Golden Fishery

Six hundred and twenty-five. The foundation of the fishery biological chain (five/five)

When Qin Shiou returned to the fishing ground, the Harvest had just entered the port, and the Farewell was about to set off.

Butler called and asked him to prepare the third batch of fish catches. They had already made word of mouth throughout New York State, and it was time to enter Miami.

Fishing in fishing grounds is not the same thing as fishing on the high seas. The fish in the fishing grounds are our own. We can only catch large enough fish and let the small fish go. Therefore, the work is tiring. After catching the fish, they have to be sorted, and those that do not meet the fishing conditions are returned to the sea.

Fishing on the high seas is simple. Choose a fishing net with a suitable mesh according to the requirements of the Ministry of Fisheries, and then lower the net to catch it. No matter what it catches, the Ministry of Fisheries will not check carefully if big fish and small fish are piled up together.

Because of the lessons learned from the Newfoundland fishing grounds, Canada has relatively strict control over the fishing industry, and fishing boats will choose fishing nets honestly and in accordance with regulations when they go to sea. In countries such as Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines, their fishing boats all choose the smallest mesh caliber, and when they encounter fish schools, they will be completely wiped out.

There were more than a dozen fishermen on the fishing boat, and Qin Shiou dispatched the Farewell because it didn't take so much labor on one boat. Anyway, this boat was a trawling yacht, and it was very suitable for fishing.

Qin Shiou stopped the car and went to the Harvest to take a look. The catch was good again. The Atlantic cod and haddock inside were fat and strong, with a delicate soft light emitting from the whole body. At first glance, they were good fish with good meat quality.

However, single farming in the fishery is not enough. There is not much output in crabs, lobsters and shellfish. Qin Shiou decided to raise crabs in the next step. Shellfish can be put on hold for a while, don't worry.

The fishermen transported boxes of catches to the freezer, and Qin Shiou went to pack his breakfast dishes.

Porcini mushrooms soaked in oil are simple. After washing, he took it out to dry, and Qin Shiou set up a stand in front of the villa, cut the boletus into strips and placed them in the sun.

Xiong Da thought it was something delicious, so he stood beside the bracket with his head held high and sniffed vigorously.

Qin Shiou went up and gave it a slap, and said, "Go to sleep on your stomach under the tree, don't knock it over, or you won't have dinner for three days!"

Xiong Da walked away unhappy. But it found Dabai behind it, and Dabai understood the meaning as soon as he shook his head. Cleverly climbed up the support and took a boletus to eat for it.

The boletus was undercooked and tasted so-so. After chewing it, Xiong Da opened his mouth and spit out the tasteless boletus. He leisurely climbed under the tree and dozed off against the trunk.

Pickled pepper mountain mushrooms can be cooked and eaten immediately. Qin Shiou took out the pickled peppers from the refrigerator, and he selected a large number of plump, yellow-green pickled peppers.

Remove the stalks and wash off the excess chili seeds, and marinate the whole with vinegar and soy sauce.

Mountain shiitake mushrooms need to be boiled in water first, and a little salt is added to them when cooking. Qin Shiou's mother used to make this dish, so he is familiar with it. After cooking, he dried it in the sun. Then mix pickled peppers and pour vinegar and soy sauce to marinate.

Chicken essence is not used to make this dish, because the shiitake mushrooms have umami taste by themselves, after being marinated with salty, spicy and sour. Just a good dish.

Qin Shiou found a kimchi jar to put it in, sniffed it and thought it tasted good, he patted the jar with satisfaction and put it in the corner of the kitchen.

The squirrel Xiaoming ran in bouncingly and gave him a pine nut to eat, which was regarded as a communication of feelings.

Qin Shiou made a small portion of fruit salad and put it on the ground, Xiao Ming ran out to call friends. Run in with the little ground squirrel family to enjoy this feast together.

For the little ground squirrel's family, Qin Shiou had a headache. These little guys are cute and well-behaved, but they have a depressing hobby, which is making holes.

The small ground squirrels made holes in the ground of the fishing ground, and the big geese would sink a sole of their feet from time to time. The geese were fat, heavy and inertial, so it was easy to twist their legs and feet.

Qin Shiou had no way to deal with this problem, so he had to put it on the back of his mind, lay side by side with Xiong Da under the maple tree, and put the sea god consciousness into the fishing ground.

This year the fishing ground is more lively. High-quality seaweed attracts more fish. Some small fish hatched in the fishing ground. They did not return to the deep sea like their ancestors did, but stayed in the fishing ground, such as capelin .

Capelin fishes are weird by nature. They go ashore to lay eggs. After hatching, the small fish are brought back to the sea by the waves, and then the main force will enter the deep sea. However, some of them will swim into the river water for unknown reasons and become freshwater fish.

After the capelin spawned on the coast of the fishing ground last time, the waves swept in and brought the fish's fertilized eggs into the water, which had already hatched. Now after two or three months, the small fish have grown into adults.

This is the change of capelin in fishing grounds. Normal capelin grows slowly. It takes at least half a year for a small fry to grow into an adult fish. If it is in the cold deep sea, it will take more than eight months. But in the fishing ground, the time is shortened. More than half.

Of course, even if the capelin is mature, it is only seven or eight centimeters long.

Qin Shiou welcomes the capelin to stay. Because of its small size and average economic value, this kind of fish is not without nutrition, but it is not easy to catch, and the catch is also small. Except for the annual breeding season, it is difficult to find capelin schools.

However, according to the regulations of the Canadian Fisheries Law, no matter what kind of fish, even the fishes that are listed as prohibited in North America, no matter what kind of fish they are, they are not allowed to be caught during the breeding period.

In this way, if the fish is too small, the mesh of the fishing net is small, but for deep-sea fishing boats, they do not carry small-mesh fishing nets, so it happens that capelin lives in the deep sea, so it is very difficult to catch capelin brought up.

But for fishing grounds, capelin is a very suitable bottom food chain organism. They are easy to carry fish roe, and they are delicacies in the mouth of all carnivorous fish. They are rich in nutrition and are more suitable for cod, salmon, Bait for tuna.

In order to protect these capelin fishes, Qin Shiou had to gather them together and instill them with the energy of the sea god.

In addition, he chose a group of fish to live in the estuary of the Kanbal Mountain River, because the current here is so fast that large fish will not approach easily, and even if they come, they are not afraid. Capelin can migrate into freshwater rivers for refuge.

After instilling the sea god's energy into the capelin fish he met, Qin Shiou went to look at the waters at the mouth of the sea, and found something wrong.

The capelin was so delicious that it attracted swarms of sharpbills!

As the name suggests, the sharp-billed fish is a fish with a pointed mouth. There are many fish with this name in the ocean, but in Newfoundland, this name refers to a specific fish, that is, the alligator-shaped fork-tailed crane.

The name of the zhen (zhen) fish comes from their peculiar mouth shape. The upper jaw is short and triangular, and the lower jaw is super long like a needle. They generally inhabit the middle and upper layers of coastal seas and estuaries, and can also enter fresh water. They mainly eat green Algae, plankton and small crustaceans and other animals.

Most squids are relatively short in size, but the crocodile-shaped fork-tailed crane is a different species, which can grow up to one and a half meters. They are very ferocious, and they can be called "snakes" in the ocean. Their image, personality and predation methods are similar.

For various reasons, the capelin is the favorite food of the sharp-billed fish, so when the sharp-billed fish appears in the waters of the estuary, the capelin is in danger. (to be continued)
