Harry Potter Raven's Claw

Chapter 5 The Wand

Mike walked out of the Guling Pavilion. In fact, he was very puzzled by the fact that the magic world actually handed over economic power to the fairies, but after learning about the Guling Pavilion and the fairies, Mike felt that he seemed to understand.

Most wizards are not good at mathematical operations and logical reasoning, and can even be said to be stupid. This makes them unable to do the job in Gulingo, and the fairies have unique talents in this regard.

1 gold gallon equals 17 silver shiko, 1 silver shiko equals 29 copper nat.

Such a strange and complex redemption ratio cannot guarantee that even those wizards with powerful magic can be counted correctly every time they make a transaction, so it is very profitable.

After shook his head and dispelling these strange ideas, Mike had one of the most important places to go.

...

Following the memories of his coming, Mike came to a broken and small store.

The store's sign has fallen off, and the font originally painted with gold has become dull and says:

Ollivand: A well-made wand has been made since 382 BC.

Mike pushed the door open and entered. A thin old man in the small house was packing up a mess of wand boxes on the counter. He probably had just finished a business.

"Welcome, young sir." Ollivander saw Mike. "With strange face, I guess you must be a freshman at Hogwarts, right? I remember every wand I sold, and it was obvious that this was your first time to come to me. What's your name, little guy."

"Mike, McTownley, sir."

"So Mr. Tangli, who do you usually like to use it?"

With Ollivander's wand swung, a tape ruler climbed up Mike like a snake.

"Right hand."

"Okay, then try this one. 11 inches, cherry wood plus unicorn hair, a powerful combination."

After measuring Mike's physical data, the tape ruler quickly flew back to Ollivander's hand.

Mike took the wand, and before he could wave the tip of the wand could radiate a soft white light.

"That's great! Well, it's not right... it's suitable but not the most suitable."

Ollivand snatched the wand, searched behind him for a while, then took out another black wand.

"13 inches, black stinging pear wood plus dragon's heartstrings. A powerful combination, a warrior's wand."

Mike reached out and prepared to take the wand, but Mike's hand was approaching the wand before he could catch it. The wand broke free from Ollivand's hand and flew into Mike's hand.

The moment I held the wand in my hand, an orange-red ball of light was emitted from the tip of the wand. The far-range ball exploded and turned into orange-red dust and floated down, illuminating the narrow shop red.

"That's amazing! The first time I saw the magic wand so eager to choose the master." Ollivand almost jumped up excitedly when he saw this. "You will definitely make a great contribution in the future!"

Mike stroked the lines on the wand, and although he suspected that Ollivand would say this to everyone who came to his store to buy wands. Mike was still very happy. No one didn't like to hear compliments, even if you know he might be lying. Getting the wand means Mike officially became a member of the magic world.

After handing the Hogwarts wand exchange voucher to Ollivand, Mike walked out of the shop. Ollivand's wand shop cooperated with Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic. Every wand sold to the little wizard can be subsidized to allow the little wizards to obtain wands at a low price.

Of course, this is only for the first purchase. If you lose your wand later, then you are embarrassed, you have to buy it at the original price. The original price of each wand is around 50 gold gallons, and the price of customizing special materials is even higher.

Mike, who bought the magic wand, was in a happy mood and walked into Lihen Bookstore.

Although Mike had guessed that the price of magic books would be very expensive, he didn't expect it to be so expensive.

A book called "Advanced Potion Production" costs 9 Gallons. You should know that the Muggle Wizard clerk at Lihen Bookstore is only 42 Gallons per month.

And this is because this is originally a Hogwarts textbook and has subsidies.

Other books of the same level as "Advanced Potion Making" are almost twice as expensive as his. No wonder Ron can only use old books from his brothers, otherwise he would not be able to afford them at all.

With the recommendation of the clerk, Mike bought several books suitable for first-grade wizards. The high price made Mike feel a little painful, but he knew that this was a necessary investment. There is no investment in the world that is more cost-effective than investing in himself.

Of course, there are second-hand bookstores in the magic world. Almost all the textbooks of the Weasley family were purchased at a second-hand bookstore in the corner of Diagon Alley. The books here are only one-third of the price of new books, but most of these books have the problem of missing pages.

Those books with good student notes and well preserved are even more expensive than new books.

This is also one of the reasons why Ron has poor grades. Just imagine, these already broken second-hand books first fell into the hands of his brothers. By the time Ron got these books, he didn't know which one he was.

It was really difficult for Ron to learn magic well with such a book that lacked a lot of content. Ron was really pitiful when he thought about it.

When Mike returned to the broken cauldron bar with a large box, it was already dark.

He did not intend to return to the garbage house, but rented a room upstairs from Tom.

Tom gave him a discounted price for Mike, and only charged him 18 per month for Kim Garon, including lunch and dinner.

Mike just got the book and couldn't wait to study the magic in the book, and he vaguely remembered that the little wizard would be warned if he used magic in the Muggle world.

Although I can't remember whether this is true, it's safer to stay in the broken pot bar to learn magic.

Mike had just put his luggage in his room, and Harry and Hagrid also came to the Burnt Cauldron Bar.

Harry put his hands behind his back, as if hiding something.

"Mike, I heard about you from Hagrid. I happened to find that my parents left me a lot of Jin Jialong." Harry's face was flushed and his hands kept rubbing behind him. "I think we are friends. Although we only met today,... if you need money, this is for you."

After saying with his head down, Harry stuffed the cloth bag hidden behind him into Mike's hand, filled with Jin Jialong.

Poor Harry, want to make friends with money.

Mike felt the weight of the pocket in his hand, and didn't know what to say for a moment. He never expected Harry to give him money.

Harry was anxious when he saw that Mike had not spoken for a long time.

"I...I don't mean anything else, it's just like helping you. I know how you feel, and I'm also an orphan."

Poor Harry, in order not to make his friend feel uncomfortable, he would rather reveal his scars to him.

When Mike thought about this, he was indeed a little moved at this moment. Harry was indeed kind and cute at this time, and Mike would not have done this.

"I know Harry, I know. I admit I need this money." Mike smiled softly. "But I accept this money for no reason, I will give you an IOU. Although I may not be able to pay it back in a long time, I swear I will pay it back."

"You don't need to...we are friends, among friends..."

"No, this is the principle. I don't like letting your kindness turn into a gift to me." Mike interrupted Harry.

Harry smiled when he heard Mike's words.

No matter what, Mike just needs to accept the money. As for the IOU? He turned around and tore him up.

Harry thought so.

At night, watching Harry gradually disappear on the street, Mike couldn't help but stumble with Jin Jialong's pocket in his hand. He did not tell Harry that he was actually not short of money to buy a cauldron or something, but accepted Harry's kindness.

Because one of the ways to quickly enhance the relationship between people is to seek help from the other party. In other words, it is to find a way to owe favors to others.

Most of the friendships of adults are like this: You owe me a favor, and I will give you a favor.

In this way, the relationship between the two people only becomes deeper.

Mike's previous life experience told him that this method is very useful.

Feeling the cool air outside the house, Mike returned to his room, and he couldn't wait to start trying to learn magic.
