#117 - New Exercises
Chapter 117: New Training Method
Recently, Allen had squeezed some more information out of Phillip regarding physical training, and thus began another period of his frenzied workouts.
To say 'squeezed' isn't entirely accurate; it's more that his concern for Phillip over these past few days was sufficient to prompt the latter to reveal some things out of gratitude.
This concern stemmed from taking care of Phillip's daily life, though not in *that* way.
Didn't Allen say he wanted four of the human slaves to start families? The first was Phillip, allowing him to choose one of the four female humans to be his entertainment partner in bed.
This partner's name in human society seemed to be 'wife.' Phillip, in any case, couldn't return to the estate he constantly talked about, and was gradually adapting to life in the wilderness. Having someone to accompany him was naturally something he wouldn't refuse.
The female humans who were deemed worthy by the slave trading company and brought to the Elf Kingdom to be sold were naturally not bad in appearance. You must know that the Elf Kingdom is a place filled with handsome men and beautiful women. Any elf placed in other civilizations would be considered a beauty.
Phillip could be considered to have benefited from misfortune. After having this important component of a family, his back ached and he could barely walk every morning.
Allen wouldn't show consideration for his newlywed joy and reduce his workload. He was still made to do everything else.
During this time, if Phillip did something wrong or tried to slack off, Allen's punishment was never light.
In order to receive fewer punishments, Phillip could only reveal a little about training methods to Allen, hoping that this green-skinned orc who didn't understand beauty and possessed an abundance of energy would quickly use these training methods to expend his boundless energy and physical strength.
"Where's Big Mountain? What excuse did he come up with today?"
After lunch, it was time for the tribe to rest, as this was the hottest time in the wilderness. With nothing to do, Allen planned to call Big Mountain, Ah Xiao, and Flower Snake to go out with him and hone their bodies.
At the village entrance, Flower Snake, Ah Xiao, and the others were present, but Big Mountain was missing. A few dark clouds hung over Allen's face.
"Oh, he said his kid was crying badly, so he's helping to soothe the child!"
Flower Snake stepped forward to speak for Big Mountain.
"He really has a lot of excuses these days!"
Since it was for the sake of his child, Allen really couldn't say much. He didn't dare go to these guys' homes anymore. Going to their homes was so lively, with the children's crying making you feel irritated. The females were also bolder at this time, daring to order the males to do this and that. It's odd, usually everyone would get a headache when they saw children, but now, facing their own bloodline, these guys seemed to have changed their personalities, completely lacking their previous casual attitude towards the young ones.
Perhaps, this was the natural closeness that came from blood?
Allen had brought this situation upon himself, so he naturally shouldn't express too many opinions on this matter. Since Big Mountain found this excuse to prevaricate, then so be it. Strength was his own; Allen couldn't force Big Mountain to improve all the time.
"What about you guys? Can you manage things at home?"
Allen turned around and looked at Flower Snake and the others. Recently, many families had added members, so the most common sound you heard when you wandered around Green Lake Village was the full-bodied crying of the young ones.
"It's alright. My little guy just eats and sleeps all day long; he doesn't cause any trouble."
Black Head scratched his head innocently, with a kind smile on his face.
"The woman is watching over things at home!"
"Isn't someone taking care of things during the day? I can't help much by staying there."
The others each had their own reasons, but the faint attachment and joy on their faces couldn't be concealed.
"Alright."
Anyway, Allen didn't plan to learn from them. He still felt that living alone was more comfortable, mainly because it was peaceful. He could sleep until dawn without being disturbed.
Arriving at Green Lake, the group took off their clothes, then took out several prepared sandbags, tying them to their hands and feet. With splashes, they jumped into the lake, and after thrashing around on the surface a few times, they disappeared into the lake, remaining still for a long time, until the entire lake surface returned to calm.
The bottom of the lake was not calm. Green Lake seemed shallow but was actually 6-7 meters at its deepest point, but it was mostly filled with silt and sand, so the deepest part was now less than 5 meters. Allen and the others were diving deep into the lake, ostensibly to exercise their bodies, but actually more to dig up the silt to make fertilizer.
According to Allen, digging mud at the bottom of the lake could not only exercise the body and hone the will but also create more fertilizer for the tribe's growing fields, helping the crops grow better.
Just this month, the first batch of carefully cultivated oats had a great harvest. Perhaps these oat seeds had indeed undergone Master Oscar's divine magic modification, allowing them to grow in the barren wilderness.
When the farmers and florists dried them and stored them grain by grain in the warehouse, Allen didn't know where he found a balance scale. Finally, he weighed the harvest from these 3-4 acres of land and found it to be about 700 pounds of grain.
This was much more cost-effective than the wilderness people guarding those few hardy peach trees every day. At least the land in the wilderness was free, and you could reclaim and plant it anywhere. And there was at most 1 hardy peach tree within a ten-mile radius. Who could harvest more grain was obvious.
Precisely because of this harvest, Allen had greatly improved the treatment of the farmers and horticulturists. Originally, he had planned to let the stonemason choose a partner, but Allen gave all the quotas to the burly farmers and horticulturists. And these humans seemed to have seen the light, knowing that escape was unlikely, so they settled down and were not only not refusing the wives Allen gave them, but were also grateful, as if they had taken advantage of something.
Thinking carefully, these guys really did take a big advantage. If they were still living in their homeland, they probably wouldn't be looked upon by these beautiful human females. But now, the human females had the lowest status in the tribe, without any say, let alone the right to choose. They could only obediently listen to the arrangements of this green-skinned orc and become wives to these middle-aged men with skills.
The farmers and horticulturists not only gained long-lost limited freedom but also had beautiful wives and private houses to live in. Although they might still occasionally worry about their personal safety, it was much better than the previous slave life, when they couldn't see any hope.
With the motivation to live on, the powerful adaptability of humans allowed them to work harder. In order to do their jobs well, they gave Allen many suggestions, which were much more proactive than in the beginning. One of them was to dig up the silt in the lake to fertilize the fields. Coincidentally, the training method that Phillip told Allen was related to water. This was a win-win situation, and Allen, based on the principle of not doing the work alone, called Flower Snake, Ah Xiao, and the others to dive to the bottom of the lake and begin their so-called training.
