Dragon's Origin

#201 - That guy is a monster (Part 2)

A Qi came quickly and left even faster, disappearing in a few moments. Wang Sheng wanted to chase after her, but after thinking about it, he gave up.

Wang Sheng was an elite sniper, and his code of conduct was to complete his mission by any means necessary. The long-legged female assassin came suddenly, but it deviated from his current mission. If he chased her, it would inevitably affect Wang Sheng's journey to find the girl in his dream, and Wang Sheng was unwilling to create unnecessary complications.

Of course, there was also a more important issue. Wang Sheng's fierce performance just now was not without a price. After such a strong display, there would inevitably be a period of weakness, which was why Wang Sheng took out his sniper rifle.

If he encountered the same assassination again, Wang Sheng might only have the power to protect himself, so it was better not to act tough at this time.

In addition, there was another important reason: that long-legged female assassin was very fast, so fast that Wang Sheng couldn't catch up with her at all. Wang Sheng's strength was strong enough, but his speed had not increased proportionally.

After checking and confirming that there were no other attacks, Wang Sheng set off again, disappearing into the mountains and forests.

It was a long time after Wang Sheng left that the female assassin, A Qi, and her two companions returned to the scene.

"How is this possible?" The two burly men, who looked like they specialized in strength, were completely dumbfounded at the sight of the giant log piercing into the mountain wall for tens of centimeters, firmly fixing the eight-meter-long log in place.

The two burly men were sweating profusely as they looked at this scene. Even when they were setting up the mechanism not long ago, they hadn't sweated this much.

This mechanism took the three of them working together, using all their strength, to barely lift the giant log and place it in position. As a result, Wang Sheng had played with it as if it were a small wooden stick. Fortunately, A Qi had told them not to participate, otherwise they wouldn't even have a complete corpse! If they were swept by such a large log, how could they survive?

"Nothing is impossible. That guy is a monster!" A Qi had a piece of black纱 covering her beautiful face. She was also looking at the giant log, feeling lingering fear as she spoke. Her tone sounded normal, but A Qi knew that her whole body was trembling from the near-death experience.

The entire giant log was more than eight meters long and about ninety centimeters in diameter, with an estimated weight of nearly ten thousand pounds. The three of them had personally experienced this when setting up the trap. A weight of five tons was no joke.

A Qi had seen the old monsters in her family. The strength of a thousand pounds was not a joke, and even the more exaggerated strength of ten thousand pounds existed. However, the so-called strength of ten thousand pounds only meant being able to lift or raise something weighing ten thousand pounds in a static state. Those who claimed to have the strength of ten thousand pounds could only wield a weapon weighing half that, five thousand pounds, as their limit.

Even then, they would probably only be able to slowly swing it and attack the enemy by using the momentum of the weapon's weight. Moreover, the guys who used such heavy weapons had to be fools with a lack of brains. Normal people wouldn't do that.

To see someone like Wang Sheng casually grab a giant log weighing five tons and swing it horizontally, creating a whistling sound, was simply unheard of. But what cultivation level did those old monsters in her family have? Which one of them wasn't at the seventh or eighth level? What about Wang Sheng? Just the peak of the second level.

Having faced Wang Sheng directly and walked the line between life and death, A Qi felt it most deeply. It was truly a line between life and death. When the giant log weighing ten thousand pounds brushed past her hair and crashed into the hard mountain wall so unreasonably, A Qi even wondered if her whole body was still intact.

It was only her instinct from countless near-death experiences that allowed her to timely climb onto the giant log, blocking Wang Sheng's view. Otherwise, whether she could have left alive would have been a question.

Her two companions didn't know that A Qi's ankles were already swollen, and they didn't know that she was stepping on a pile of fragments, feeling very uncomfortable.

A Qi's feet had been hit by Wang Sheng's punch and swept by the giant log several times. Fortunately, A Qi had taken the initiative to step out and dissipate the force, so she hadn't taken the hits head-on. Even so, the high-elasticity protective formation specially customized on the soles of her boots had been shattered, and the five-level monster bone plate carved with formations inside her shoes had been broken into several pieces, losing its former flexibility and elasticity.

Even now, her feet and legs were still faintly aching, especially the foot that had been punched by Wang Sheng. She was even limping slightly when she walked.

Not to mention the dagger, which had been twisted into a pretzel shape by the monster's grab. How could it still kill people? The poison on it had no effect on that monster at all.

This assassination could be said to be a complete failure. The only good thing was that everyone had retreated safely, which was a blessing in disguise.

"That's right! He's a monster!" One of the burly men said firmly, looking in the direction where Wang Sheng had disappeared. He already prided himself on being the strongest in his age group in the family, but compared to Wang Sheng, he was not even as good as a child.

"What should we do? The tracking agent will expire in another ten days or so," the other burly man didn't participate in the topic, but asked A Qi.

"The old guys are unwilling to kill him now." A Qi was very unhappy, but she had to admit that they were powerless against Wang Sheng at this time. "We can't kill him with just the few of us."

The two burly men nodded silently, with some shame on their faces. The weakest of the three was also at the early stage of the third level, but together they couldn't do anything to a peak second-level cultivator. Fortunately, no outsiders knew about this, or they wouldn't be able to face anyone.

"Follow him first, and slowly look for opportunities. I don't believe he doesn't have any flaws." A Qi was a successful assassin. A successful assassin must have enough patience, just like Wang Sheng could endure the loneliness and observe for days without taking action. Wang Sheng could do it, and A Qi believed she could too.

Unfortunately, the wish was good, but when it came to actually implementing it, they found that it was not so simple.

After experiencing an assassination, Wang Sheng's vigilance greatly increased. Not only was it difficult for A Qi and the others to approach, but Wang Sheng's actions also lacked planning. Every time they thought they could block Wang Sheng in front, Wang Sheng would suddenly turn a corner and head in another direction.

After several consecutive attempts, the three no longer had the mood to set up traps in front of Wang Sheng. They could only watch helplessly as the tracking agent on Wang Sheng disappeared and he left their sight. Once he entered the mountains and forests, they could no longer find his trace.

A Qi and the three others could only leave in disappointment. Missing this opportunity, it wouldn't be so easy to find Wang Sheng leaving Worry-Free City again.

While the whole world was in an uproar over Dai Wuji's death, Wang Sheng himself had already changed his appearance and appeared in the suburbs of the capital.
