"You're making a big mistake, Adam." Adam coldly looked at Cole.

Cole was one of the Generals of the Echo Dominion Empire.

Cole was middle-aged and stood at a height of 5 feet 8 inches. He had a medium build and always wore shiny black armor that covered his entire body except for his face. He had fair skin, kept his face clean-shaven, and had brown eyes. His black hair was kept very short.

He had a greatsword on his back.

Cole has been in the military for 121 years now. It has been 41 years since he became a General.

By the orders of the Emperor, the troops of Duke Adam had no choice but to give up and surrender. Except for a few hundred loyal men, the rest of Adam's troops had surrendered to the Imperial Army.

"If you surrender without a fight then I can at least make sure that your wife stays alive." But this only made Adam's frown deepen.

He did not like the way Cole said his words. Cole wasn't a bad man or anything. But he was someone who held grudges.

When Adam was young and wild on the battlefield, one time, he had severely beaten Cole. If not for the Emperor himself stopping Adam, Cole would have been beaten to death. Adam beat Cole because he was very interested in his wife, Sophia. Sophia did not like Cole.

He also did a few other things which really angered the young Adam so he beat him nearly to death. At the same time, Cole hadn't become a 5th-order cultivator yet. But now that he had become a 5th-order cultivator, Adam had no chance against Cole.

The current situation presents the perfect opportunity for Cole to get revenge on Adam.

Right now, Adam, Sophia, Eddie, Tobias the old vampire, and a few thousand loyal soldiers who refused to surrender and leave Adam's side are surrounded by more than ten thousand Imperial Soldiers. If Cole wasn't a 5th-order cultivator, then there was a chance for them to defeat the Imperial Troops.

"Where is Zak?" Sophia asked Eddie in a low tone. But Cole heard her.

"Young master has safely teleported to the Dragon Palace." Knowing that both of her children were safe, Sophia sighed in relief. Even if she and Adam died here, they wouldn't have any regrets.

"As much as I would like to beat you to death, I was ordered to only use violence if you refused to surrender."

"Now I would need you to be a good boy and kneel down. Your wife, your commander, that old vampire, and your men included." Cole said with a cold grin.

Adam did not move.

"What has become of the Wild Lion of the Echo Dominion Empire?" Cole mocked Adam.

"You know, originally, I thought I would never be able to touch you, given your status in this Empire."

"You had the backing of the Istarin Empire and the His Majesty. You were untouchable."

"But now, look how much things have changed."

"You have lost your status within 24 hours."

"You have lost your position in this Empire."

"You have become a wanted man in this Empire."

"The long history of the Onard noble household is going to end today."

"Let's end this, Adam." Cole drew his greatsword.

"Don't worry. I will make sure your wife lives, but she will probably end up working as my maid."

Hearing this, Adam lost his control. He also charged Cole with his greatsword.

Seeing this, Cole grinned. He had successfully made Adam attack him. Now, he had evidence, so no one could question his actions.

"Stand back. Things are about to become bloody."

Cole easily dodged Adam's attack. He then deflected Adam's second attack with his greatsword. Before Adam could get on his feet and launch his 3rd attack, Cole stepped forward and knocked the greatsword from Adam's right hand.

Bang….!!

He then kicked Adam in the stomach.

Adam fell to his knees while coughing blood.

Cole grabbed Adam's throat and lifted him up in the air.

"While you have stopped improving, I never stopped training."

"Farewell…..!!"

"No....!!" Sophia was about to rush to save Adam.

Suddenly, the hand that was grabbing Adam by his throat bent in an unnatural angle. For a second, Cole felt no pain, but the next second, he let go of Adam as he held his right.

Ah...….!!!!

"He is not going to lose anything today. It's you who is going to lose your life." Cole was horrified hearing this familiar voice. Normally, hearing this voice, Cole felt endless courage building in him. He felt having this man by their side, they can never lose. He and his troops would feel their confidence growing.

But he never thought that one day, his whole body would tremble to hear his voice. Now, he had become the Dragon Monarch's enemy. Instead of feeling endless courage and confidence building in him, he felt endless despair and fear taking over his heart.

Even though he was a Peak 5th-order cultivator, he still felt that he was an ant in front of him.

Aditya might be the only Emperor in history who rushed into the enemy's Empire to rescue his family.

Aditya grabbed Cole's face like he was grabbing a basketball.

Aditya slightly pulled Cole's body forward and asked in a low yet cold tone. "Did you forget the consequences of going against me?"

Aditya wasn't just asking this question to Cole, and he was asking his question to everyone who went against him. Did they truly think that there would be no consequence for going against him?

Did they forget what he had done to his enemies?

Did they forget that the Dragon Monarch hated betrayers more than anything else in this world?

"Please.....!!" Cole couldn't even say a second word as Aditya coldly interrupted him.

"Too late...!!"

Under everyone's horrified gaze, Cole's whole body was engulfed in Crimson Flames.

Ahhhhhhhhhh...!!!!

Cole's screams had frightened all the troops. All the imperial soldiers's faces turned pale. Now, they knew the nightmare that the enemies of the Istarin Empire faced.

A few seconds later, Cole's screams stopped.

"Father, are you all right?" Aditya asked in a gentle tone.

"I am fine…..!!" Saying that Adam ate a 3-star healing pill.

"As for you all, tell your Emperor that very soon he will suffer from the consequences of going against me." Aditya did not kill the imperial soldiers since he had some doubts in his mind. He knew that it was very out of Daxton's character to betray his ally.

Even when Daxton was pressured by the Echo Nexus Empire and the rest of the Oracle Alliance members, even then Daxton sided with Aditya. It was highly out of character for a person like to suddenly betray the Istarin Empire.

Aditya wanted to get to the bottom of this.

He killed Cole since Cole had crossed the line.

"Father, let's leave." Aditya wanted to take Adam and Sophia with him.

"Give me a few minutes. I want to take all the valuable things with me." Adam did not want to leave any valuable things behind. All the valuable pills, weapons, money, gold,…..in short everything in his possession will be taken with him.

"Leave....!!" Aditya looked at the Imperial troops and ordered them to leave Adam's territory.

The imperial troops turned around and started leaving.

Aditya could send some Istarin troops to protect Adam and his territory. But doing this would be too troublesome. After all, Daxton could order his troops to attack from all directions. The Istarin Empire faced many enemies, not just the Echo Dominion Empire. So, focusing entirely on one Empire wasn't just possible.

Back at the Dragon Palace, Julia was anxiously pacing back and forth while waiting for Aditya, along with her parents, to return.

"I am sure Aditya wouldn't let any harm fall on your parents. He will safely bring them here." Riya tried to comfort Julia.

"I know. But I still can't stop worrying."

Aditya did not make them wait too long.

Although Riya felt that 10 minutes had passed very quickly, Julia felt that 10 hours had passed. Seeing her parents behind Aditya, Julia was finally relieved.

"Mother.....!!" Julia went and hugged her mother and father together.

"What's the situation there?" Asked Spencer.

"It seems Daxton is fully intent on facing us in a war," Aditya replied.

"Actually, this change is so sudden that I am still in shock." Adam joined the conversation while Sophia and Julia talked to each other, with Riya listening to their conversation.

"Since then I have tried to see his Majesty, but I was rejected."

"Not only I, but other nobles who wanted to see his Majesty were also declined."

"As I suspected, something is really happening here."

"Something that is hidden under a veil."

"What should we do now?" Spencer asked Aditya.

"We will continue with our plans for now."

Julia, Sophia, and Riya turned their attention to Aditya. "We will wait until Riya and Julia manage to find the general location of the Rune Array."
