In early June, in
Jinling Medical University, in the professor’s office,
Zhou Jin flipped through the latest issue of Cell, one of the world’s top academic journals.
Every paper published in Cell represents the most cutting-edge level in today’s medical field.
After reading a few papers, he secretly admired them.
The quality of these papers is very top-notch.
Suddenly… a paper titled”A new generation of immune checkpoint inhibitors is about to emerge” caught his attention.
The author of the paper is Zhao Yan, a student from Suzhou University in Xiaguo.
In the paper, Zhao Yan and his team found that
NKG2A antibodies, as a new type of immune checkpoint inhibitor, can potentially promote the anti-tumor ability of T cells and natural killer cells (NK cells), and when combined with existing cancer immunotherapy, can better treat cancer patients.
The key to this study lies in a receptor molecule called NKG2A.
Zhao Yan’s team found that blocking this receptor can enhance the immune activity of NK cells and T cells in mice, thereby improving anti-tumor immune responses.
To this end, they developed an NKG2A antibody called Monalizumab.
It is a humanized monoclonal antibody.
In the experiment, Zhao Yan’s team divided the mice into four groups. The first group of mice was given only Monalizumab monoclonal antibody, the second group of mice was given only PD-L1 monoclonal antibody, the third group of mice was given a combination of Monalizumab monoclonal antibody and PD-L1 monoclonal antibody, and the fourth group of mice served as the control group.
These mice were previously inoculated with B-cell lymphoma cells by subcutaneous injection.
They found that compared with the control group, only PD-L1 monoclonal antibody could allow up to 40% of mice to survive, and Monalizumab monoclonal antibody alone did not bring significant anti-cancer effects, but the combination of these two monoclonal antibodies could allow up to 75% of mice to survive, which revealed that the combination of NKG2A monoclonal antibodies has a strong anti-cancer potential.
In human clinical trials.
Zhao Yan’s team divided 30 patients with squamous cell head and neck cancer into multiple groups and gave them different doses of Monalizumab monoclonal antibody.
The results of clinical trials showed that
Monalizumab monoclonal antibody is very safe, and the most common adverse reactions are fatigue, fever and headache.
As can be seen.
As a new type of immune checkpoint inhibitor.
NKG2A antibody can promote anti-tumor immune response by enhancing the activity of T cells and NK cells, as a supplement to the first generation of cancer immunotherapy.
After reading the whole paper,
Zhou Jin was amazed.
The paper of Zhao Yan’s team is of very high standard.
Obviously, the Cell journal also took this into consideration and published this extremely valuable paper.
……
Next,
Zhou Jin continued to read the Cell journal. He was stunned to see that many of the authors of the papers in this week’s journal were from Suzhou University.
《Cell: Transduction pathways from nasal mucosal sensory nerve fibers to brainstem respiratory nuclei》——First author of the paper: Liu Qi (Soochow University)
《Cell: New map provides new insights into how genes work in early embryonic development》——First author of the paper: Tong Rui (Soochow University)

《Cell: With aging, hematopoietic stem cells produce highly reactive secondary platelet skirts, leading to increased coagulation》——First author of the paper: Fang Lingling (Soochow University)
……
In this week’s journal, there are at least 15 medical papers by students of Suzhou University.
Zhou Jin was speechless.
As a top academic journal with an impact factor of 33.116, every paper published is the most cutting-edge scientific research results in the academic world.
But now… students of Suzhou University seem to have 15 papers published as easily as eating and drinking water.
Are they so amazing?
……
With great curiosity, Zhou Jin quickly opened the latest issue of Nature and Science.
《Science: New research finds that NLRC5 triggers a wide range of cell apoptosis mechanisms》——First author of the paper: Shen Chao (Soochow University)
《Science: Primitive endoderm stem cells have amazing self-regeneration potential and can actually rebuild embryos》——First author of the paper: Li Mo (Soochow University)

《Nature: Single-cell sequencing applied to construct spatiotemporal dynamic map of macrophage development》——First author of the paper: Dong Jun (Soochow University)
……
After reading a series of papers,
Zhou Jin was already amazed.
He roughly counted them.
In this week’s”Science” journal, there are 12 papers from students of Suzhou University.
In this week’s”Nature” journal, there are 20 papers from Suzhou University, 10 of which are from Chen Yu, an associate professor of Suzhou University, and the remaining 10 are from students of Suzhou University.
This is really too exaggerated!
……
At the same time, domestic experts and scholars were discussing Suzhou University.
Not counting Chen Yu’s 10 Nature papers, this week, Suzhou University students published 37 CNS papers, which is ridiculous!
Scholars were shocked and relieved.
What was shocking was that the academic level of Suzhou University students had suddenly improved dramatically, which was astonishing.
What was gratifying was that the higher the medical level of Suzhou University students was, the higher the academic level of the entire Xia country would be.
……
In contrast, the domestic higher education community has astonished students.
What’s going on?
This month, 37 medical papers by Soochow University students have been included in CNS journals?
In their general impression, students focus on GPA in their freshman year, competitions in their sophomore year, and papers in their junior year. If you have published an article in CNS journals during your undergraduate studies, you are a well-deserved academic master.
If you have published an article in CNS journals during your master’s studies, you are the mentor’s favorite son and the face of the school. If you have published an article in CNS journals during your doctoral studies, it is easy to go to a famous foreign university for further studies.
But these Soochow University students are all medical undergraduates!
Do you have to be so arrogant?
Are you all cheating?!
