Green Monster Epic
#953 - Final Decision
The Spider Queen suddenly dispatched her confidants to win me over, offering such tempting conditions. It would be a lie to say I wasn't moved.
However, considering the Spider Queen's past character and methods, Allen was filled with suspicion and worry. Was she acting this way because she had even greater intentions towards him?
Such a major decision was not one Allen would make lightly, given his personality. Even if the temptation before him was incredibly alluring, he wouldn't lose his reason because of it.
What Allen needed most right now was someone who understood the world of the gods and could offer reasonable advice to help him deliberate.
However, within Allen's social circle, it was difficult to find a suitable candidate. A friend who knew the secret of Allen's ascension to godhood and was also familiar with the world of the gods—in Allen's mind, only one fellow barely met the requirements.
But this fellow usually liked to hover around Allen, trying to curry favor so Allen would cook magical dishes for him. When he was really needed, he disappeared without a trace.
Opening the castle window, the towering mountains in the moonlight were dyed a silvery white. Allen gently stepped out, his figure flying into the sky, disappearing into the distant mountains in an instant.
Soon, his figure appeared deep within the Cato Mountains, on the highest and steepest snow-capped peak. The snow-covered mountain top wasn't very cold. A blazing red mass of lava stood alone, contending with the icy cold of the summit. White mist billowed, adding a bit of warmth to the place.
And within the mist, a magnificent crystal palace stood proudly, a sight quite out of sync with the current environment.
Creak!
Allen's slender body arrived before the palace gate. With a fierce exertion of his arms, the two heavy crystal doors slowly opened, revealing the empty environment inside.
"As expected, he's not here!"
Allen wasn't surprised. Since passing through his first molting tribulation, the dragon Figglas rarely fell into slumber. Instead, he often transformed into the faces of various races and traveled around.
Of course, he mostly stayed in the Northern Territory, seemingly wanting to observe and understand the changes and processes of Allen's path. But occasionally, this dragon would suddenly disappear for a period of time, and no one knew his whereabouts.
This was also why Allen had asked Leslie of the intelligence agency to find Figglas. Originally, Allen just wanted to find him as a fighter to help him cope with possible battles. Now, with the suggestion of Saintess Ashlee, Allen was even more eager for him to help him deliberate and discuss the dangers behind this matter.
This was the first time Allen had difficulty making a decision on his own and needed to seek external help, simply because the Spider Queen's proposal was too tempting, greatly increasing Allen's chances of success. Even if Allen was accustomed to not asking for help, he couldn't resist such temptation.
Walking out of the empty crystal palace, the Bone Cleaver greatsword quietly appeared in Allen's hand. Condensed anger surged into the sword body with his will, and a heavy atmosphere rippled in this world, even making the lava seem less turbulent.
Boom!
The greatsword suddenly stabbed towards the ever-present clouds above the dead volcano. As the激荡anger exploded and expanded in the high stratosphere, the thick clouds were also ravaged by the violent energy storm, surging in all directions.
For a time, the summit of the snow mountain had never been so clear. The bright white moonlight shone down, illuminating the summit like a dazzling gem. Not only could everything within dozens of miles be seen clearly, but the powerful aura from the Saint was like a bright moon in the night, causing the strong within hundreds of miles to look sideways.
Upon sensing this rising momentum, others muttered in their hearts, wondering what this newly advanced Saint was up to, and why he was making such a big fuss. But no one dared to rush towards the place where Allen's aura was, to see what was going on.
Only a handsome dark elf, currently in the town of Kerri Mar, with a sweet and soft dark elf girl draped over each of his arms, suddenly woke up from his dream, opened his eyes, and looked towards the source of the powerful aura, slightly frowning.
He murmured a cadence, like a light song of moans, and then a magical aura rippled in the extravagant room. Under the magical effect, the two dark elf girls, who were already sleeping peacefully, didn't even notice the dark elf male getting up.
The naked dark elf was full of male aura, his refined muscle lines like a perfect masterpiece in the hands of a sculptor, without any superfluous parts.
In front of the large floor-to-ceiling mirror, the dark elf contentedly stroked his handsome face and powerful body. After a long, long time, he reluctantly pushed open the window next to him and leaned forward, falling towards the window.
Pfft pfft!
Just two breaths after the dark elf's figure disappeared outside the window, an eagle suddenly flapped its wings and flew past the window, quickly disappearing into the vast sky.
Allen sat in front of the open gate of the crystal palace, with a roaring bonfire in front of him. Beside the bonfire was an unfortunate, unknown beast, being processed by Allen into suitable ingredients.
Although he didn't have much hope, Allen still decided to wait for a while near his lair. Anyway, returning to the tribe now would mean meeting with envoys from various tribes who had come to curry favor with him, listening to their flattering words.
Allen had always disliked these insincere meetings. Plus, with his current status and position, he could completely hand them over to Olenzi and Brunland, allowing them to train and learn with the new successors.
The Food God Domain spontaneously unfolded with Allen's skillful cooking movements. An ordinary beast as an ingredient, supplemented with some inexpensive spices, produced a wonderful chemical reaction in Allen's hands. The simple roast whole ribs actually had considerable magical fluctuations, and according to the judging standards of the magic chef system, it was at least at the level of a mid-level magic dish.
"Tsk tsk tsk, I knew my luck was good, I just happened to arrive at mealtime!!"
A familiar voice interrupted Allen's actions just as he picked up the whole piece of roast meat, ready to feast. Then, a gust of wind came, heading straight for the roast meat in Allen's hand.
Pa!
Allen's empty left hand threw a hook punch, colliding with the oncoming palm. As the strong wind flew horizontally, Allen's body remained motionless, while that familiar figure was sent flying out.
"You know, your strength improvement is too fast. I haven't seen you for a while, and your power has skyrocketed so much. I suspect you're a dragon in disguise!!"
The grumbling voice approached the bonfire again. Figglas appeared in front of Allen with the face of a dark elf, constantly rubbing his right hand that had collided with Allen's, grinning. He seemed very unhappy.
"If you want to eat meat, go hunting yourself. I finally managed to roast this food, and you came up to snatch it. There's no such good thing!!"
Allen lightly glanced over, then tentatively opened his mouth to bite into the roasted meat still glistening with oil. A warm current flowed from his mouth down into his stomach, then spread throughout his body. A surge of new energy, not weak even by Allen's current standards, began to exert its effect.
"You've caused such a commotion, and on my turf no less. It must be because you need something from me. Instead of thinking of ways to reward me, you actually want me to go hunting??"
Figlas looked at Allen with a surprised and incredulous expression.
As he spoke, Figlas walked up to Allen and forcefully snatched the roasted meat from his hand again, savoring it with delight.
"You barbaric bandit, what a waste of that good skin and flesh of yours!!"
Allen was just joking with Figlas, the glutton. This roast meat was originally prepared for him.
"Hmph!!"
Figlas opened his mouth wide, and a quarter of the roasted beast, the size of an adult goat, disappeared without a trace. The cheeks of the dragon, transformed into an elf, puffed out, and an expression of enjoyment appeared on his face, even his eyes narrowed.
"Your craftsmanship is truly amazing!"
"I've wandered all over your tribe and tasted the skills of all the famous chefs in your clan. Although they all do a decent job, they are far inferior to your skill!!"
Allen smiled and remained silent, although he thought so in his heart.
Unless he had a new idea in mind or encountered satisfactory and precious ingredients, Allen wouldn't even have the chance to cook, given his current situation. Even if he hadn't cooked for a long time, the moment he held the cooking utensils in his hand, it felt as familiar and confident as holding the Bone Cleaver.
"Burp ~ ~"
A piece of roasted meat weighing nearly a hundred pounds was devoured by Figlas in less than ten minutes. Even the hard bones were not spared by the seemingly slender elf-dragon, and he crunched them like candy beans into his stomach.
After eating his fill, Figlas lay down on a pure gold recliner that he had pulled out of his dimensional storage device and glanced at Allen sideways, asking, "You were in such a hurry to find me, is something the matter?"
"Indeed, there are some things I want to discuss with you!"
Allen, not bothering with formalities with the dragon who knew almost all his secrets, faced Figlas with a serious expression.
"I have now advanced to the Saint realm, you know about this, right?"
"I'm not deaf. I'm afraid everyone in the wilderness knows about your advancement to the Saint realm!"
Figlas spoke casually, but the depths of his amber eyes couldn't hide a hint of envy.
As a dragon, naturally strong and gifted, they usually don't need to work hard or study diligently. As long as they find a place to sleep soundly every once in a while, their strength will naturally increase.
The legendary strength that most intelligent races strive for is just a reward for dragons after safely passing through their juvenile stage, as simple as eating and drinking.
The powerful bodies of dragons, which can withstand the attacks of legendary weapons, allow them to fight one rank above their level without falling behind. In the eyes of other powerful races, only one in a thousand fighting geniuses can achieve this.
Such a powerful physique and talent make others envious, but for the geniuses among the dragons, it is a powerful shackle they can never get rid of.
No matter how hard these dragon geniuses work, the power they ultimately gain is often not much different from those dullards who bury their heads and sleep, their progress is very limited.
The disproportion between long-term effort and reward eventually leads even the most arrogant dragon geniuses to compromise in the face of reality, and eventually sink to eating, drinking, playing, and sleeping like the fools they once looked down upon.
Figlas was like this at the beginning. Later, he couldn't bear the decadent and lifeless environment of the Dragon Realm, so he secretly slipped into this dangerous Ferman world to play, until he met Allen, this guy with amazing cooking skills.
Thanks to Allen's cooking, although Figlas has also rarely trained in recent years, he often pestered Allen to cook innovative dishes for him to enjoy. The permanent strength increase he has gained has already made this dragon, who has just completed his first molting, approach the strength of those four or five thousand-year-old dragons who are about to face their second molting.
Even though he was already so lucky, Figlas was still somewhat dissatisfied, especially after staying with Allen for a long time, watching the other party's strength increase rapidly, and now he has even advanced to the Saint realm, coupled with the path to godhood that he had instigated him to take.
All kinds of changes appeared before his eyes, making the always proud Figlas feel that he was really useless, and even resent his own race because of this.
"Just two magic hours ago, I just finished a meeting with Aishley, the Dark Saintess of the Hozier Federation."
"She, representing the Spider Queen Rose, extended an olive branch to me, promising me many tempting conditions that made my heart flutter."
"Oh? Even you, a usually calm and rational guy, can be moved. It seems that this Spider Queen has invested a lot of capital!"
"Who says no!"
"She is willing to provide detailed secrets of the power of faith, a complete system of church organization, help me when I ignite the divine fire, and give me the leadership of the Hozier Federation."
"Wow!! Such conditions, it's fortunate that it's you, you can still remain calm. If it were me, I'm afraid I would have agreed at that time!"
"What does this Spider Queen want in return?"
"She only wants me to become her subordinate god after ascending to the throne!!"
"That's all there is to it?"
"That's all there is to it!"
"That doesn't seem like that person's style! At least not like the style in the legends I've heard about her since I was a child!!"
"So I'm also very hesitant, that's why I'm discussing it with you, at least your dragon clan has more information about these gods in your secrets, maybe we can find some clues from it!"
"All I know is that in the rumors about this god from ancient times to the present, besides the love-hate relationship with several powerful dark gods, the gods who often appear by her side are her pair of children!"
"It was once rumored in ancient times that there were other gods who took refuge by her side, but in the end, these gods disappeared without a trace and never appeared in front of their believers again, until their faith perished in the river of time."
