#194 - Believe it or not

Chapter 193 Believe It or Not

Allen lowered his head, carefully examining the ogre heads, shriveled and emitting a putrid odor, within the lime-filled wooden boxes, trying to find any familiar traces.

Each of the ten small wooden boxes contained an ogre's head. Judging by the decay and shriveling, the ogres had been dead for some time. Allen raised his head, glanced at the Bonebreaker before him, and a strong sense of dread arose in his heart.

Allen had already sent someone to call for the recuperating Flower Snake and the others to see if the ogre Stoneskin's head was among them. Although Flower Snake and the others had not yet arrived to give Allen a definite answer, Allen was also clear that the Bonebreaker should not deceive him in this matter. On the contrary, the Bonebreaker's actions made Allen somewhat confused about the ogre attack on his village. Could it really be as the Bonebreaker said, that they were not the ones instigating it behind the scenes?

"Chieftain, did you call for me?"

The earth goblin's powerful recovery allowed Flower Snake to get out of bed and walk, but his movements were still somewhat slow. Seeing the Bonebreaker beside Allen, the disgust in Flower Snake's eyes was undisguised.

"This must be the advanced warrior of your tribe, right? Looking at that physique and those eyes, he's a fine warrior!"

The Bonebreaker acted as if he didn't see Flower Snake's disgust, greeted Flower Snake amiably, and then praised him after carefully examining him.

Flower Snake pretended not to hear and simply redirected his gaze to Allen, asking why he had been summoned.

"Take a look, is the previous ogre leader in here?"

Allen pointed to the ten wooden boxes at his feet, asking Flower Snake to identify them.

Flower Snake laboriously squatted down and carefully examined them before pointing to one ferocious head and saying definitively, "It's this one. I left that scar on his ear."

"Did you kill him?"

After confirming Stoneskin's head, Flower Snake raised his head and stared at the Bonebreaker with puzzled and suspicious eyes.

"Otherwise, do you think anyone else could kill him with Stoneskin's strength? I'm not boasting, but even your chieftain Allen wouldn't dare say he could kill Stoneskin, right?"

The Bonebreaker chuckled, answering in a seemingly relaxed but actually proud tone. He had actually been waiting for Allen to ask this question, as it would help demonstrate his strength and give these greenskins a deep impression. However, Allen was calm and collected. Although he had given himself a deep look, he simply hadn't asked the question. Now, he had to thank Flower Snake for asking the question.

"You are very strong!"

Flower Snake looked at the Bonebreaker with awe. Although the two sides were not on good terms, he still maintained the attitude of a wildlander towards the strong.

"It's alright. It's just that my magic is quite good, otherwise it would have been really difficult to take down this Stoneskin. However, when I was strangling his clansmen, my little ones suffered quite a few casualties. You also know that ogres are all big and strong, and it takes some effort and sacrifice to kill them."

"So, Chieftain Allen, can you believe my words now?"

With the facts before him, Allen could not deny that the Bonebreaker had led his tribe to wipe out the Lava Tribe, but there were still some issues that he could not understand: "Why did you attack these ogres? Can I know the real reason?"

"I know that I was a bit narrow-minded about some things before, which caused you a lot of trouble. But now I've thought it through. We are neighbors who have signed a contract, after all, and we will have to get along for a long time in the future. If we continue to confront each other like this, it won't be a good thing for either of our tribes."

Hearing Allen's question, the Bonebreaker put away his smile, faced Allen with a serious and earnest expression, and his tone was particularly sincere: "So, taking advantage of the ogre attack on you, I wiped out their leader along with the remaining clansmen, partly to show that we really had nothing to do with this matter; and partly to ease the relationship with Chieftain Allen."

"I hope that from now on, there won't be so many disputes between our two tribes. Let's put down our hatred and live our own lives. What do you think?"

The Bonebreaker's sudden visit and such a big change really surprised Allen. At this time, his mind was in a mess, and he couldn't tell whether the other party's words were true, how much truth there was, or whether they were all false?

"Elder Bonebreaker, naturally I also hope that everyone can have a peaceful environment to get along with. Our Green Wilderness is too barren. With the territories we occupy, there is actually no need to be so entangled. It is the real thing that a true leader should do to calm down and let the clansmen live a good life."

Allen did not sort out his thoughts, but it did not prevent him from saying a few polite words first.

"Anyway, we have signed a contract. If the two tribes really fight, neither of us will benefit, right?"

"I knew that Chieftain Allen was a reasonable person. How about this, Chieftain Allen, when you have time, let's have a good discussion about the boundary lines between our territories. What do you think?"

The Bonebreaker followed up quickly, and regardless of whether Allen was sincere or not, he enthusiastically stated his considerations, as if the matter had been decided.

"... Okay."

Allen had to grit his teeth and nod.

"Of course, if possible, I think we should sign a new contract. The previous contract had quite a few loopholes, which is why there have been so many misunderstandings. Let's fill in the gaps in this contract, and it will save a lot of trouble in the future. What do you say, Chieftain Allen?"

The Bonebreaker seemed to be acting out of sincerity and suddenly made a request, causing Allen to frown.

"Is there a need for that?"

Allen didn't even think about it and was about to refuse, but fortunately, he reacted in time and asked back euphemistically, actually revealing that he didn't have this idea.

Originally, he had just hired Salu to assassinate the other party. Now it seemed that Salu should have missed the Bonebreaker. It was estimated that he was hiding somewhere in Bonebreaker Village, collecting information, waiting for the Bonebreaker to return. If he were to sign this contract at this time, wouldn't it mean that all the Bonebreaker's actions before could only be regarded as not having happened, and he would just let him go? Anyone would feel uncomfortable.

"Why isn't there a need? I'm old now and don't have many years left to live, so I handed over the affairs of the tribe to the little rascal Ye a few days ago. He is now in charge of the tribe's affairs, so I think we should simply add the name of this kid Ye to this contract so that we can ensure that Chieftain Allen and this kid Ye will be good neighbors for the rest of their lives."

Seeing Allen euphemistically reject his proposal, the Bonebreaker felt a little黯然in his heart. At this time, he was still unwilling to try again and pulled out the kid Ye.

"I think this is good enough. As long as Elder Bonebreaker can do what he said before, I will be very satisfied. As for our clansmen, Elder, you can rest assured that they will definitely not dare to cause trouble for your Bonebreaker clansmen, otherwise I will break their legs."

Allen shook his head, with an expression of disliking trouble, and rejected the Bonebreaker's proposal again. Then, fearing that the other party would continue to entangle on this issue, he immediately turned around and roared at a group of goblins who were following along and watching the show: "Did you hear that?????!!"

"We heard it!!!"

"Understood!!!"

The uneven response came, and Allen said to the Bonebreaker with a smug look: "Elder, you see, hasn't the matter been resolved now? Why bother so much!!"
