Dragon Clan: Thought So Far

To my dear readers (3):

To be honest, when I wrote this speech, I was still working day and night, hiding in the corner of my small office, with my eyes full of numbness and fatigue from being overwhelmed by life.

I think I can't write a decent tragedy like this. Even when I started writing my first book in 2019, I was already keen on words that could make people cry. At that time, I was still a child who had not left the ivory tower, and my heart was full of disappointment and anger at this not-so-fair world.

I liked Teacher Jiangnan for a longer time, probably when I was thirteen or fourteen years old. At that time, we children who had not seen the truth of the world still had the ambition to be a person who changed everything. Maybe when I was in English class, I imagined myself as a super alien like Crick Kent, or when Teacher Huang talked about the journey from Baicao Garden to Sanwei Bookstore, I imagined myself as a hero who saved the country and the people.

Later, my studies became increasingly busy, and I had no space and time for imagination. At that time, I liked to read the works left by my predecessors many years ago. Because there were no e-books, I could only read the yellowed and curled books borrowed from the small library. Now I think my favorite is J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter. It was the only wonderful idea that the library allowed us, the teenagers who were about to take the college entrance examination, to touch.

But the most impressive one was Dostoevsky's "The Insulted and the Injured". Dostoevsky is a classic Russian pessimist. The words that flowed from his pen were so depressing that people couldn't cry. They just wanted to lie down and look at the ceiling, silently angry and disappointed with everything.

The book "The Insulted and the Injured" unfolds the main line with the tone of Soviet tragedy, the suffering of Neri's family and the misfortune of Natasha's family. As the source of all evil, Duke Valkovsky abducted Neri's mother and cheated all the wealth of Neri's grandfather, which eventually led to the death of three generations of Neri's family with hatred. He also falsely accused Natasha's father of bankrupting his family, and Natasha was also deceived by the Duke's son.

This is a microcosm of the superpower society that was famous in Europe at that time.

Dostoevsky never told people about his state of mind, but his friend once said in an interview that on the night when he finished writing Natasha's father, he sat on the rooftop with carved iron railings and stared at a birch tree for a long time. When everyone looked at him, his eyes were dull.

Teacher Jiangnan and Mr. Dostoevsky left a seed of a certain tree in my heart when I was young, so I love tragedy in 2019. In order to make my love more reasonable, I even spent some time looking for some evidence that tragedy is higher than drama.

Anyway, I thought at that time that there are always some things in this world that humans can never resist, like the fate I often mention in this book.

Time, death, miss and loss, the moment you fall down and cry with your face covered, the feeling of powerlessness shapes the inevitable tragedy in fate.

Thinking about it, it is indeed solemn and beautiful. Writing it in a story is a text that can be remembered and cursed for a long time.

But today I have felt the hugeness and ruthlessness of this world. The tired tragedy written by tired people no longer has that kind of anger, but only despair. So I have always emphasized the invincibility of fate and never let fate really win even one battle in the war with Lu Mingfei.

Recently I learned a word on the Internet that I knew a long time ago. They call it mechanical deus ex machina. I first heard it in some fantasy works on the Qidian website, using the existence from the unknown world to descend to the side of the protagonist to achieve some purpose that humans cannot achieve.

But this term actually originated from Greek classical drama, referring to unexpected, sudden, and far-fetched rescue characters, means or events, which are suddenly introduced in fictional works to rescue tense plots or scenes. In ancient Greek drama, when the plot is stuck in a dilemma and difficult to solve, a powerful god will suddenly appear to solve the problem and wrap up the story.

At that time, people usually used cranes or hoists to carry the inferior actors who played gods to the stage. This performance technique is artificial and creates an unexpected plot reversal.

This is to turn tragedy into drama with false power, which I do not agree with.

So I never write about redundant, completely untraceable, and completely fabricated power in the original work, and never give Lu Mingfei a miracle that can solve all problems just because he can be washed away at any time in the torrent of fate.

Because in this world, such miracles do not exist.

If you want to succeed, you want to get everything you want, you want to be strong, you want to wave your fist at this dark world and beat it to pieces, then you have to go against the current in the river of fate.

If I want to write a tragedy, I will write that all your efforts cannot change the predetermined fate, and no matter how hard Lu Mingfei tries, the people around him will still leave one after another.

But I am too tired, and probably the people who read my writings are also very tired.

We no longer have the strength to turn against the world, so why not ask the child who has the courage to do so to help us see the scenery we have never seen?

I have said a lot, but in fact I just want to tell my dear readers that the story that has been pondered until now has already walked out of the tragic script in the long creation, and everything Lu Mingfei has done is not a short-lived adult fairy tale.

I wrote the person I once longed to be on Lu Mingfei. He was once cowardly but later he was brave as if he had squeezed all his bones dry. He always failed but never wanted to give up. He was willing to share his love with everyone around him... Of course, it's funny to say that the most important thing is that he is very popular with girls.

Finally, the world is so huge and fate is so fierce, but don't forget the feeling of anger. When you are desperate, you should punch the world. Your bones may break, but your courage will make the world remember that there was a guy who wanted to hit him hard.

In addition, the story of Black Moon Tide has ended. I will continue to update Odin's Abyss and the Return of the Mourner. Don't forget that this is not a tragedy. All the ups and downs on the way are for the final beautiful scenery.

Then the girls with the most roles should be Eri, Mai and little Renata. Of course, our little angel, Bai Yueguang and the piano beauty will also return one after another.

And Nono's child, I am thinking whether I should still write these cruel destinies. Maybe everything in the past was just a nightmare that I can't wake up from. Nothing happened, and everything can be changed.

Suffering and hardship, to you.
