Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 182 Magic Zoo
After coming out of Flourishes and Blotts Bookstore, the four of them bought four pieces of ice cream each, and then went to the Magic Zoo.
Although Hermione's birthday is in September, in recognition of Hermione being ranked second in age for two consecutive years——
That is to say, the first grade student ranked second in the exam. Since there was no exam in the second grade, the second grade continued.
Hermione's parents gave her a sum of money and asked Hermione to choose a gift.
After seeing that Harry, Ron and Tiera all had their own pets, Hermione decided to use the money to buy herself a pet.
There isn't much space inside the Magical Zoo, but there are cages hanging on every inch of the wall.
The shop was hot, smelly, and noisy because the little creatures in the cages were making all kinds of noises. The witch behind the counter was already telling a wizard how to care for a two-tailed newt, so Tiera, Harry,
Ron and Hermione waited aside, looking at the cages.
A pair of purple toads with huge eyes sat there, gorging unattractively on a dead blowfly.
A large tortoise with a shell encrusted with gems showed off near the window.
Poisonous orange snails were slowly emerging from the edges of their glass cases, and a fat white rabbit kept transforming into a silk top hat and back again with a loud popping sound.
Then there were cats of all colors, a cage of noisy ravens, a basket of ridiculous mustard-colored soft fur balls humming loudly, and a large cage on the counter with silky black mice growing on them.
The long bald tail plays some kind of jumping game.
Finally, the wizard who raised the two-tailed newt left, and Tiera took a step forward.
"I want to buy a frame of mice." Tiera said, pointing to the big cage on the counter.
When he heard that someone wanted to buy him, the mouse on the counter immediately became active and tried his best to show off his abilities.
"What do you want? Little cutie."
said the witch behind the counter.
"All the female rats, please help me choose a cage and put it in it, thank you." Tiera said, "Oh yes, help me put a black curtain on the outside of the cage."
"..." The witch behind the counter glanced at Tiera strangely, and then replied, "Okay."
The witch waved her wand, and a black curtain and a metal cage floated over from behind the counter——
Then the witch waved her magic wand again, and the door of the mouse cage on the counter opened, and one female mouse after another flew out and flew into the new cage.
Waiting for the last mouse——
Tiera counted, and after a total of thirteen mice flew into the new cage, the black curtain shrouded the cage.
"A total of sixty-five gold galleons," the witch said.
"How about giving us a free treatment by the way?" Tiera turned sideways and let Ron stand behind him and said, "I have bought so many things."
"Okay, okay." The witch looked at the harmless spot in Ron's hand and said helplessly, "Bring it, but the potion is not free."
"That's enough." Tiera smiled and said.
"This is my pet Scabbers." Ron approached the counter and said to the witch. "Ever since I brought it back from Egypt, it has been a little bad."
"Put it on the counter," said the witch, taking a pair of heavy black spectacles from her pocket.
Ron took Scabbers out of his inner pocket and placed it not far from his fellow mice. The mice in the cage stopped playing jumping games and crowded to the edge of the cage to get a better look.
Scabbers, like everything Ron owned, was a second-hand item. He once belonged to Ron's brother Percy, and he looked a little scarred. Compared with the slick mouse in the cage, he looked particularly special.
frown.
"Hmm..." the witch said, picking up Banban, "How old is this mouse?"
"I don't know," Ron said, "It's pretty old anyway. It turned out to be my brother's."
"What capabilities does it have?" the witch asked again, examining Scabbers carefully.
"Well..." Ron said. The actual situation is that Scabbers has never shown the slightest ability to make people interested.
"It's very edible," Tiera added.
The witch was noncommittal, her eyes turned from Ban Ban's torn ears to its front paws, where a toe was missing, and she made a tsk-tsk sound from her mouth.
"It must have suffered a lot, that mouse," said the witch.
"Haha, that's not what it is." Tiera sneered and said.
"This is what it looked like when Percy gave it to me," Ron defended himself.
"You can't expect an ordinary house mouse or garden mouse like this to live for more than three years." The witch said, "Well, if you want to find a more durable animal, you can also be like your little friend.
Choose one...or several..."
She pointed at the shiny black mice, and they immediately started jumping around again.
Ron muttered: "Exhibition guy."
"Well, if you don't want to replace it, you can try this potion," the witch said, reaching under the counter and pulling out a small red bottle.
"Okay," said Ron, "how much--"
"Ouch!"
A huge ginger-yellow thing jumped down from the top cage, jumped on Ron's head, and then moved forward, purring and roaring at Scabbers.
"No! Crookshanks, no!" cried the witch, but Scabbers slipped from her hand like a bar of soap, fell on all fours to the floor, and fled toward the door.
"Scabbers!" Ron yelled, following it as it ran out of the store.
Harry followed, while Tiera stayed inside the shop.
"I want that bottle of potion. How much is it in total?" Tiera asked.
It took them about ten minutes to find Scabbers, hiding under a wastebasket outside the Quidditch boutique.
Ron put the trembling little mouse back into his pocket, then straightened up and touched his head.
"what is that?"
"Either a very big cat or a very small tiger," said Harry.
"Where are Hermione and Tiera?"
"Probably buying owls." Harry said, "Let's go back."
They turned back from the crowded street and returned to the Magic Zoo.
When they arrived, Hermione happened to come out, and Tiera was holding the red potion bottle in her hand.
But it wasn't the owl that Hermione was holding in her arms. It was the huge ginger cat that was held tightly in her arms.
"Did you buy this monster?" Ron asked, grinning from ear to ear in surprise.
"His fur is pretty, isn't it?" Hermione said with a smile.
It's true that the cat's ginger fur is thick and fluffy, but its legs are obviously a little bent, and its face looks rough and oddly squashed, as if it had run headlong into a wall.
As if. Scabbers was gone, and the cat was snoring contentedly in Hermione's arms.
"Hermione, that damn thing almost took my scalp off!" Ron yelled.
"It wasn't intentional, wasn't it, Crookshanks?" Hermione said with a smile.
"What about Scabbers?" said Ron, pointing to the bulge on his breast pocket. "He needs to rest and relax! How can he rest and relax with this thing next to him?"
