Chapter 929: Fuyao enters orbit
Chapter 929 Fuyao enters orbit~
PS: I wish you all a happy National Day~
In a large conference room in Wanda Plaza, the launch meeting for the official operation of the porous liquefied DAC carbon dioxide collector transformation project was held.
First, the head of Jinling City came on stage and gave a brief speech on the entire project.
He expressed that Jinling City will carry out urban transformation projects in the next few years and strive to make Jinling City the first livable city with "artificial control" to benefit the people.
For Jinling City, affected by the cheap electricity brought by the first landing of controlled nuclear fusion technology, it has actually been siphoning population and talents from surrounding cities and even all over the country in recent years.
However, the reason why large cities can retain population and talents is not only the most important wage level, but also many other factors, such as relatively cheap daily necessities, food, clothing, housing, transportation, convenient transportation and other factors that can be artificially controlled.
There are also factors such as whether the city is livable, climate temperature and so on.
And these are often things that cannot be changed by human power.
But now, Jinling City has a "card" to play. That is, through urban transformation, artificially control the temperature of the city and create a livable city.
Perhaps in the short term, before the large-scale urban transformation is formed, it is difficult to see the obvious effect, but as a "city feature" to attract talents, it is enough.
After the head of Jinling City came on stage to send blessings to the urban transformation project, Xu Chuan also went up to speak a few words, expressing praise and blessings for the livable city that Jinling intends to build.
In fact, regardless of whether the city leaders here saw his face before coming on stage for the porous liquefied DAC carbon dioxide collector urban transformation project, they did have the idea of building a livable super city.
Regardless of the reason, this kind of project will benefit the tens of millions of ordinary people living in this city.
Even large-scale greening actions such as the city's greening are beneficial to urban residents in order to cooperate with the porous liquefied DAC carbon dioxide collector.
For this kind of project that benefits the general public, he really doesn't mind going up to support it and stand on the stage, and he is even quite happy.
However, for him, compared with transforming a city, he is more interested in the detailed trial operation data of the porous liquefied DAC carbon dioxide collector.
After declining the invitation from the Jinling city leaders to have lunch together, Xu Chuan returned to the Xinghai Research Institute with these experimental data.
Although the porous liquefied DAC carbon dioxide collector deployed on the high-rise building outside was officially put into operation today, the trial operation data collected before was enough for him to understand some of the situation.
"Siyi, help me hand over these data to the Information Research Institute, and let Zhou Ji arrange a few people to build a mathematical model in a targeted manner, and refer to the climate data of the entire Jinling city in the past ten years to make a simulation to see the impact of the urban transformation project on the urban area of Jinling."
"Focus on two aspects of calculation. One is the impact of the temperature of the city after the amount of carbon dioxide is reduced. Calculate Hexi New City and the entire Jinling city separately."
"The second is to calculate the impact of the collector on the warm air flow of the urban heat island effect under the promotion of maximum power, and calculate how many large carbon dioxide collectors are needed to affect the flow of 30%, 50%, and 75% of the air flow nodes in the entire city."
In the assistant room, Shen Siyi took the USB flash drive to save the data, and quickly wrote down a few key words in the shorthand notebook.
After confirming that there was no problem, she looked up and asked, "Is there any other information that needs to be supplemented? Professor."
Xu Chuan thought about it and shook his head and said, "No for now."
He originally wanted the Information Research Institute to simulate and calculate the impact of using a porous liquefied DAC carbon dioxide trap on the Martian atmosphere.
But the current content of the Martian atmosphere and greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane, as well as the resources such as carbon dioxide that may be stored in the earth's crust, are still uncertain values.
Although NASA's Perseverance and other Mars rovers have collected some data before, those data are not very detailed and complete.
If you really want to transform the atmosphere of Mars through a carbon dioxide trap, I'm afraid you still need to wait for the Fuyao space shuttle to send back complete and detailed data.
There is not much point in calculating now.
If the amount of dry ice and carbon dioxide contained in the soil is too large, then everything will have to be overturned and started over.
"Okay, professor."
Shen Siyi nodded, responded, and then continued: "Also, Director Weng Yunzong from the Aerospace Research Institute came just now and asked you to go there after you come back. It's related to the Fuyao space shuttle."
Hearing this, Xu Chuan's mind moved, and he calculated the time. It seemed to be about time.
Nodding, he said, "Okay, I know."
Before entering the office, Xu Chuan turned around and walked towards the Aerospace Research Institute.
Knocking on the door of Weng Yunzong's office, he walked in with a smile.
In the office, Weng Yunzong, who was staring at the computer screen, looked up after hearing the noise, and stood up with a smile after seeing Xu Chuan.
"Academician Xu, you're back."
Xu Chuan smiled and nodded, saying hello: "Well, I just came back, and I haven't even entered the office yet, but I heard that you have something to ask me. Has the Fuyao reached the orbit of Mars?"
Weng Yunzong smiled and stood up to make tea himself, and replied: "Well, we have successfully arrived at the near-Earth orbit of Mars, and are working on deploying relevant detection equipment."
"In addition, the first batch of ultra-high-definition images of Mars have been sent back. Do you want to see it?"
"Of course!" Xu Chuan replied with interest.
After making two cups of tea, Weng Yunzong turned on the computer and called up the photos of Mars that were sent back.
"These photos have been sent to you via email a few hours ago, but I think you haven't had time to see them yet."
Xu Chuan walked over, took the seat and sat in front of the computer.
In the folder he clicked on, the pictures covering the entire page came into his eyes.
He touched the mouse and double-clicked the first picture. This was a picture taken hundreds of thousands of kilometers away when the Fuyao space shuttle had not yet reached the orbit of Mars.
Yellow and yellow-brown rocks and soil, as well as the white ice caps at the north and south poles of Mars, constitute this complete picture of Mars.
It seems to be different from the impression of Mars in most ordinary people, or the pictures of Mars seen on the Internet.
In the impression of most ordinary people, the soil on the surface of Mars contains a lot of iron oxide, which turns red after long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays. It should look like a red, cold planet.
Most of the pictures related to Mars on the Internet, including those taken by the Hubble Telescope and other astronomical telescopes, basically have similar colors.
But the pictures taken by the Fuyao space shuttle are somewhat different.
In this picture, the surface of Mars is not so red, but more yellow and yellow-brown. The iron oxide in the soil on the surface of Mars does not seem to be reddish.
Of course, this does not mean that there is a problem with the photos taken in the past, nor does it mean that the photos taken by Fuyao are wrong, nor does it mean that the situation on the surface of Mars has changed.
This is just the difference caused by imaging through different shooting techniques.
Pictures after pictures flashed in Xu Chuan's eyes, from far to near, the number of photos taken by the Fuyao space shuttle in the process of approaching Mars was not actually very large.
This is mainly affected by shooting technology.
It is completely different from the conventional way of shooting. Ordinary people usually take pictures by holding their mobile phones and cameras and pointing them at the scenery. As long as you have a fast hand speed or set the automatic shooting, it is easy to take hundreds of photos in one minute.
But in the distant space, it often takes a lot of time to take a high-definition picture of a planet.
For example, the core principle of the Hubble telescope in taking high-definition pictures of planets is to collect and focus light through the optical system, and then convert it into electrical signals and record it.
It adopts the Ritchie-Chretien-Cassegrain optical layout. The incident light is first reflected from the primary mirror to the secondary mirror, and the secondary mirror reflects the light again through a small hole on the primary mirror to reach the focal plane shared by a group of scientific instruments, thereby generating an image.
On the Fuyao space shuttle, the space telescope advanced survey camera, wide-area camera, imaging spectrometer and other shooting equipment are carried.
These devices all work within a specific wavelength range, and work together to collect optical data of Mars, and then convert it into electrical signals to form pictures.
And another important factor is "exposure control".
Although there are enough stars in the starry sky, the starry sky is still too dim for the camera.
Almost all astronomical telescopes require long exposures to collect enough photons. The longer the exposure time, the more photons are obtained, and the clearer and more perfect the photos are.
This is also an important reason for limiting the number of ultra-high-definition Mars photos taken.
However, as the distance to Mars is shortened, when the conventional optical ultra-high-definition camera array enters the working range, the number of photos taken will increase sharply.
Among these photos, Xu Chuan is most interested in the pictures of the two poles of Mars.
Like the Earth, the rotation orbit of Mars also has a rotation inclination, which is close to that of the Earth.
The rotation inclination of the Earth is about 23.5 degrees, while that of Mars is about 25.19 degrees.
However, since Mars does not have a huge satellite like the Moon to maintain the stability of its rotation axis, the rotation inclination will change, ranging from 13 degrees to 40 degrees, with a period of tens of millions of years.
What interests Xu Chuan is the size of the ice caps at the north and south poles of Mars!
In one of the panoramic views of Mars, he can clearly see a large area of white on the tilted backlit surface of the South Pole of Mars.
That is similar to the ice caps at the North and South Poles of the Earth, but unlike the water ice caps on Earth, the ice caps at the North and South Poles of Mars are mainly composed of carbon dioxide and methane.
Its quantity will largely determine the way humans will migrate to Mars in the future.
