#122 - Allen comes to the rescue
Chapter 122: Allen's Arrival
Flower Snake gasped for breath, running wildly through the wilderness. Behind him, two ogres were also panting heavily, but they still didn't give up chasing Flower Snake.
Moreover, while Flower Snake was fleeing, he kept hearing the ogres chasing behind him muttering to themselves: "100 pounds, 100 pounds!!"
Although he didn't know what this meant, Flower Snake was too exhausted to think about it. Several times he was almost intercepted by the two ogres acting separately. Flower Snake desperately used his agility and fought them head-on twice before barely escaping their encirclement. These few unavoidable encounters allowed Flower Snake to gauge the strength of the two ogres.
The leading ogre was definitely a powerful enemy comparable to Allen's strength. Not only was he tall and strong, but the fat on his body greatly increased his defense. When Flower Snake stabbed him with a dagger, he didn't even see blood come out, and the ogre seemed unaffected. The other ogre, apart from looking intimidating, was only at the level of a peak level 8 warrior. The only thing Flower Snake needed to be wary of was his innate strength. His physical strength alone was stronger than Allen's when he wasn't using his Rage.
Flower Snake seized this opportunity. Even when the two ogres surrounded him, he no longer panicked. He chose to exchange blows with the weaker opponent and then took the opportunity to break through. In this stalemate, Flower Snake led the two ogres in circles in the wilderness, enduring for more than two magic hours, and finally waited for his reinforcements: Allen, who was rushing from Green Lake.
Flower Snake's speed was good for bursts, but in long-distance running, he might be stronger than ordinary Kobolds, but he was really not much faster than the two tall, long-legged, and incredibly enduring ogres behind him. This was why he had been unable to shake off his pursuers and could only persevere.
Fortunately, Flower Snake was smart. Seeing that his tribesmen were not being chased, he knew that they would definitely report to Allen. Therefore, he led the two ogres in a circle to the vicinity of Green Lake, thinking that Allen would soon find him.
Sure enough, when the tribesmen who had fled back to the village breathlessly reported to Allen that Flower Snake was being chased by two ogres, Allen immediately picked up his two-handed sword and rushed out of the village.
After Flower Snake's advancement, his importance greatly increased. His combat power was very important to Green Meadow, which was threatened by the Shattered Bone Tribe, so Allen could not sit idly by and watch him being chased by ogres.
On the way, Allen kept thinking about why these two ogres would appear in his territory. As a race as gluttonous and lazy as the Kobolds, it was less that their sense of territory was extremely strong, but more that they were too lazy to change territory. Two ogres suddenly attacking the Green Meadow tribe could only be explained by being lured by some prey or being driven out by their original tribe, otherwise they would generally not cross into unfamiliar territory.
However, after thinking about it, Allen couldn't figure it out. Instead, only a dozen miles outside the Green Lake boundary, Allen discovered two tall figures appearing on the horizon. Allen didn't hesitate and immediately chased after them, and soon caught up with Flower Snake and the ogres near Green Lake, and head-on drew his greatsword and slashed at one of the ogres.
"Chieftain, be careful! The ogre you're fighting is no weaker than you!!"
With Allen's support, Flower Snake finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had run nearly 40 miles. Fortunately, he had been tempering with Allen at the bottom of the lake these days, which greatly increased Flower Snake's endurance and stamina, otherwise he might not have been able to persevere. Fearing that Allen would underestimate the enemy and suffer, Flower Snake did not forget to remind Allen while panting.
"Don't worry!!"
Allen was not unprepared either. The fact that Flower Snake, who excelled in speed and agility, was in such a sorry state at least showed that the two ogres chasing him were powerful. This was also what Allen couldn't understand. Ogres with such strength would not go hungry or be driven out of their tribe, but now they appeared in Green Meadow's territory, which was very strange.
"Hahaha, damn green skin, I want to take your head and exchange it for my favorite honey!!!"
The ogre facing Allen was not flustered at all, even a little excited. Seeing the greatsword reaching not far in front of him, he gently waved his wrist, and the giant wooden club crashed head-on with a violent gust of wind.
"Clang!!"
The greatsword penetrated three or four inches into the wooden club. Allen, caught off guard, was swept away by the club along with his sword. He inserted his longsword into the ground and drew a deep mark on the ground, retreating more than ten feet before completely dissipating the shock from the blow. Of course, the ogre opposite him didn't get any advantage either. The shock of the impact almost made him unable to hold the wooden club, and the recoiling club hit the ogre himself, leaving a red mark on his gray-white body.
"You, aren't you the green-skin chieftain Allen?"
The ogre suddenly turned to Flower Snake, and the words he asked not only confused Flower Snake, but also puzzled Allen.
"No, the one in front of you is our chieftain."
Flower Snake didn't understand either and answered the ogre's question directly.
"Oh, so I was looking for the wrong person before! But that's okay, now that you green skin have delivered yourself to my door, I won't be polite!!"
The ogre was also very carefree. After knowing that he had chased the wrong target, he lightly brushed it off, and then regained his spirits, staring at Allen with a crazy look in his eyes. There was no killing intent in his eyes, but it made Allen feel even more creepy.
After saying this, the ogre silently waved the wooden club again. Everywhere, Allen could only see the shadow of the wooden club, as if a net was covering him.
Allen's face was a little heavy. Although he didn't use his full strength in the head-on blow, it was clear that the other party was the same. The final result seemed to be evenly matched, with neither side suffering a loss, but in reality, Allen knew that he was a little weaker in terms of strength alone. If the other party used his advanced abilities next, he probably wouldn't get any advantage.
The worry was only for a moment, and then boundless fighting spirit surged from his heart. The threat of the Shattered Bone Tribe hanging over his head had made Allen have to consider every step he took. He felt that he didn't have much wisdom, and his strength might not be outstanding. If he wanted to protect the current life of his tribesmen, he needed to be extra careful. Many grievances and resentments were hidden in Allen's heart, because he knew that even if he told his tribesmen, with their nature and brains, they would not understand the meaning, but would only add to his troubles.
A bellyful of resentment had no one to tell, and he couldn't find an opponent to vent it on. Now, facing a truly evenly matched opponent, Allen didn't have to worry about this or that anymore. He would vent his long-suppressed anger on this opponent.
