I felt mixed emotions when I wrote the words "The Book is Finished".

To be honest, I personally felt that I ended the book a little hastily.

But as mentioned in the last chapter, "history should be rough rather than detailed". If I write too much about the process of the war of gods and the details of the various things that happened in the world during the war of gods, it would expose my lack of ability.

I personally feel that I lost control of the plot in the later period. I wanted to write a lot, but when I really wrote it, I felt like I was hitting the nail on the head, and the result was far from my original intention.

I don't know how you feel when reading the fifth volume of the original "Ice and Fire". After I started writing, I felt a sense of fatigue between the lines of Martin's fifth volume.

There are more and more details that I want to enrich, and more and more settings that I want to add. It is difficult to keep the flesh and blood of the characters at this time.

I can't do it no matter how hard I try.

So I tried to abbreviate as much as possible in the later period, making the characters instrumental, stereotyping the characters, and simplifying the plot. Everything is to promote the plot.

If I were to say what I felt most deeply after finishing writing, it would probably be that the original novel of "Ice and Fire" might be far away from completion. Old Martin laid out too many loose threads, but the fourth and fifth volumes not only did not retract them, but instead tried hard to add vivid details to the world.

The fifth volume of the original novel only had two skeletons, Jon's plot line and Meereen Knot, which were hardly fascinating, as the plot threads. I can't imagine how the sixth volume would retract the foreshadowing according to the chapters leaked by Martin, instead of filling the already dug holes with more holes.

I personally think that although "Blood and Fire" is talked about with great relish because of this chapter, for "Ice and Fire", perhaps turning this chapter into "Blood and Fire" is the key for Martin to finish the book.

Alas, I can only say that I wish Martin a long life. I really hope to see the ending of "Ice and Fire" in my lifetime.

Although the ending is a bit sloppy and hasty, to be honest, from my personal point of view, I think it is better to stop abruptly than to continue writing.

I don’t know if you have noticed that in the later stages of the plot, I often avoid having a protagonist who is too powerful appear in the plot, and only let him act as a tool to promote the plot and create difficulties for other supporting characters.

To be honest, the plot involving the protagonist is the most difficult and least pleasing to write, because the author has many personal settings, and the author needs to coordinate the style of the original work for the plot involving the protagonist. But it is difficult for the protagonist to match the style of the original work after he becomes powerful.

I can only give a low score for this ending, but this is the first time I have written a million-word online article, and at least there is an ending, so I can consider it a pass.
