Dragon's Origin

#6 - The demon that crushes common sense

Even in the heat of battle, a sniper needs to calm down instantly, or they won't be able to seize those fleeting opportunities. Similarly, a calm state allows a sniper's hand to be steadier and their aim to be more accurate.

The reason Wang Sheng was able to become an ace was because of this skill. His strong mental fortitude allowed him to quickly calm down and completely empty his mind.

After calming down, most of the work was already done. The rest was just increasing communication with the Yuan Soul, which didn't take much effort for Wang Sheng.

Especially since Wang Sheng had been exposed to many Buddhist and Taoist breathing techniques for training when he was on Earth, and he also understood the visualization techniques of both Buddhism and Taoism. Therefore, the final step became simple.

In a state of tranquility and emptiness, it is easiest to generate the sixth sense. With stillness comes wisdom, and naturally, he sensed the existence of the Yuan Soul. Feeling its existence, he easily outlined the lines of the Yuan Soul using visualization.

A thin, small white carp appeared abruptly in a certain space generated in Wang Sheng's mind. The carp was different from the red carp he saw in the lake. First, it had no color; second, it wasn't real, just an outline of lines; third, it was missing a part in the middle.

Despite looking very crude, Wang Sheng did indeed feel the image of his Yuan Soul. However, when Wang Sheng's consciousness flashed to the side of the carp, he suddenly saw a gray shadow.

The gray shadow was like a person sitting, motionless at the empty edge, silent and still, like a ghost. Even Wang Sheng, who was bold and calm, was startled.

His well-trained, thick nerves allowed Wang Sheng to calm down again. He had encountered more stimulating situations before. He had spent more than ten years on the battlefield, experiencing countless times the scene of bullets flying a few centimeters above his head. The most dangerous time was when a bullet shaved a mark on his scalp. Even then, Wang Sheng's heart rate didn't exceed seventy-five beats per minute.

The gray shadow didn't move, at least it didn't seem threatening on the surface. The keen Wang Sheng quickly discovered that the gray shadow's sitting posture was exactly the same as his own. With a thought, his consciousness immediately went to the gray shadow.

After careful investigation, Wang Sheng found that the gray shadow was just a chaotic mass, shaped like a human but without facial features, and the head was just a lump. However, Wang Sheng discovered that inside the gray shadow's head, there seemed to be something shaped like a broken little fish.

Not only that, but that little fish-like thing was moving as if breathing, and the surrounding gray gas was rhythmically pouring into the little fish's body with the little fish's movements.

Is this... teaching me how to use the Yuan Soul to absorb spiritual energy? Wang Sheng subconsciously thought about this. What is the relationship between this gray shadow figure and the heaven-defying insight that suddenly appeared in my mind?

Just as he was thinking this, the gray shadow figure suddenly moved. A series of sharp attacking movements were completed smoothly. Wang Sheng instantly remembered that this set of movements should be the movements that Song Yan would make if she could perfectly fight the enemy. With a turn of his mind, Wang Sheng began to imagine Old Man Song, and the gray shadow figure changed its movements accordingly, changing to Old Man Song's style, even making the movement of smashing the enemy's throat with a punch.

However, it was obvious that the force transmitted to Wang Sheng in the little figure's movements didn't need to be very great. Considering that Old Man Song punched out half of the enemy's spine, it was clear that he was using too much force. The feeling of force shown by the little figure should be just enough to kill the enemy without making it look so ugly.

When Wang Sheng thought about outlining the Yuan Soul again, the gray shadow figure instantly returned to a sitting posture, still absorbing gray gas with the little fish's movements.

Wang Sheng was now certain that his new ability was completely related to this gray gas. Immediately, according to the gray shadow figure's movements, he visualized the Yuan Soul's little fish opening and closing.

The lines outlining the little fish were simple, and because of this, Wang Sheng didn't need to expend too much energy to easily realize the rhythmic movements of the little fish. Then, Wang Sheng noticed that a trace of spiritual energy began to gather on the Yuan Soul's little fish.

What Song Yan saw and felt was Wang Sheng's state at this moment. Counting the time, how long has it been?

Looking at this young barbarian, Song Yan really didn't know how to describe the feelings in her heart at this moment. Compared to Wang Sheng's monstrous ability to communicate with the Yuan Soul in ten minutes, Song Yan suddenly felt that those adjectives such as 'amazing talent' and 'unprecedented' that people had placed on her in the past were so harsh.

All the geniuses and prideful individuals in the world who could be named should be ashamed to death when facing Wang Sheng, this monster who fell from the sky. This had exceeded Song Yan's range of understanding.

With such terrifying talent, how brilliant would the future be if he had a high-level Yuan Soul? Song Yan didn't know whether she should envy Wang Sheng or cry for Wang Sheng. In short, it was a pity!

She just stared blankly at Wang Sheng until Wang Sheng suddenly stopped everything and suddenly opened his eyes.

"You woke up so quickly?" Seeing Wang Sheng's suddenly opened eyes, Song Yan, who was staring at Wang Sheng, was startled again.

Generally, after a person successfully communicates with the Yuan Soul for the first time, who doesn't need one or two hours to materialize the Yuan Soul in the Yuan Soul space? Wang Sheng hadn't even spent half an hour in total. How was that possible? Could it be that Wang Sheng hadn't materialized it, and what she had just seen was just an illusion?

Impossible! Song Yan immediately rejected her idea. He could absorb spiritual energy into his body, which was obviously a sign of the completion of the initial manifestation. But, this was too fast, right?

Wang Sheng's gaze turned on Song Yan's face, and then he looked around her, not finding any traces of Song Yan moving around on a large scale. He felt a little relieved in his heart and calmly replied, "I saw the little fish, and there weren't any other strange things, so I woke up." Wang Sheng didn't want Song Yan or any other outsider to know about the gray shadow.

"Indeed!" Song Yan cried out in her heart, but she didn't show much on her face. She just said with a slight surprise, "You're too fast!"

"Fast?" Wang Sheng didn't understand the concept of fast and slow, so he simply asked, "How long does it usually take people?"

"I, the adults all said I was a genius back then!" Song Yan pointed to herself with a wry smile and replied, "I studied in the elementary school for three months back then, and then I started to communicate with the Yuan Soul. The first successful communication took half a month. How long do you say it usually takes people?"

"It seems that my efficiency is okay!" Wang Sheng looked at Song Yan's wry smile, just curled his lips, seeming disdainful.

Song Yan was choked by this 'okay' evaluation and couldn't say anything. From beginning to end, Wang Sheng only listened to her telling some half-baked things. It can be said that he didn't even fully understand the most basic concept of Yuan Soul, but he actually made an effect in such a short period of time that ordinary people would never dare to imagine. He was so exaggerated that he only said it was okay. What would it be like if it was not bad?

The things she had always been proud of since she was a child were shattered by Wang Sheng in just half an hour. Song Yan really wanted to let the instructor who laughed at Wang Sheng and scolded Wang Sheng as trash in the elementary school today know about these things, and then ask him what kind of performance would not be called trash.

It was ten minutes later when Song Yan's mood calmed down. Wang Sheng had been sitting quietly watching, with the same calm, never flustered expression.

The newest novels are first published on Liu Jiu Shu Ba!

"Okay, that's it. When you materialize the Yuan Soul, the Yuan Soul's growth environment, and the upgrade conditions, and then everything is lifelike, and the Yuan Soul can move freely, then it will be considered enlightenment." Song Yan said the remaining bit, "Of course, you probably won't have upgrade conditions."

"Upgrade conditions?" Wang Sheng raised his eyebrows and asked.

"Yes, the conditions for Yuan Soul upgrade. For example, if a mountain eagle upgrades to a falcon, it must fly over a high mountain surrounded by strong winds. That high mountain surrounded by strong winds is the upgrade condition. The Yuan Soul must become stronger and stronger, and it can only complete the upgrade if it flies over it. If a forest snake wants to become a Teng Snake, it must jump over trees that are far apart. This is also the case." Song Yan gave two simple examples to illustrate.

"However, I've never heard of how a carp can change." Song Yan shook her head regretfully, "I'm afraid that the best result in the future will be that your little carp becomes a big carp. It's really a pity!"

"Don't worry about me." Wang Sheng smiled at Song Yan. He could feel that Song Yan was really feeling sorry for him. However, it was estimated that Song Yan would never have thought that in Wang Sheng's world, there had always been a legend of a carp leaping over the Dragon Gate, and Wang Sheng had already decided that when there were conditions, he would materialize a Dragon Gate in his Yuan Soul space.

If the girl in his dream could transform her sparrow Yuan Soul into a phoenix under Wang Sheng's guidance, how could Wang Sheng allow his carp to become trash?

"I'm going to kill a demon beast in three months." Song Yan didn't want to continue to delve into the topic of Yuan Soul, lest Wang Sheng know more and become less confident. She cleverly changed the topic, "At that time, I hope you can help."

The best way to give a person confidence is to let him know that he can contribute and help. Song Yan was using such means now.

"No problem!" Wang Sheng agreed very readily and confidently, as Song Yan expected. It's good to have confidence, Song Yan thought secretly in her heart.

"By the way, I have a question I still want to ask." Just when Song Yan felt that she should leave first to let Wang Sheng be alone for a while, Wang Sheng suddenly opened his mouth and asked, "What kind of elixir can be used to treat damaged souls?"

"Soul Nurturing Pill!" Song Yan replied quickly, "It's not convenient for me to have it on hand now. After I kill that demon beast, I'll help you buy a large bottle of Soul Nurturing Pills."

"Thanks!" Wang Sheng thanked with a smile, and reached out and patted the package wrapped in brocade not far on the ground: "I believe these things should be enough for me to buy some, right?"
