Harry Potter: Charlie and the Candy Factory
Chapter Thirteen Morning Meeting
"Gudong..."
Russell looked up at the blazing wall of fire that was as tall as a person and couldn't help but swallow.
After hesitating for a moment, out of trust in Charlie, he closed his eyes and mustered up the courage to step in.
Sure enough, when his feet stepped into the wall of fire, the scorching heat and burning sensation that Russell had imagined did not come to him. Instead, an inexplicable warmth swept through his whole body.
Russell took a few steps past the burning area of the wall of fire, then opened his eyes, checked his whole body with some surprise, then turned his head and looked at the seemingly ferocious flames.
I couldn't help but praise him.
"As expected of the great Master Charlie!! He actually created such a real flame, Russell couldn't even see any clues!"
In the center of the fire shield, Charlie leaned against his long table, watching the scroll recording magic in his hand slowly burn to ashes, and couldn't help but yawn.
He stood up from the long table, waved his ringed hand, and the original wand disappeared without a trace.
He strolled up to Russell, picked up the hot coffee on the plate in his hand, and took a sip.
"Stupid Russell..."
A sip of bitter coffee in the morning was enough to dispel Charlie's fatigue from the whole night, and he couldn't help but feel refreshed.
He glanced at Russell, who was still standing next to the fire ring with his eyes wide open and kept putting his hand in to test, and said
"This is no illusion."
As he spoke, Charlie raised his arm and waved violently at the still burning fire shield.
Suddenly, the flames were sucked by something, and they condensed into a line of fire on time, flying back to Charlie's side until they slowly dissipated in the void.
It was only then that Russell noticed that the area where the flames had just burned had turned into pitch black coke. Even the nearby areas that were not directly touched were also blackened to the naked eye.
"This is the fire shield, one of the magic spells of the previous generation of Dark Lord Grindelwald."
Looking at Russell whose jaw dropped, Charlie's inexplicable sense of accomplishment was perfectly satisfied.
After all, it took me a whole night to learn something. If Russell didn't act strange, then something was wrong!
He couldn't help but curl up the corners of his mouth, took another sip of the coffee in his hand, and then sat back on his seat.
"This, this, this... is simply unheard of!" Russell naturally would not hold back his admiration for his master, and was followed by all kinds of compliments, as if they were free of money.
Things like "No. 1 in history...", "No one can compare...", "Excellent skills..." There is not even a duplicate sample within ten minutes.
Although Charlie knew that most of it was exaggeration, it still did not prevent him from enjoying Russell's admiration.
After listening for a long time, Charlie finally waved his hand to stop Russell, who still had more to say.
"Let's talk about something serious."
Only then did Russell realize. He glanced at the toast he was still holding in his hand, nodded quickly, sent it to Charlie's long table, and began the usual report.
"Recently, the response from distributors of Bingmei Sweet Candy in various regions has been very good... Our people are negotiating with Muggles in that part of America. If everything goes well, it won't take long to open up sales in the United States."
"Not bad." Charlie nodded, not showing too much surprise.
He took a bite of the slightly burnt toast and thought for a moment before adding, "In the near future, we will arrange a few more production lines to do this and try to increase the output... Oh, wait a minute."
As he was talking, Charlie suddenly thought of something, his eyes lit up, and he snapped his fingers.
"Try adding wine to it, those Yankees like it."
After listening to Charlie's opinion, Russell took out a small notebook from somewhere seriously and wrote it down in it.
"And...that weird exploding candy I mentioned to you before."
Russell said while immersed in writing and drawing.
"Well, I remember, what's wrong?"
Charlie thought for a moment and nodded quickly to express his understanding.
"I have to say, its response is really... terrible."
Russell raised his head again and shrugged with regret.
"Whether it's in the wizarding world or European Muggles, they don't like it. Many people have reported to us that the stuff always smells like cow dung when chewed."
Charlie, who was chewing toast, couldn't help but paused when he heard this. Then he frowned and took a sip of coffee.
"So how do they know what cow poop tastes like? ...What the heck, guys, why don't they talk about weird exploding candies and apples and lemons."
Charlie waved his hand and said he didn't need to care at all.
After hearing this, Russell hesitated for a moment, then stretched out his hand and scratched his head.
"Actually... I mean, maybe we can stop the production line of weird exploding candies and switch to liqueur-style iced plum candies."
Charlie listened to Russell's words and rubbed his chin, seeming to be thinking about something.
After a long while, he gave the answer
"It's not impossible, but there must be at least two production lines for weird explosive candies. We don't have to sell to those Muggles who don't know the goods, but the wizarding world must continue to maintain the supply of dealers."
"Okay..." Russell hesitated for a moment, then nodded and honestly wrote down Charlie's words in his notebook.
"Um, Master Charlie," Russell remembered, couldn't help but raise his head, looked at Charlie and asked carefully.
"Can you tell Russell why?"
Charlie did not answer the question directly, but squinted his eyes, turned to look out the window, then took a sip of coffee, and then said quietly
"President Dumbledore mentioned in his letter to me a few years ago that he said that the weird exploding candy tastes delicious."
After hearing this, Russell suddenly realized it and quickly wrote down this sentence with emphasis.
……………
Two slices of bread and a cup of coffee, accompanied by a brief meeting between the two, was quickly wiped out by Charlie.
When he put the last corner of bread into his mouth and swallowed, the breakfast was completely over.
"The bread is a little burnt."
As usual, Charlie wiped his mouth after eating and gave a fair evaluation.
"I will definitely ask them to pay more attention next time."
Russell stepped forward, put the coffee cup on the plate and picked it up, while answering.
"No, I like it a little burnt."
Charlie stood up again, rubbed Vivien who had curled up into a ball on the table and was sleeping soundly, and replied.
