#569 - Weird Ability

Chapter 549: Strange Ability

Boom! Boom!

Swish swish! Whoosh whoosh!

In the distance, at the edge of vision, within the cloud giant's camp, the sky was filled with scenes of various powerful spells raging. The dozen or so spellcasters among the hundred-plus legendary powerhouses had already completed the construction and casting of their long-range magic by the time the demigod giant noticed the magical fluctuations.

The demigod giant soared into the sky. Before several large, pale blue fireballs and countless ice arrows could unleash their destructive power, they were forcibly extinguished in mid-air by the giant. Its massive body had a significant advantage at this moment. It simply plunged into the most turbulent area of magic, and its tyrannical physical body and boundless energy directly annihilated several spells, destroying their spell models.

However, the demigod giant was ultimately alone and isolated. It was simply wishful thinking to try to intercept a dozen or so spells and divine spells with its own strength. Although 4-5 giant elders closely followed behind, standing up to resist the magic and protect their clansmen behind them, there were still many magical flames, frost, vines, and the like that fell into the giant camp.

“Roar!!!!!”

The demigod giant roared to the sky, immediately forming an energy storm that rippled outwards. The few scattered white clouds in the sky were quickly dispersed by this roar.

After the roar, the giant glanced back at the camp. The raging flames burned in the familiar environment, spewing out fiery tongues; crystalline ice pillars suddenly rose, and within the 4-5 meter high ice pillars, there seemed to be a 3-4 meter tall figure; vines constantly grew, devouring the houses and scenery that the giants had painstakingly built. Several giants were struggling to wield their weapons, chopping and blasting away the vines.

Subsequently, the demigod giant's figure suddenly rushed into the dreamy sky, quickly turning into a small dot. Just when the wasteland powerhouses thought that the demigod giant was escaping, the small dot in the sky slowly enlarged again, descending from the sky with tremendous wind pressure.

“Scatter!!!”

Allen roared and quickly ran towards the surroundings, while not forgetting to look up at the huge figure above his head that was getting closer and closer. His vision was already filled with gloom, and he could see nothing but the giant.

The spellcasters had already left this area in advance after casting their spells. They knew very well that when their spells were completed, it was also when they were exposed. However, Allen and the dozen or so other melee professionals who had been selected did not leave immediately. Their task was to attract the attention of this demigod giant and hold it back.

Obviously, the wasteland team's plan was successful. The anger of the cub being attacked caused the demigod giant to directly target the source of the magic, and it did not care whether these legends were the real casters of the magic.

Boom!!!!!

Whoosh whoosh! Huff!!!!!

Dirt, gravel, broken trees, and fierce winds stirred up a dust wave more than ten meters high. Allen's dodging body was also in a mess under the influence of the wind and dirt.

“Ah!!!!!”

Among the dust waves, a legendary powerhouse let out a sharp cry with a hint of pain. Obviously, someone had unfortunately become the target of the demigod giant.

A huge mental pressure descended from the sky, forcing Allen to raise his own mental power to contend with it. The pseudo-demigod-level mental pressure only made Allen, who was just in contact with it, feel a little sluggish and unaccustomed at most. As long as he was given some time to adapt, it would not have too much impact.

The dust had not yet dissipated, and just as Allen was feeling a little surprised, a shadowy figure suddenly emerged from the dust in front of him. Without thinking, Allen instantly slashed out with the Bonecleaver.

Swish!

The shadowy figure was not affected at all, and the Bonecleaver directly passed through its body, startling Allen to immediately tap the void with his left foot and dodge this shadowy figure with a rapid spin. But when Allen turned his head to look back, there was no trace of this so-called shadowy figure.

Another shadowy figure attacked from the corner of his eye. Although he had encountered it before, Allen was still very cautious and launched an attack. The Bonecleaver missed again as expected. This shadowy figure seemed to be just an illusion.

The dust in the field did not dissipate, but gradually became thicker. However, the color gradually changed from earthy yellow to white, as if a cloud of thick fog had suddenly appeared, shrouding this area.

Allen's heart tightened for no reason. He soared straight into the sky, trying to break through this cloud, but he flew for a long time without seeing any signs of the cloud dissipating, which made him feel that something was wrong.

The occasional encounters with shadowy figures made things even stranger. In the end, Allen poured anger into his whole body, raised his guard, and took the initiative to rush towards the shadowy figures, but he still did not receive any damage, and he did not know the specific reason for the appearance of these shadowy figures.

Just as Allen was running around in the clouds without a clue, the spellcasters who had run away ahead of them were solemnly casting various spells, trying to dispel the suddenly appearing fog that enveloped thousands of meters.

Winds, flames, and dispelling divine spells were thrown into this cloud of fog, as if a stone had sunk into the sea without any effect, making a group of legendary spellcasters somewhat at a loss. And the occasional roars and desperate vibrations from the depths of the cloud also made people feel worried.

“Everyone, listen to my instructions, take out your strongest magic and cast it towards the center of the cloud at the same time!!!”

Yog was somewhat uneasy. Allen, this beargolbin, was now a very important part of the Northern Border and the Uruk tribe. In addition, Allen's fair and selfless character had made Yog admire the ability of this temporary captain during this period of close interaction.

The dense white fog shrouded the figures of Allen and his companions, and also completely concealed the figure of the twenty-meter-tall demigod giant. This brought great inconvenience to the wasteland team that was holding back the demigod giant. If they could not find a way to break the fog in front of them in a short time, then the companions in the fog might face the danger of being defeated one by one.

Without the assistance of melee companions, it would be extremely difficult for Yog and the other legendary spellcasters to complete the task of holding back the demigod giant.

The other legendary spellcasters glanced at each other, either solemnly nodded, or simply began to chant spells and wave their staffs, using their actions to support Yog's idea.

The roars in the cloud were still endless, but they did not cause the spellcasters above the cloud to be moved in the slightest. Although they also knew that combined spellcasting was very likely to accidentally injure the companions in the cloud without vision and without being able to lock on to the target, they had to choose the lesser of two evils. Only by dispelling the obviously man-made cloud in front of them as soon as possible could they help the companions in the cloud escape as soon as possible.

“Release!!”

Huff!! Huff huff!!!

Lightning flashed and thunder roared, a gale howled, and several balls of blue flame, 5-6 meters in diameter and burning fiercely, fell almost simultaneously towards the cloud beneath the feet of the wilderness casters. Before the spells could unleash their full power, the dozen or so legendary casters had already fled into the distance, their years of combat experience not abandoned even at this moment.

Boom!! Sizzle!!! Crackle!!

From afar, Yogg and the dozen or so legendary figures watched the cloud's movements, seeing it as if about to swell and explode, yet seemingly restrained by a mysterious energy, confined to a range of several thousand meters.

Just as the legendary figures felt their efforts were about to be in vain, the cloud suddenly expanded once more, and this time, a powerful energy was finally released, causing a certain part of the thick cloud to spread outwards in an instant.

Allen was trying to find a way to break through the mist when suddenly a ball of raging flames erupted from beneath his feet. The intense energy fluctuations made Allen abandon any thought of direct confrontation. With a Misty Step, he moved far away before the fire-based magic could ensnare him.

Fortunately, the spell didn't have a mental lock, allowing Allen to evade it with composure when he noticed it approaching his feet. If it had been a spell controlled remotely by a legendary mage, he would have found it difficult to dodge.

The ball of fire shot straight up into the sky from the ground. Allen was about to rush towards the direction of the fire, trying to see who was casting the spell, when a violent tremor suddenly shook his head, accompanied by a fierce gale and energy storm. Squinting, Allen noticed an extremely strange situation.

The storm unleashed by the powerful fire magic explosion forced the cloud at the very center to spread outwards in a short period. During this brief time, Allen, with his sharp eyes, noticed that the location of the fire magic explosion was a patch of earth composed of colorful soil: yellow, white, black, and other hues.

Having been in the Mirage Plane for a considerable time, Allen was definitely familiar with the ground he had been treading on. At the same time, he was full of confidence in his eyesight. With faint blue flames still flickering underfoot, the surrounding clouds suddenly flashed with a continuous white light, causing Allen's hair to stand on end, and countless electric currents surged, flowing between his scales and body.

Countless ice crystals and stone cones also shifted their positions, attacking Allen from the left and right, sending him into another flurry of chaotic movements.

The cloud stirred repeatedly, agitated by the storms unleashed by countless powerful spells. If Allen initially thought the fire magic was of unknown origin, he roughly deduced that the casters of these spells were probably his wilderness companions outside the cloud after the various spells resonated within the cloud.

Watching the cloud contract and expand time and again, along with the undulating surge of magic, Allen, who was within it, finally noticed an invisible barrier deep within the cloud above his head, desperately suppressing the destruction of magic and maintaining the cloud's space.

"Drink!!"

Allen roared, the Bone Cleaver instantly filled with rage. A layer of orange-red flames enveloped Allen's body, and with the Fury skill enhancing him, he directly cleaved towards the mentally locked barrier with a Heaven-Opening strike.

The flight distance was longer than expected, and just as Allen was about to give up, the Heaven-Opening sword strike transformed into a Fury Slash, taking away the frustration in Allen's heart.

A long beam of fiery light slashed from the Bone Cleaver's blade, scattering the surrounding clouds, and unexpectedly, it brushed past an invisible barrier less than a hundred meters away, revealing the colorful world behind the cloud.

Faced with this change, Allen dared not hesitate. A phantom flashed, and like lightning, he rushed towards the not-yet-healed colorful space.

Whoosh!!!

Allen finally passed through the white mist before the last of the colorful light disappeared. When his eyes scanned the surroundings again, the colorful world of the Mirage Plane was once again reflected in his eyes. Only then did Allen realize that his senses had been deceived in the cloud. Although he was suspended in the air, he was upside down, his head facing the ground and his feet towards the sky.

"Allen!!"

Yogg, seeing Allen covered in flames, shouted in surprise towards Allen, although he was a little puzzled as to why Allen's movements were so strange.

Allen calmly restored his body to normal, constantly replaying the previous feeling in his mind. His eyes quickly scanned Yogg and his group before retracting, and he stepped on the void and ascended directly upwards, overlooking the cloud.

There were still whistling sounds in the cloud, intermittent tremors and roars, occasional fluctuations of various spells, and the roars of the wilderness powerhouses. It seemed he was lucky not to have encountered the giant's attack, but his companions were not so fortunate.

Allen had a clear view of the constantly rotating and agitated cloud, but unfortunately, just like in the mist, although he could feel the pressure of the demigod giant still within, he could not see the giant's踪迹 because of the cloud.

Taking advantage of the remaining time of the Fury skill, Allen took a deep breath, his spirit became focused and solemn again, and his rage slowly contracted and condensed under his mental control. Allen was actually preparing to try his strongest strike again at this time.

It was also a helpless situation. He originally thought that attacks in the liquid rage state would not have many opportunities to appear in actual combat, but after arriving at this Mirage Plane, Allen had now used this combat skill for the second time.

Earlier in the cloud, Allen had already felt that ordinary attacks had almost no effect on this cloud, and it seemed that the magic attacks of Yogg and others earlier had also had little effect. The strength of the cloud giant they were facing now and its strange domain power were very different from the cloud giants they had collected information about before, making this containment seem very passive from the beginning.

Perhaps Allen and Yogg were not incapable of breaking through this cloud, but by the time they found a way, I'm afraid that many of the other legendary companions who had not yet escaped inside would suffer heavy casualties!

Therefore, after some deliberation and calm judgment, Allen decided to try to break through this cloud in the fastest way.

"Allen, this guy's ability is too weird, we..."

Yogg flew over and was about to speak to Allen, but he felt the increasingly heavy aura on Allen's body and the power that was restrained to the extreme. The words that came to his lips were forgotten, and he just watched him with flickering eyes.

"Open!!"

The veins on Allen's neck bulged, and his arms suddenly swelled more than a circle. The Bone Cleaver, following a downward slashing motion, appeared directly on the outermost edge of the cloud under the drive of his body.
