Harry Potter's Bastard
Chapter 440
Umbridge's confinement was nothing but boring, and it wasn't as easy as Harry had imagined.
When Harry wrote the first sentence on the parchment, he understood why Umbridge said he didn't need ink, and looking at the lines that appeared on the back of his hand and the bright red handwriting on the parchment, Harry understood what was happening, even if he was sluggish.
Harry turned to look at Umbridge. She was staring at him, her toad-like mouth grinning.
"What's wrong?" Umbridge's voice was kind, but Harry knew she was pretending.
"Nothing. Harry whispered.
He looked down at the parchment, dropped the tip of his pen on it again, and wrote that I can't lie. He felt a burning pain in the back of his hand again, the words carved into his skin again, and after a few seconds, the wound healed again.
Outside the window of Umbridge's office, night was falling. Harry didn't ask him when he could stop. He hadn't even looked at what time it was. He knew that Umbridge was watching him for signs of weakness, and he didn't want to show the slightest weakness, even if he was going to sit here all night, slicing the back of his hand deep again and again with this quill.
"Come here. After what seemed like hours, Umbridge spoke.
Harry stood up. The back of his hand ached hotly. He looked down and saw that although the wound had healed, the skin there was red and tender flesh exposed.
"Hands. Umbridge said.
Harry reached out. She held it in her own hand. When she touched Harry's hand with her fat, stubby fingers, which were wearing a large pile of ugly old-fashioned rings, Harry desperately resisted the urge to pull it back immediately.
"Tsk, it seems that I haven't left a deep imprint on you yet. She smiled and said, "It's okay, we're going to try again tomorrow night, right? "
Harry left her office without saying a word. The school was almost empty, and Harry didn't know what time it was, but it looked like it was getting late. He walked slowly down the hallway, and when he turned a corner, confident that Umbridge wouldn't hear, he ran away.
He didn't have time to practice the vanishing spell, he didn't record a single dream in his dream diary, he hadn't finished the sketch of the tree guard, and he hadn't written a single essay. The thought of handing in his homework early tomorrow morning was a big headache, and because of what he had just experienced, Harry really didn't want to touch the pen anymore.
But he had to touch it, because he still had a lot of homework to do, and if he didn't, he might be locked up by another professor - Snape, for example.
When Harry returned to the Gryffindor Tower, there weren't many students left in the common room, but Ron was still there, though he looked a little strange, looking up at the ceiling and muttering something in his mouth
"Oh, you're back, Harry. I'm doing Trelawney's homework on recording dreams, and I'm two dreams away, but I can't make it up. Ron noticed the movement around him and realized that it was his best buddy who had returned from confinement, "How's it going? Locked up at Umbridge? What did she tell you to do?"
Harry hesitated for a moment, then said flatly, "Write sentences." "
"Oh, that's not too bad, is it?" said Ron.
"yes. Harry said as he touched the back of his hand underneath.
"Did she grant you Friday off?"
"No—" Harry shook his head, deciding that he must have been stupid to think that intercession would be useful for Umbridge.
Although Harry also thought that it would be a good idea to get Dumbledore to come forward as Solim said, he didn't want to trouble Dumbledore because of such a trivial matter, and Harry also knew that Dumbledore was too busy to disturb him for such a trivial matter as confinement, and Harry couldn't do it. Although he also wanted to talk to Dumbledore, such as asking him where Hagrid was.
There was no time to waste, and Harry knew that if he wanted to sleep tonight, it would be best to start his homework now.
"Show me your recorded dreams, Ron, I can't make them up now. Harry decided to finish his homework for tomorrow.
"You look terrible mentally. Ron pushed the parchment over the table, "Let's finish Trelawney's dreams and go to rest, I don't expect Professor McGonagall's vanishing spell to be done tonight, I hope Professor McGonagall's class won't be too hard tomorrow." "
It was a tough day for Harry, who had that unexplained dream last night that didn't give him a good night's rest.
He was one of the worst performers in Transfiguration class, as he simply didn't have the time and energy to practice the Vanishing Charm. At lunchtime, he had to give up his rest and finish the sketch of the tree guard. And that's not even counting the amount of homework they had been given by McGonagall, Graplan, and Professor Sinista that he couldn't have done that night, as he had to go to Umbridge for a second confinement.
Harry was now hiding from Hermione because Hermione had noticed a problem with the back of Harry's hand during the lunch meal - although Harry didn't want anyone to know about it, he always had to use his hand when eating, didn't he?
The fresh, freshly healed skin was still quite conspicuous, and of course Hermione would have noticed, especially when she asked Harry about his knee-jerk movements when she was confined last night, which made Hermione notice that Harry was not right. In the end, Harry could only tell what had happened during the lockdown at the urging of Hermione and Ron.
There was no doubt that Hermione and Ron blew up on the spot.
"The old witch!" Ron clucked as he bit the fork in his mouth.
"Go to Professor McGonagall, or Professor Dumbledore!" Hermione was more direct, immediately asking Harry to make a small report. In Hermione's opinion, copying sentences was fine, not even corporal punishment, after all, wiping walls and mopping the floor in the hallway, or wiping trophies in the showroom, was also corporal punishment. But Umbridge's punishment of Harry went beyond corporal punishment, it was mental and physical torture for students - this is not what a Hogwarts professor should do.
But Harry didn't listen to Hermione, and he wasn't going to find another professor to help him. He thinks it's a war between him and Umbridge, and he's definitely not going to bow his head first. Harry didn't want to look like a child who couldn't stand it.
Umbridge's torture had piqued Harry's spirit, and he wanted to see what else Umbridge could do to torment him.
