Wang Chao, are you playing games with me?"

"Yes, I am playing games with you. What's the problem?" Wang Chao's eyes turned cold as he stood up.

As he rose, an immensely terrifying aura emanated from him, enveloping Zhang Shan like a surging river. The pressure on Zhang Shan skyrocketed, causing him to collapse on his knees with a loud thud, his eyes filled with terror as he looked at Wang Chao.

In that instant, he felt an indescribably dreadful pressure emanating from Wang Chao, as if he were being stared at by a murderous beast, sending shivers down his spine and causing cold sweat to pour out.

"Who... who are you?" Zhang Shan trembled.

The overwhelming force was simply too terrifying, leaving him trembling and feeling as though his very soul was being torn apart.

"I've already told you my name. Why are you asking who I am?" Wang Chao's face remained cold as he walked over and kicked Zhang Shan to the ground once again, causing him to cough incessantly.

Continuing from there, Wang Chao stepped on one of Zhang Shan's fingers.

Crack!

With tremendous force, the bone in Zhang Shan's finger shattered under the pressure.

"Ahhh!!"

Zhang Shan's face immediately contorted in pain, and he let out a heart-wrenching scream.

Zhang Min, witnessing her brother's torment, felt sympathy in her eyes and wanted to help Zhang Shan. However, upon careful consideration, she refrained from intervening and stood silently on the side.

Cut your losses!

Their family could not control Zhang Shan. They couldn't be tough in front of him or discipline him. It was better to endure and let Wang Chao deal with Zhang Shan, hoping that he would change for the better.

"This kick is to punish you for attempting to extort me!" Wang Chao coldly stated as he pressed his foot against Zhang Shan's broken finger. "Next, I'll punish you for trying to stab me."

"But I didn't...," Zhang Shan's expression changed.

His attempt to stab Wang Chao didn't connect at all, did it?

Bang!

Before he could finish speaking, Wang Chao kicked Zhang Shan in the face, causing him to spit out blood and his face to swell.

Wang Chao controlled the force well, ensuring that Zhang Shan's teeth and brain weren't harmed. However, the intense pain was overwhelming for Zhang Shan.

Collapsed on the ground, his head buzzing, Zhang Shan felt dizzy and couldn't get up for a while.

"You're just asking for a beating. Reflect on your actions while kneeling on the ground. If you've figured it out, come in and tell me. Pass the assessment, and I'll give you one million. I'll even arrange for you to have a regular job," Wang Chao said, glancing at Zhang Shan before pulling Zhang Min back into the hospital room and closing the door.

Zhang Min stood on the side, her eyes filled with worry and compassion.

Although she knew her brother was a scoundrel, seeing him being beaten like this still pained her.

"A scoundrel like your brother won't change without being taught a lesson. Endure the pain, even if it hurts," Wang Chao glanced at Zhang Min and then looked at Zhang Dongjun lying on the hospital bed. He spoke in a deep voice, "Think back to when your brother arrived. He didn't even acknowledge your father. This kind of scoundrel must be punished until he understands."

"Is there no other way?" Zhang Min asked.

"Do you have one?" Wang Chao asked in return.

Zhang Min fell silent.

No!

Faced with a brother like Zhang Shan, even as an educated person, she had no method to make him change for the better. Apart from trusting Wang Chao, there was no other option.

"Do not worry, judging by your brother's appearance, he seems tough and resilient, probably used to taking beatings for a long time. A good beating won't do him any harm," Wang Chao said.

With his keen eye, Wang Chao quickly recognized that Zhang Shan had a good physical condition.

"But his finger is broken, shouldn't it be treated?" Zhang Min still felt a bit concerned.

"Don't worry, I was careful. It's just a linear fracture. We'll fix it, and it should heal in about a month. It won't be a problem," Wang Chao reassured her.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure!"

Seeing Zhang Min's worried and concerned expression, Wang Chao could not help but find it amusing. He calmly said, "Alright, stop worrying. That scoundrel won't learn his lesson without a bit of pain."

"Oh, by the way, your father is sweating. Go and wipe it off quickly."

Zhang Min's expression changed, and she hurriedly walked to Zhang Dongjun's bedside, taking a towel to wipe his sweat.

As she looked at her father's weakened face, she felt even more distressed.

Throughout her life, Zhang Dongjun had always been a strong and capable person at home. She had never seen her father so frail before.

Wang Chao poured himself a glass of water and took a sip. Then he peeled an apple and handed it to Zhang Min, saying, "Miss Zhang, you've been busy for so long without even drinking a drop of water. Have something to eat."

After helping her father wipe off the sweat, Zhang Min sat on a chair and sighed, "I have no appetite."

With such a big incident happening and her troublesome brother causing more trouble, her mind was in chaos. How could she have the appetite to eat?

"Eating will give you strength. Not eating is not a solution. Look at your father's condition now, and your brother's as well. If your own health deteriorates, who will take care of your family?" Wang Chao said.

Zhang Min thought for a moment and realized that he was right. She immediately took the apple and started eating.

Wang Chao sat quietly beside her, no longer speaking, feeling secretly relieved.

If he hadn't stayed behind, they would not have known what trouble Zhang Shan would have caused.

Zhang Dongjun's accident was because of him and Shen Bing. If something unexpected had happened due to Zhang Shan's actions, they would have had a guilty conscience for the rest of their lives.

Outside the door, Zhang Shan kept knocking and shouting, "Sis, I know I was wrong, open the door quickly. I haven't seen Dad yet."

"And you, Wang Chao, how dare you hit me like that! You are asking for death. Remember, I'll make sure to kill you!"

He continued banging on the door, making loud noises and yelling.

"Fuck, Zhang Shan, so you are here!"

"Get him, catch him!"

Just as Zhang Shan was knocking on the door, suddenly, a more ferocious voice came from outside. Immediately after, a rush of footsteps approached from that direction.

Outside the door, Zhang Shan's voice instantly became anxious and panicked, "Sis, the debt collectors are here! Help, open the door quickly!"
