Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 15 The Raven
"We'd like a roasted whole chicken, a pot of roasted lamb with green beans, and a red wine beef rib..." Hagrid pointed at the menu with his thick fingers, "Then I'd like a glass of butterbeer for these two young gentlemen.
Two cups of pumpkin juice.”
"Oh, yes, you can also have some of your tuna mashed potatoes and seaweed soup."
"And pumpkin bread and lemon-fried cod..."
In the blink of an eye, Hagrid had ordered five or six dishes, all of which were paid for by Hagrid himself.
"Hmm... let's have another fried pig's trotters." After speaking, Hagrid handed the menu back to the waiter.
With Hagrid's height as a half-giant, both Harry and Tiera thought there was nothing wrong with him ordering so many dishes.
But when the waiter brought the dishes to the table, Tiera and Harry realized that they were wrong, very wrong.
Maybe it’s because food is so easy to come by in the wizarding world. The lamb served on the table was served in a large 30×30 iron pot. There were ten beef ribs in total. Each one wished it was as thick as Harry’s little arm. A roasted whole chicken was even better.
The turkeys were all big, the fried pig's trotters were as big as Hagrid's head, and the tuna mashed potatoes were piled like a hill in the middle of the table.
Even with Hagrid's huge body, Harry and Tiera doubted whether he could finish the meal.
But apparently they were overthinking it.
When Harry and Tiera had almost finished eating, Hagrid directly held the big pig's trotters and roast chicken with both hands and started to eat.
Apparently Hagrid had eaten like this in the Leaky Cauldron more than once or twice. The passing wizards, waiters and bar owners were all used to this.
"Let's go, Harry, Tiera, I'm sorry to keep you waiting." After speaking, Hagrid threw down one galleon and five koshi.
Compared to the Muggle world, food is much easier to obtain in the magical world.
So relatively, the price is also very cheap.
"Let's go, I want to buy you a birthday present, um... Tiera, your birthday has been over for more than a month, but it's not too late to give you another one." After saying this, Hagrid walked away excitedly.
Tiera and Harry rushed into the dark Eela Owl Shop.
"Owls, toads, bats and lizards... what kind of pets do you want? I know the boss well and he can give me the cheapest deal." Hagrid puffed up his chest proudly.
"Ha, Hagrid...you're here!" Through the flapping wings and shining jewel-like eyes, the owner of the Eela Owl Shop saw Hagrid at once.
Then his eyes looked at Harry, who was following Hagrid.
"I heard that old drunkard from Laventi said that today you brought Harry Potter to buy things for him to use for school. I guess it's him!"
The owner of the Eela Owl Shop, a gentle but rough-voiced aunt, crossed Hagrid half-running, half-walked, took Harry's hand and shook it vigorously.
"This young gentleman..."
"My name is Tiera Wu, ma'am." Tiera said.
"Welcome!" The landlady also shook Tiera's hand vigorously, and after letting go, a white mark was left on Tiera's hand.
This lady's hands are really strong... Tiera quietly rubbed her right hand that was so painful.
He saw Harry quietly doing the same thing.
"You must be a Muggle-born little wizard, right?" the landlady said with a smile, "otherwise your parents should stand behind you instead of letting Hagrid, an animal maniac who likes to cross-breed magical creatures, take you two little ones with him.
Children come to choose pets.”
"Hey, Delia, how can I be so..." Hagrid growled anxiously.
"Haha, okay Hagrid, I know you won't make trouble in front of little Harry." After saying that, Delia giggled.
"You two kids can pick any pet you want, and it will be mine. To celebrate our cute little Harry finally entering the magical world."
"Go on, don't be shy." Hagrid pushed Tiera and Harry from behind with his big hand, pushing them into the Easy Owl Shop, which was full of bird droppings, dust and noisy bird calls.
"This owl is called Clark, and it is an authentic primitive owl..."
"This one is called Hedwig. It is a snowy owl with pure blood. His parents are from St. Petersburg, Russia. Unfortunately, they passed away last year..."
Tiera and Harry walked like this while listening to Delia's detailed introduction to the owls in her shop.
After introducing the owl, Madam Delia took Harry and Tiera into the other three small doors of the shop, which were all rooms fixed with the Invisible Extension Charm.
The first room is a rainforest area suitable for toads, pythons, lizards, chameleons, hornbills and whip spiders.
Tiera was happy to see it, but Harry was a little uncomfortable being looked at by those people who were hiding behind the wide leaves with a little humanity and curiosity. This reminded him of Dali being accidentally let go on his birthday.
The snake that came out.
Will that snake also receive such curious or scrutinizing looks in the zoo?
The second room was a cave suitable for bats and mice. The light inside was extremely dark, which prompted Harry to choose a pet directly in the owl room outside——
Just like the original work, the pure white snowy owl named Hedwig.
Tiera followed Mrs. Delia into the second room, while Harry, who was too scared, and Hagrid, who was too tall, chose to stay outside.
"It seems that you are also very interested in the cultivation of magical animals." Mrs. Delia watched Tiera squatting on the ground and doing some simple reaction tests with mice.
"It's okay." In the shadow of the new coronavirus epidemic, Tiera did not touch the bats. After teasing the mice for a while, Tiera followed Mrs. Delia into the last room.
"Just this one." The last room was home to common creatures such as ravens, chickens, geese, ducks, and dogs. Tiera pointed at a raven standing on a wooden frame and said.
"Good vision." Delia praised, a sharp cry coming from her throat.
After hearing this cry, all the ravens glanced at the door where Tiera was, but only the one Tiera had just chosen fluttered its wings and landed on Madam Delia's arm.
Then, Delia said something to the raven with that sharp cry, and the raven flapped its wings and landed on Tiera's head.
"It's yours, give it a name." Mrs. Delia said with a smile.
"Raven!" Tiera said, "Just call him Raven."
"A raven called a raven." Mrs. Delia chuckled. "Yes, you are a very thoughtful young man."
"Ravens don't need cages. They are more attached to humans than owls." Mrs. Delia said, "They are also smarter than owls."
"Thank you, Mrs. Delia." Tiera raised her hand, and Raven cleverly placed it on Tiera's arm.
This raven seems to be still young, with a body length of only twenty centimeters and a little brown down on its body. It looks a bit like an ordinary crow. Therefore, with Tiera's current strength, it is not very difficult to lift Raven.
Hard work.
