From Beauxbatons to Hogwarts

Chapter 9 Calvin's Magical Painting

"Can I touch him?" Dumbledore stood up and approached Calvin.

"Please." Calvin smiled and handed over the cuff.

Dumbledore touched Calvin's sleeve outside, then put an old and withered hand in to explore carefully.

"It is indeed not the Seamless Stretch Charm. The space in your sleeve is more stable than the space created by the Seamless Stretch Charm, just like a sniffing pocket." Dumbledore considered his words.

This time it was Calvin's turn to be shocked: "Principal, you are so right, this is not a problem for you."

"As a centenarian, I still have this bit of experience," Dumbledore smiled lightly and returned to his chair calmly, "But I'm still curious about how you did it."

"Principal, I told you before that when I was studying magical animals, I restored some ancient magic. This is the ancient magic that I restored from Sniff, the space spell."

"Calvin, you are such a genius, can you show me any other ancient magic?" Dumbledore was looking forward to more surprises from this young man.

However, Calvin shrugged: "Yes, there is, but the principal's office is too small and I can't use it. Ancient magic has always been famous for being powerful and difficult to control. But you will definitely see it in the future."

Dumbledore looked slightly disappointed: "Okay, if you have a chance, let me see the mechanism you plan to set up."

"This is simple." Calvin opened the ink and poured it into the bowl. Dumbledore smelled dragon's blood, phoenix tears, and at least 17 potion ingredients.

Calvin spread out the white paper and quickly drew on it with a brush filled with special ink. Dumbledore noticed that after the pen in Calvin's hand drew the rough subject, the pen controlled by magic quickly added on it automatically.

The details and this way of painting were something he had never seen in Europe.

"Far Eastern methods?"

About an hour later, Calvin completed two large and small, freehand ink paintings with splashes of ink, then took out the picture frames from his sleeves and framed them.

"Headmaster, this is my mechanism." Calvin said with a smile, two pictures he had just drawn floated behind him. Dumbledore probably recognized them, they should be Thunderbirds and Cat Panther.

"Yes," Dumbledore nodded and praised, "It should be a magic painting technique from the Far East."

"Yes, principal, I have very close communication with Far Eastern wizards. They taught me a lot of local magic. They use magic paintings as bodyguards and stick them on the door to prevent the invasion of dark wizards. But the paintings they draw are from ancient times.

A warrior." Calvin recounted his experiences in the Far East.

Dumbledore became interested in this unheard of protection method and asked, "Then how do they do it?"

"Just like this." Calvin snapped his fingers, and then, the thunderbird and cat and leopard in the painting jumped out of the frame. The thunderbird flapped its wings and the cat and leopard roared, which was extremely majestic.

"In terms of attack power, they are the same as real magical animals. Ordinary wizards can't get through at all. It may not be a big problem for Voldemort, but it can delay him for a while, enough for you to get over." Calvin said to himself

I am very satisfied with the two works.

"Then how should we pass this mechanism?" Dumbledore asked again.

Calvin glanced at Dumbledore and replied hesitantly: "Uh, okay, Professor, I'll just tell you one thing. Just attack their eyes. You don't even need to use the Eye Spell, they will turn into

Two non-threatening paintings. This is common knowledge to wizards from the Far East, but I think few wizards in the UK know about it."

Dumbledore smiled and nodded: "Thank you, Calvin. Go to the auditorium, I will leave this place to you. When I retire, can you help me paint a picture?"

"It's my pleasure, principal." Calvin stood up and snapped his fingers, and Thunderbird and Cat Leopard returned to the paper again, "See you at the dinner party." The two paintings were placed flat on the principal's desk, and Calvin

He left the principal's office with brisk steps, leaving only his endless thoughts to the old principal with a gray beard.

Calvin returned to the auditorium. At this time, professors from Hogwarts also arrived one after another. He knew most of the professors and was deeply impressed by him. The remaining few professors who Calvin had never attended were also happy to meet this outstanding professor.

Young wizards. Many people have a lot in common with Calvin in their professional fields.

The personable Calvin naturally had a brief exchange with these professors. Even so, Calvin still gained a lot. Especially Professor Bathida Barblin, who teaches ancient magic texts, many of her ideas

It is far from the mainstream view, but it coincides with my own.

What a treasure, Hogwarts. Excellent people and rich collection of books. I should come back soon.

Calvin thought.

But not all professors welcomed him so. For example, Professor Trelawney, who taught divination. Calvin clearly saw Professor McGonagall glance at her with disdain and automatically stayed away from Trelawney.

Out of politeness, Calvin stepped forward to say hello to her. Unexpectedly, Trelawney looked at him in horror, muttering "death" and "darkness", and said to Calvin quite seriously: "

Young man, I see ominousness and darkness behind you, you'd better leave Hogwarts as soon as possible." Then he ignored Calvin's outstretched right hand and ran to a small corner of the auditorium alone, making Calvin stand awkwardly.

In situ.

Fortunately, Professor McGonagall came over and eased the embarrassment: "Don't listen to her, she is just pretending. I really don't know why Dumbledore wanted to recruit her. If you ask me, I should leave more opportunities to young people like you.

.”

Calvin responded obediently: "Professor McGonagall, I also have reservations about divination. At Beauxbatons, I decisively gave up the course after discovering that I had no talent for divination. However, I have also seen many real

Masters of divination, none of them are as... downtrodden as Professor Trelawney." At this time, Professor Trelawney stood alone in the corner, covered with shining sequins, pouring a bottle of sherry.

Pour it into your mouth.

Apart from the crazy Divination professor, only the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor was relatively indifferent to Calvin. Professor Quirrell, who smelled like garlic, just shook hands with Calvin and left.

Calvin was very interested in Quirinus Quirrell. Even as far away as Beauxbatons, Calvin had heard legends about Defense Against the Dark Arts classes - this was a cursed subject.

I couldn't help but admire Professor Quirrell. He was really a courageous wizard who was not afraid of Voldemort's curse at all. Even Calvin himself had to weigh it if Dumbledore wanted him to be a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.

Pros and Cons.

What an admirable courage!
