Chapter 47: The Latent Crisis
The streets of Italy have a striking sense of color.
On both sides of the not-so-wide streets, the rows of buildings are mostly colorful. Even if the colors are used boldly, there is not much sense of violation. In addition to the overflowing exotic style, even Maca can be found among them.
Feel the precipitation that comes from the Renaissance.
But right now, Maca has no intention of watching these wonderful street scenes. His destination is Pachino, located at the southernmost tip of Italy.
It was a small seaside town on the island of Sicily, full of low earth-stone walls and tiled houses. A variety of potted plants and green vines covering the exterior walls of the houses made the place look full of life.
Willy couldn't wait to slide off Maka's Nimbus 2000 and hurried to the door of a house. She just stared at the row of flower pots in front of the house. No matter what Maka called her, she would
like a statue.
No matter what he said, Willy's answer was only one sentence - "Wait a little longer."
Seeing that the Immortal Yin potion had expired, pedestrians on the roadside glanced here from time to time. In desperation, Maka had no choice but to smile awkwardly and nod at the pedestrians.
Maybe people just think these two children look interesting, but Maka has no hobby of being watched.
"Let's go! If we don't go, we will become monkeys in the zoo."
He grabbed Willy's slender wrist and forced her to walk along the street.
He thought that Willy would at least struggle a bit, but Willy was pulled by him honestly and arrived at the door of a hotel smoothly.
When it comes to Italians' English, it's obviously not very popular. What's more, two teenagers came to check into the hotel, and it looked like they were joking.
In desperation, Maka still gave the hotel owner a "Confusion Charm" as a gift, and then completed the check-in procedures. Fortunately, it has long since left the monitoring range of the British Ministry of Magic, and the use of the spell is temporarily
No worries anymore.
"Let's practice the Apparition Spell again..." Maka muttered to herself as she looked at the gradually darkening sky outside.
Willy has settled in and lives next door to him.
Now, he has found a trick to deal with Willie. As long as he gives her a pot of plants, no matter what species it is, she can stare at it for an hour or two. What's more, Maka doesn't just show her one or two kinds.
Plants, but his own new herbology notes.
Compared with the one given as a Christmas gift, the content in this new diary seemed more substantial. It was obvious that Willy was very interested, and she sat by the window and read it carefully.
But in fact, Willie did not stare at his notes as much as Maka imagined.
She was currently lying on the small coffee table next to the bed, comparing Maka's notes and writing down something in her notebook word by word.
But after a while, she closed the notebook again.
"Flowers in the Muggle world are prettier than those in the wizarding world."
Willy turned her head and stared blankly at the sky outside the window. It was already dusk, and the golden sunset blended into the background formed by various buildings, which looked very wonderful.
"He said he was going to sea tomorrow... Are there any plants in the sea?" She stared blankly at the vaguely visible sea level in the distance, seemingly looking forward to it, but her expression was still so calm.
Suddenly, Willie turned around and looked at the closed door. She stared at it motionlessly, as if she wanted to see through it.
"He's a very nice person," she said.
The sun gradually sets, and the afterglow of the setting sun becomes more and more brilliant. The window is still bright, but there is also a hint of coolness.
Willie just sat on the chair, sitting quietly, doing nothing. She seemed to be very accustomed to this kind of time alone, she just looked at everything around her calmly, as if she was just one of the objects.
Time passed like this little by little, just like Willy's usual life, quiet and leisurely...
It was just dark outside, but night came very early for Pachino people. Not long after the sun had just dipped below the mountain tops, there were not many people wandering outside on the streets.
Maka found a flat rocky land on the beach that no one had passed before, and with a depressed look on her face, she practiced apparation that had no improvement effect. Everything seemed to be going on in an orderly manner.
But what Maka didn't expect was that Quirrell—or rather Voldemort—was lingering in the Albanian forest at this moment!
Eleven years ago, when Voldemort tried to kill Harry's family, Harry's mother Lily sacrificed herself for her son. Voldemort also died due to the backlash of the Death Curse he released.
After that, his incomplete soul hid deep in the Albanian forest for ten years.
A year ago, he finally met Quirrell, who was here on vacation, and successfully tamed him in one fell swoop, and was taken to Hogwarts Castle easily.
But who knew that Voldemort, who had originally set his sights on the Philosopher's Stone, failed again. While he was angry, he returned to this remote but familiar place.
At this time, Quirrell was leaning softly on the trunk of a big tree. He was covering his left shoulder with his right hand, and his left hand was hanging weakly by his side.
Obviously, Dumbledore's blow caused him to be seriously injured.
Voldemort had already let go of his control over Quirrell. He was still attached to the back of Quirrell's head, but the fierce fight that day consumed a lot of his strength, which made him even more weak.
On the big tree behind Quirrell, you can vaguely see a tree hole that has been hollowed out by woodworm. There are a few vines hanging down at the entrance of the hole. You really can't notice it unless you look carefully.
This is the tree hole where the Ravenclaw Golden Diadem was hidden when Voldemort lured him out of Helena. Because of its concealment, Voldemort did not hesitate to choose this place as his hiding place.
"Master... I feel... very bad." Quirrell barely opened his eyelids and said weakly.
Voldemort didn't respond, maybe he was focusing on regaining his strength, or maybe he didn't want to waste any time on it.
Seeing that his master had no response, Quirrell looked at the trees in front of him in confusion. After a while, he closed his eyes again.
Another long time passed, and suddenly, Quirrell's eyes suddenly opened, with a trace of evil in his red eyes.
For some reason, Voldemort took control of Quirrell's body again!
He slowly stood up and walked deeper into the forest step by step without looking back.
The further you walked in, the taller and greener the surrounding trees became. The intertwined tree crowns blocked the moonlight, making the forest appear darker and darker.
But Voldemort seemed to have no need for light at all. Although his steps were slow, he avoided many trees with great accuracy, not even touching the winding and twisted tree roots under his feet.
Go, keep walking, keep walking...
The angle of the hillside gradually became more and more downward. On many steep slopes, Voldemort had to lie on the ground and slide down. The long walk made his movements more and more difficult, but he still did not stop.
This is all because he has a place he must go to - while he can still control Quirrell's movements.
Finally, when he pushed aside the bushes in front of him again, a dilapidated ancient temple appeared in front of him.
Voldemort controlled Quirrell and walked to the entrance of the ancient temple. Looking at the almost half-collapsed stone floor inside, a rare trace of hesitation appeared on his face.
But not long after, he took steps again and walked all the way inside.
Only when you walk into this small ancient temple can you see that under the damaged and collapsed slate floor tiles, a dark and gloomy passage corridor is exposed!
It was extremely dark inside, and as soon as he took two steps, his figure was completely swallowed up by the shadows, and there was no trace of him anymore.
…
Early the next morning, along the coast of Pachino.
"Sit tight, we're leaving!"
Willy sat behind Maka, holding his clothes tightly with both hands. Although it couldn't be seen on her face, she seemed to be a little afraid of heights.
Naturally, Maka didn't see Willy's appearance, otherwise she would have noticed it when she flew over from Rome.
He kicked off his feet, and Nimbus 2000 took him and Willy with him, but still at a very fast speed, and they had already left the shore in the blink of an eye.
They were flying towards the center of the Mediterranean Sea. There, there was a small island obscured by magic. If Maca hadn't held a chart, it would have been impossible to find it.
But even so, after a while, when Maka flew over a sea area, he suddenly felt a blur around him. When he just reacted, he saw a small island appearing in front of him, and the top of a tall tower in the center was emitting radiation.
With soft white light.
"A barrier that absorbs light? An enlarged version of the Illusion Curse?" Maka glanced back and flew straight to the tall tower.
When he approached the tower, he immediately discovered that there was a lot of permanent magic on it. Most of them were harmless and were only used to maintain the tower and drive away Muggles; but some of them were passive defensive magic.
Maka saw a red halo appear on Ta's body and immediately stepped away.
"Looks like I still have to walk over honestly."
He took Willy and fell into the woods below. Although he hit the branch of a tree, he still landed firmly on the ground.
"Pooh!"
Maka spat out the leaves hanging from her lips and looked back at Willy.
"do not move!"
As he spoke, he gently patted the leaves off of Willy's head, and then continued, "Okay, let's go inside and take a look."
But before he could take a few more steps, he immediately noticed something was wrong.
"...What's there?" Maka immediately pulled out her wand and carefully observed the surrounding situation.
Not long after, there was a commotion on the branches in front of Maka's left, as if something big was about to rush in front of him.
"There are many obstacles!"
Maka jerked her wand.
Suddenly, even the trembling leaves nearby slowed down. The next moment, a hideous and terrifying mouth suddenly emerged from the branches, with sharp fangs clearly visible.
