Divine Emperor of Death

3133 Melting Ascendance

Sophie and Bylai's gaze shook as they heard his words.

Elder Aradiel Furiose was already a Late Stage Immortal Emperor who could probably defeat almost any peak Immortal Emperor of other powers due to his extraordinary prowess. Yet, these tiny, refined wisps of apocalyptic flames could somehow make him die.

They were in disbelief over the magnitude of this situation.

But even more than that, they felt incredulous as they gazed at Davis.

No matter what stage it was, the very peak they had seen a person reach in prowess was their husband and not any other person. They were very proud of that fact and could hold their heads high anywhere, no matter their status. Still, it would be fine if he increased his maximum prowess by a level even to them. Two levels more is understandable if he sacrifices his entire essence, but to increase it by five or six levels was beyond the realm of comprehension.

This took them back to the scene where their big sister had indirectly advised them to ignore certain secrets that their husband may hold.

They were not to pry over it.

But at this moment, they were naturally curious- no, highly interested.

They wanted to know what happened so badly that their expressions almost melted with curious looks.

Davis blinked.

How can he not know what they were feeling if they expressed their intentions like that? However, he shook his head.

"No, you can't know for your own safety."

Sophie and Bylai's expression deflated with a bit of disappointment. However, they didn't act upset or displeased as they believed his words. After all, as far as they knew, this was something even Myria didn't dare speak of lightly, and that woman was far more enigmatic and knowledgeable than any being they had seen.

"But hey," Davis raised his hands and patted their arms, "Eventually, we'll all get strong enough to a point where the dangers of knowing this secret is prevalent or lessened, so it wouldn't matter anymore if you all knew or not. Until then, bear with me."

He consoled them, causing them to smile lightly, their eyes gleaming with some strange emotion.

They couldn't say anything in response because they were moved.

How many men would be alright with sharing their secrets with their significant other, even if it is only one partner in this cutthroat cultivation universe?

They didn't know the answer but at least knew it was not many as secrets consisted of life and death matters.

His Heart Intent. His ability to plunder karmic nature. His ridiculous growth.

He was not afraid but confident and was not reluctant to expose his secrets to expose his true self, which in turn allowed them to understand him more. He opened himself up to swallow them, and they couldn't help but feel that they had fallen into a trap that was him as he was endlessly mysterious to them.

But more than curiosity, they felt honored to be a part of his life.

After all, he allowed them to experience life and grow in cultivation along with him, unwittingly causing them to respect him and love him with reason but also bordered on blind faith as he was unique in almost any cultivation aspect that they could point out.

"…"

Davis blinked.

This gaze they looked at him with… he knew it from Evelynn and Natalya. It was the gaze of a woman who idolized her man. It was like they peered into his soul, invoking his manliest desires to embrace them.

However, the heat from this place made Davis shiver out of his reverie.

"Let's leave. Stay close to me."

"Yes~"

He gestured and turned to look above, scanning the ceiling with his eyes for a way out.

However, he saw no exit, agreeing that it was no wonder Sophie and Bylai decided to collect treasures in the meantime.

It was indeed better to die while collecting a treasure than being trapped and buried helplessly.

"…!"

But suddenly, Davis thought of the most crude way ever to leave than finding a way out as his soul body remaining outside knew that his people encountered another group of people, but the ridiculousness of the situation was that they were from an Upper Realm, which meant an Empyreal Monarch could exist in that group.

This instantly made him forget all caution, causing him to grab Sophie and Bylai and pull them closer to his body.

"Ah~"

Sophie and Bylai were shaken out of their reverie by his sudden pull.

They suddenly thought he wanted to do them here, their cheeks turning red, but before they could even get embarrassed and scold him for being horny in a dangerous place, he rushed above, causing their hearts to jolt. Only then did they notice his solemn expression, causing them to turn silent.

*Bzzzz!~*

Iridescent energy flowed out of Davis, causing a wheel to form around his body.

The black-white world within this wheel made Sophie and Bylai feel strange, as though they didn't exist in reality anymore.

However, they saw Davis ascend and smash into the rocky ceiling, but despite that, the sound of the explosion didn't roar out. Instead, the solid rock melted as though it was clay, spinning away as the reincarnation wheel spun around them.

It didn't fall on them, causing them to blink, but their hearts leaped when they saw the falling magma threaten to drench them!

However, the reincarnation wheel was even more ridiculous.

Its edges glowed with an iridescent light, illuminating the rocky walls and revealing veins of molten rock that pulsated like veins of living fire around them. When magma came down pouring on them with a viscous density, it recoiled as though yielding to a higher authority.

With the magma inherently avoiding them or being pushed out of the way, they dissolved the obsidian walls and ascended rather quickly, causing Sophie and Bylai to hold his robes tightly while also occasionally glancing at his charming face, which appeared quite heroic to them.

They were in a black-white world while the fiery mist around them was melted and pushed aside as they made their way up, soon reaching the surface.

*Bzzzz!~*

They broke open the surface of the volcanic region, causing some magma to spew out as it was thrown around by the reincarnation wheel. As the reincarnation wheel became undone, their figures became visible, but their eyes widened as they saw their group battling with another group while Davis was not in a good mood.

He couldn't believe fate was throwing him up and down, not even giving him the time to refine heavenly flames while he didn't know what to do with the apocalyptic flames, causing him to fume inwardly.

"Stop!"

His voice resounded out with deadly killing intent while his soul undulations carried a mountainous pressure that suddenly caused all the people to come to a momentary stop.

"Well, well, well~ There's your true body, but isn't it audacious to show up on the battlefield with two women in your arms like that?"

An amused voice resounded out, causing Davis to look at a purple-robed, white-haired man with white lightning arcing around him, except the lightning actually made no electrifying sounds while his undulations were equally silent, if not terrifying, causing Bylai and Sophie to squint their eyes in shock.

'An Empyreal Monarch…!'
