Dominate the Country
Chapter 927 National Engineering Strategy
In Huaining County, Chenzhou Prefecture, the Shahe River flows through Zhoujiakou Town, a commercial pearl in eastern Henan. Not long ago, the Jialu River experienced a large-scale rainfall, followed by continuous rainfall in the Chenzhou Prefecture area in eastern Henan, so that the water level of the Shahe River surged, the river water rolled and gurgling, and the sound of waves continued.
On the north bank of the river. The joint construction team composed of Zhongyuan Second Construction Company and the Bridge Research Institute under the Ministry of Construction of the State is making final preparations for the construction of the Shahe Bridge, one of the first reinforced concrete cross-river bridge projects in China.
The Yellow River Bridge in Xuzhou is a railway bridge, while the Shahe Bridge in Zhoujiakou is purely for pedestrians and horses.
Building a cross-river bridge in Zhoujiakou, the closest commercial point to Lushan, to connect the traffic on both sides is one of the important goals of the new round of transportation construction strategy currently launched by the country. The Shahe Bridge is one of a series of cross-river bridges. This strategic plan is a major test of the construction technology of road and bridge projects, and it is also a node for China to move from traditional bridge construction technology to a new era.
The total investment in this transportation construction plan is no less than 500 million yuan, and the planned progress time is definitely more than five years. This will even involve the seventh cabinet in five years, and additional funds are a piece of cake.
For ordinary people, they don't care about the future. They only care about the present.
Once the Shahe Bridge is completed, it will not have a qualitative boost to Zhoujiakou's economy itself, but there are many benefits. At least the transportation on both sides of the river is much more convenient.
In the past, Shahe could only be crossed by boat or light carriages - there are also old-style bridges on Shahe, which can be crossed by people and carriages, but carriages full of goods and heavy carriages such as public carriages cannot be crossed. The old-style bridges can't bear it!
But what if it is replaced with reinforced concrete?
Since the Ministry of Construction dared to set its sights on the Yellow River when designing the railway, the small Shahe River will definitely not be a problem. China's current bridge engineering mechanics can fully achieve this, and the so-called advanced machinery used in the project is nothing more than a number of heavy steam traction engines or cranes, and some inland river floating platforms.
Even on second-class or third-class bridges such as the Shahe Bridge, some people have proposed a traction bridge design, but it was eventually rejected by the superiors. The construction technology of reinforced concrete and stone bridge construction is relatively mature, low-cost and safer. However, many technologies required for traction bridges, especially the processing and riveting of large metal components, have considerable uncertainty.
The construction of large-scale bridge projects is a major project for the country to stimulate domestic demand, cultivate road and bridge technical construction talents, and promote social and economic development. It can not only provide a ready-made engineering internship for students majoring in bridge construction in higher education institutions in various places, but also provide a large number of jobs for the society.
Although the entire plan is only 500 million yuan, the flow and operation of these 500 million yuan in society will eventually generate an economic volume that is twice, three times, or even more than this number. As far as Chen Ming knows, in the first half of this year, more than 100 new construction engineering companies and factories were established in various prefectures and counties in Chenhan. The stimulus effect is very obvious.
Take the Shahe Bridge as an example. There are two more building materials companies in Chenzhou Prefecture, with a registered capital of 100,000 yuan, which are engaged in river sand, cement, hardware, etc. The local government of Chenzhou Prefecture also specially summoned the heads of local related industries including these two new companies, and mobilized everyone to improve product quality and production efficiency, and try to get all kinds of demand orders in bridge construction projects to fall locally.
Although everyone knows that this is impossible.
But the prospects of building materials in this area are obvious to all. If this Shahe Bridge is built, how many old bridges will be replaced with solid reinforced concrete bridges in Chenzhou Prefecture alone? These are the real hopes of building materials companies.
…
Fengguo Town, Lijin County, Wuding, Qilu.
The richest town before the estuary of Daqing River, the wharf here can be said to be the estuary of Daqing River.
Shandong has also been rainy recently. The rainy days in the middle and upper reaches of the Daqing River have lasted for several days, and there is no need to say more about the rolling river water in the lower reaches. However, the expansion project of Fengguo Town Wharf has not been delayed by the rain and is still very busy.
This is not a construction project planned by the central cabinet, but one of the key provincial construction projects carried out by the Qilu government in this wave of national transportation engineering construction. There are nearly 500 workers working in the port on this rainy day, half of whom are from Fengguo Town.
Groups of dock workers in raincoats are busy shuttling between the port and the storage area, and heavy steam cranes are lifting carriages full of large bluestones to the front line of the construction.
These bluestones are all produced by Wuding Prefecture itself, whether it is the outer stone of the port breakwater or the carved stone slabs used for paving the wharf, all produced in Wuding Prefecture. And between the port wharf and the storage area, there are also track carts pulled by animal power. This rail was not repaired urgently because of this project, but the wharf design of Fengguo Town itself has tracks.
The latter has become one of the standard features of large and medium-sized docks in recent years.
The dock throughput of Fengguo Town is certainly not comparable to that of Yantai and Qingdao, and even less than that of Laizhou, but it is close to the Daqing River and it cannot be a small port again.
And why did the Qilu Provincial Government build this dock?
It is because of the geographical advantages here.
Qilu has such a long coastline, but the two large ports are located on the south and east sides of the peninsula, and the development prospects of Laizhou Port in the north are not very good. The northwest coastal area of Qilu, where Fengguo Town is located, is largely affected by Tianjin. The existence and development of Tianjin Port squeezed the living space along the Laizhou Bay.
But what is the saying? Better than the best than the worst. The current situation of Laizhou Port is the standard of better than the best than the worst. Laizhou Port is located between Fengguo Town Port and Yantai. The calculation of the Qilu government is to hope that Fengguo Town can also be better than the best and make the Daqing River Basin popular.
A Daqing River runs through the northern border of Qilu. If it can be developed, it will have a huge impact on the entire province of Qilu.
Although Laizhou's development speed and prosperity are far less than Yantai and Qingdao, it is already very good compared with other prefectures in Qilu.
Fengguo Town and Laizhou Port are the small Yantai and small Qingdao on the north side of the peninsula.
…
The port area of Fengguo Town is bustling, and Qingdao Port is also bustling at this moment. This is not only because Qingdao itself is the largest port in Shandong, with an annual throughput that is even stronger than Yantai, but also because Qingdao has the only large shipyard in Qilu - Qingdao Shipyard.
At this moment, the middle and senior leaders and shareholder representatives of Qingdao Shipyard are gathering together. They are not discussing the next development plan of the factory, but everyone is holding a book in their hands, exuding the vigor of fighting cocks. This is the "Chen Han Container Standard Specification" just issued by the court.
From today, the container, a mode of transportation that has been implemented in Chen Han for a long time, and even has spread to Europe, has been determined by the national government as an industry benchmark.
To be honest, Chen Han's reaction is a bit slow. This fruit was ripe and ready to be picked ten years ago. Now China's ocean shipping industry, and even some British ocean-going merchant ships, have long adopted the container model. Of course, Chen Han's current container standard model also has its own inevitable significance. It simplifies the volume of containers from the original four levels and eleven standards to three standards, which is a huge change.
Large, medium and small!
The large ones are how long, wide and high, and the small ones are how long, wide and high, and the regulations cannot be more rigid.
This is also an improvement for the marine transportation industry to a certain extent.
Although Chen Ming really wants to say that the size of containers should be exactly the same, this is impossible based on current technological conditions. Besides, even in the 21st century, there are ordinary containers and high containers, and even ordinary containers have large and small ones.
For shipyards everywhere, this is also a serious matter that must be faced. In the future, when they build ships again, they must design the ship structure according to the size of the container. Otherwise, it will be abandoned by the trend of the times.
Chen Han has promoted container transportation for more than 20 years. He has not used any administrative means or high-pressure means, but has completely used the benefits that can be seen with the naked eye to let thousands of shipowners make their own choices.
Any shipyard knows the role of containers for ships, and any ambitious shipyard will not ignore the importance of containers for ships.
In fact, the ocean transportation power developed by the country over the past ten or twenty years has gained a lot of benefits because of paying attention to this detail. The maximum cargo capacity of an ordinary civilian ocean-going merchant ship is generally around 500 tons, but this is only a theoretical load data. In the past hundred years, the actual cargo capacity of such merchant ships was not even 400 tons, and even 300 tons might be barely enough.
Because of the implicit performance constraints of the cabin space structure, coupled with safety considerations. Even in many cases, due to the characteristics of the goods, the utilization rate of the warehouse space is very low, and it often feels that it is full. In fact, all the goods added together may be less than 300 tons, wasting the merchant ship's transportation capacity. At the same time, the various non-standard cargo boxes in the cabin also make the loading and unloading, storage and transportation process very complicated, wasting a lot of man-hours.
The "generation" of containers has solved this problem. Although the size of the container is much larger than the previous cargo box, it is definitely not as huge as in later generations. The largest container is only three feet wide and high, and ten feet long. Use steam cranes or large animal-powered cranes to send them to the deck of the ship, or even directly drop them from the specially set "skylight" into the cabin, and then use a human-powered cart to push them deep into the cabin. Finally, through the mobile crane-pulley group, every inch of space in each warehouse can be easily utilized.
And now, Chen Han wants to reduce the standards of containers. The previous eleven standards are too many. Unify the standards of containers and guide the construction specifications of merchant ship cargo holds. This is the cabinet's plan.
Containers of various standards can reasonably store and transport bulk commodities to the greatest extent. Combined with the steam cranes that are now matched at all Chen Han's docks, the efficiency of loading and unloading transportation can be greatly improved, which has a great significance that cannot be ignored for commercial activities in the current era where the cost of cargo storage and transportation has always been high.
It is also raining in Jiangnan. It can even be said that the entire south of this month is shrouded in mist and rain.
But in this continuous rain, the Ganjiang River, Xiangjiang River, Qiantang River, Minjiang River and other rivers in the south, and the inland river docks are also slowly expanding. After entering the Pang Zhenkun era, the whole of China seemed to have returned to 20 years ago. There were construction sites and construction everywhere in the country...
