From Flower Vase to Film Emperor in Hollywood
#556 - It's all coincidence
“Hey, Anson!”
Lucas-Wood flashed a big smile, holding a bouquet in his hand, opening his arms to give Anson a big hug.
But Anson stopped him with a look of disgust.
Lucas touched his nose, his smile disappeared, and he returned to his usual aloofness, only then remembering the bouquet in his hand, raising it to hand it to Anson.
A look, and he realized—
This wasn't a bouquet of flowers, but a bouquet of potato chips.
Small bags of original-flavored potato chips clustered together to form a bouquet.
Anson readily took the bouquet, stepped aside, and invited Lucas in.
“Lucas? What are you doing here?”
“Mom? Dad?”
Inside, there was another burst of chaos, all three people were surprised and stunned, the back-and-forth exchanges and conversations making the whole hall seem particularly lively.
But, where was Anson?
Anson quietly returned to the hall, standing behind the sofa, not interrupting the conversation in front of him, quietly observing—
Something, was wrong.
Once, is a coincidence; twice, is a coincidence; three times, is inevitable.
Although Anson couldn't say the reason, he didn't think everything in front of him was a coincidence.
Nora was stunned, "Coincidence."
Anson narrowed his eyes, "Mom, I'm not a seven-year-old child who still believes in Santa Claus, I don't believe that the three of you appeared here without discussing it, so, what happened?"
“No, nothing happened.” Nora shook her head.
Charles laughed, "You caught me secretly putting gifts under the Christmas tree when you were five, and you stopped believing in Santa Claus since then."
“But we didn't lie. Nothing happened, we're here, it really is just a coincidence.”
Charles still had his unhurried style, his calm and composed demeanor was very persuasive, and those words could naturally convince the other party.
However, Anson didn't believe it.
“Dad, tell me, even Christmas can't bring our family together, but by chance, we all appeared in my living room?”
“Please, this isn't a fairy tale.”
“Wait, do I have a terminal illness, but I don't know it yet?”
After saying that, Anson laughed.
Nora helplessly scolded, "Anson."
Anson raised his hands to surrender, only then realizing the potato chip bouquet in his hand, "And this, Lucas, this is definitely not a gift you bought casually, right?"
Nora glared and turned to scold, "Lucas-Wood, how many times have I told you, that's junk food, don't let Anson eat too much."
Lucas didn't say anything, obediently taking the scolding.
Anson was stunned—
Right, if it was arranged in advance, Lucas would never bring this gift, knowing that Nora doesn't like it, isn't that foolishly walking into the line of fire?
Could it be that everything really is a coincidence?
After all, things are often more coincidental than fiction.
But, what's with that lingering sense of strangeness?
Charles gently patted Nora, gesturing to Anson with his eyes, Nora then paused her nagging, and Charles looked at Anson again.
“Since we're all here, it seems we can arrange a family lunch today, how about it, do you have time to spare, to get together with us?”
“By the way, last time, didn't you say you were considering moving, to see if you should buy a property, since we're all here today, why not help you with some advice.”
Everything normal.
Charles unconsciously brought the topic back on track, and could see the expectation flickering in Nora's eyes, faintly cheering up.
All eyes, fell on Anson.
However.
Anson looked at Lucas, calling out.
“Lucas.”
Lucas looked up, looking at Anson's clear and bright eyes, he gently raised his eyebrows, sending out an inquiry with his eyes, more direct and sharper than words.
Lucas sighed softly.
“It's me.”
Nora exclaimed, "Lucas!"
Charles covered his forehead and looked up at the sky, "Oh."
Anson, "Aha! I knew it, something was wrong, how could it be such a coincidence! Your acting is so good, I almost got fooled, now I finally know where my acting genes come from, Mom, are you sure you're not going to audition for two roles in Hollywood?"
Nora couldn't help but laugh.
Lucas looked at his parents, "Anson has already seen through it, there's no point in continuing to deny it."
So, what exactly is going on?
Lucas turned his head again, the face that usually had no special expression removed its mask, revealing a little worry at this time, his eyes falling on Anson.
Anson: Me?
Lucas nodded, "I saw all the news on TMZ."
“Your roommates, Hayden Christensen, and Brad Renfro, did something happen between you? Did they hurt you?”
Anson was stunned, subconsciously denying, "No…"
But Lucas didn't believe it, "So where are they? Where are they now? If they have a clear conscience, if nothing happened between you, we can meet them."
“Lucas, they're my friends, why would I introduce you to them.”
“Indeed, if you specifically introduce them, it does seem a little strange; but it's not now, we're here, we're visiting your home, saying hello when we meet, there's nothing strange about that, right.”
“They, they moved.”
“Why did they move?”
“Lucas, there's no need for us to investigate the reasons why they moved.”
“Yes, I don't care about the reasons why they moved, but if they dare to hurt you, let me tell you, this matter won't end so easily.”
Suddenly, Anson's heart was struck.
Anson could feel Lucas's anger and anxiety, behind those surging emotions was full of concern and worry, instantly hitting him.
Anson couldn't help but be stunned, "What if it's my fault?"
Lucas shook his head, "I don't care, no one can hurt my brother, no one! So, let them come out, I want to have a heart-to-heart with them."
However, Anson sat there blankly as if struck by lightning.
It turned out that there really are people in this world who unconditionally stand by your side, no matter what happens, no matter what the situation, they stand behind you, not hesitating to fight the whole world with you.
The bitterness and scars of those long years in the previous life swept in like a tsunami, unreasonably collapsing the defense line, catching Anson off guard.
Without warning, his nose felt a twinge of soreness.
Nora looked worried, "Anson, what happened?"
Anson was a little embarrassed.
He realized that his eyes were a little warm, and quickly took a deep breath, looking up at the ceiling, "No, nothing happened."
“Anson!” Lucas exclaimed.
Anson showed a smile because of this call, the smile completely bloomed, it was happiness, the joy and satisfaction from the depths of his heart instantly occupied his entire chest.
“Lucas, even if something really happened, it would be me bullying them, when would it be someone else's turn to bully me. Ah, a little disappointed, you actually thought I was the victim.”
Lucas: Uh, this.
Could not help scratching his head.
Charles and Nora both looked at Lucas, but their eyes still turned to Anson, expressing concern with their eyes.
The smile on Anson's lips completely raised, "Really, I am now the Darth Vader of Hollywood."
