Divine Emperor of Death

3143 Compatability Of Two Destructive Flames

Davis flew across the volcanic region.

He was still in the outskirts but high in the skies, his gaze panning around as he watched the world burning, especially in the center of the volcanic region where there was a huge bonfire of apocalyptic flames melting and incinerating everything in its calamitous wake.

'The Emperor of Death brings calamity and is dangerous? Heh, I'm nothing compared to these apocalyptic flames at the moment…'

Davis wryly laughed before finding a proper location on a mountain peak.

With a deep breath, he brought out one of the three annihilative heavenly flame wisps. It blazed with a vibrant gold fire, its heat radiating with an intensity that seemed to defy the very laws of combustion as its property of immolation existed solely to punish and very effective against people with karmic sin.

Its flames leaped and danced with wild and primal energy, casting a warm, glorious light upon the surroundings.

He stared at it for a few seconds as though he was mesmerized by it.

Soon, he plucked out a tiny strand from the annihilative heavenly flame wisp, causing it to flicker, but ultimately, it remained stable, with his life energy also covering it.

This alone was an extremely powerful strand that could kill an Early Stage Immortal Emperor with ease. However, he let it float above his left palm with ease before allowing it float in front of him through the usage of his soul force after throwing the main annihilative heavenly flame wisp back to his life ring.

Flicking his right sleeve, he suddenly summoned another flame wisp.

It was tinier than the annihilative heavenly flame wisp but possessed an aura mightier than it as its purplish-black hue oscillated like shadows born from the depths of an abyss. Its presence was unsettling as it cast a haunting glow, even overshadowing the crimson-gold hue of the annihilative heavenly flame wisp.

It was ridiculously powerful, perhaps even more than annihilative heavenly flames at the same level due to its pure destructive nature.

Davis imagined that annihilative heavenly flames would win if it was incinerating an entity that had karmic sin when it competed with apocalyptic flames, but ultimately, the latter had a pure destructive aura that was no different than death energy, sometimes undulating with even more berserk energy.

As he had taken a deep breath, Davis could sense the scorching aura. Sense, because the heaven and earth energy was no longer willing to mold into him. Otherwise, he imagined that he could have twice or even thrice the result in practicing flame cultivation here.

However, he didn't think he needed to waste such time as he could just pave his own path, recalling the Celestial Transcendent's words on how every Anarchic Divergent at his level who had passed their Anarchic Heavenly Tribulations were all giants of their own cultivation path.

Therefore, he also knew he needed to become a giant that was capable of devouring a portion of heaven and earth or remaining at this level and ending up meeting his demise sooner rather than later.

The fact that he was the ninth Anarchic Divergent who summoned the Celestial Transcendents should mean that there were eight Anarchic Divergents before him, but since the fifth Anarchic Divergent was the World Master of the First Haven World and only three managed to defeat the Celestial Transcendent, then that meant there were two more Anarchic Divergents who were just as strong as him or the World Master, their intentions unknown.

Davis didn't let his guard down but rather fueled himself with a mountainous size of motivation as he envisioned three giants standing before his path.

But in reality, floating in front of him were flame wisps of destructive nature that could potentially change his path. However, he was also well aware of how it could ruin him like the incident back then, so he carefully and slowly tried to probe the reaction of these flames in their tamed state.

He allowed them to hover closer, seeing them still dance as though they weren't bothered.

However, the moment they were only ten inches separating them, they suddenly grew silent.

At that very instant, Davis felt the air around him grow charged with anticipation, as if the very elements of the universe recognized the monumental undertaking he was about to attempt. His hands trembled slightly as he focused his will, his fingertips tingling as they brushed against the boundaries of two distinct yet similar energies.

Slowly, almost reverently, he began to manipulate the flames, his hands moving in delicate, intricate patterns. The crimson fire responded to the flame with a surge of intense heat, while the purplish-black flame seemed to writhe and shift in response as if it held a sentience of its own.

The apocalyptic flames didn't seek to merge. It seemed to seek the destruction of the annihilative heavenly flame wisp.

However, he felt that there was hope as they were his stubborn yet obedient children.

Perhaps he could allow them to exist in harmony.

Either way, Davis didn't hurry these wisps, allowing them to feel each other.

As he continued to weave his intentions into reality, the flames were finally only an inch closer. At first, they were roaring at each other as they blazed with intensity, seemingly going to explode upon touch, but when they finally made contact, it was a delicate dance of colors intertwining—a waltz of crimson and purplish-black. But soon, the flames started to blend on a deeper level, their energies fusing with an otherworldly grace.

'This is…!'

Beads of sweat formed on his face as Davis saw these two flame wisps could actually combine. His expression grew into one of excitement, but he kept it in check and continued to hold them in harmony to see how they could exist like this before blowing up.

However, even after an entire minute, he saw that this mixed wisp didn't explode but stayed rather obedient under his control.

'Perfect…! This means that they could co-exist at the lowest form…'

Davis wanted to try fusing them but knew he didn't have much control or comprehension of apocalyptic flames to be able to achieve that.

However, he didn't stop with his experiment, as there were still two energies left to combine with this mixed flame wisp in order for him to know if he could truly incorporate it into his Essence Gathering Cultivation.

Crimson-green wind reverberated into existence, their mere existence causing the air to vibrate as the airy blade rotated with incredible speed. He covered them in his own life energy, actually refining them into a tamed strand, and since it was his own energy, it was extremely easy to control it, causing him to smile lightly.

Davis controlled this crimson-green blade that stayed static instead of flowing furiously and slowly pushed it towards the waltz of crimson-gold and purplish-black flame that had yet to fuse completely.

However, just before he could bring the heavenly wind blade to touch the flame wisp, he pulled it back and shook his head.

"Nope…"

A huge premonition filled his head, one that screamed danger and caused its heart to sink into a quagmire of darkness.

He stood up, moving behind five whole meters, and strained his soul force to control them from a distance. Between him and the wisps were three barriers made up of his soul force. This eased his heart a bit and allowed him to push the heavenly wind into the blazing wisp of annihilative heavenly flame and apocalyptic flame.

Davis watched them near before they finally met, a crescendo of light and energy suddenly compressed the air, causing the wisps to appear like they were going to be snuffed out.

"…!"

Davis saw that the heavenly wind was indeed going to snuff the flames out, but when he tried to balance it-
