Harry Potter’s Morning Light

Chapter 238: Potential Potion

  Chapter 238 Potential Potion

"You got Severus' office, Horace, what new topic are you working on now?"

Slughorn continued to use the office used by the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts on the third floor of the castle as he wished. The light here is bright, not as dark and damp as the cellar.

"You really don't mean anything, Pomona." Slughorn handed a glass of mead over. "Aren't we supposed to talk about the old days before we start talking about work?"

"I'm very busy, and there is a spider in the forest waiting to solve it." She paused and asked, "You and Neville are not happy to cooperate?"

"He's very good, he is very fond of magical plants, but unfortunately he really doesn't know much about potions, so there are a lot of conversations between us." Slughorn took a sip of wine. "Neville is very repulsive to potions, I I heard that he had a bad relationship with Severus before."

"Neville's Bogut is Severus." She smiled.

"You know, I'm different from him." Horace Slughorn said. "I prefer to use rewards rather than punishments to motivate students. He is too harsh, Pomona, treating Neville Longbottom like this. Students need more patience, which is what he lacks."

Pomona glanced at his hourglass, and now the sand inside was passing quickly.

"At least a drink for the past. We used to work together very happily."

Pomona drank the glass of mead as she did. She was not afraid of him poisoning it. Why did he do it?

"Since you are talking about business, let's talk about it. Do you know where there is scenting magic grass in the Forbidden Forest?"

"Sniffing magic grass?" Pomona exclaimed in surprise, "I thought it was extinct."

"No, it is extremely cherished, but it is not extinct. One day when I was walking, I ran into a sniffer near the forbidden forest. It was injured. I saved it. I found the sniffer in its pocket. The leaves of the grass."

Sniffing phantom grass was once traded as a copper coin before the Middle Ages. There are not many people who study scenting phantom grass, but it is one of the raw materials for making potent potions.

"I have been to your greenhouse. There is no such herb in it, but I found that there is a large field of birch in the forbidden forest. It is obviously planted by people. What else did you steal in the forbidden forest?"

"That's a big forest, Horace." Pomona smiled and said, "Maybe there is some kind of intelligent creature that loves to eat Brimaceae, so he planted it himself. What evidence do you have that I planted it?"

"I'm old, Pomona, I'm tired and I don't have the strength to play with you again." Slughorn said tiredly. "That boy, Neville Longbottom, why do you want him to pick you up?" Obviously there are people better than him who can serve as professors of herbal medicine."

"Because he is the student I brought out, I believe him." Pomona put a smirk away, shouting like a mother badger guarding her cubs, "I hate people like Lockhart, and Tuz is exactly like him. Along the way, if he can concentrate on herbal medicine, he won’t be broadcasting. He is not attentive enough. I can’t give him the students and my greenhouse."

   "It's that simple?"

   "Yes!"

"Well, I thought even you were related to Dumbledore’s Order of the Phoenix. The story of Harry Potter sneaking into the Ministry of Magic with the compound soup is quite famous. I know Severus must have joined his plan. I don’t want to even involve you."

"We are not very familiar. He usually doesn't go to the faculty lounge very much. We basically have nothing to do with him except for the medicinal materials he needs to use. After the war, I went out for a few years. I am different from you. I don't like it. Showcasing."

"Relax, relax girl." Slughorn said repeatedly, "I understand that the cautious wizards these days try not to show up. You don't have to join the Order of the Phoenix to teach at Hogwarts. Me, Felius, Now I have to add you, and most of the faculty and staff are not members of the Order of the Phoenix, but the truth is that I can’t stand up to others’ scribbling. I’m not a pureblood and I don’t support learning Muggles. Relax, I heard that you attended the Malfoy's party on Halloween, can you tell me what you think?"

"I just don't want them to kill the pure-blooded nobles. The power of blood is magical. The mysterious people are the descendants of Slytherin. His power is obvious to all. They can’t be like Muggles because they don’t have that magical power. It is believed that blood inheritance has no effect."

"Someone classifies you as a Death Eater, Dean Sprout, you put yourself in a very dangerous situation."

"Horace, this is not the first time I have done this. When the Mysterious Man was in power, I was also in school against Snape and Caro brothers and sisters. The Mysterious Man didn't deal with me. Could the current politicians hear the opposition? Are you going to deal with me?"

"Although they won't let a python eat you like a mysterious person, but they can make you discredited. Think about Sirius Black. Just one piece of news. It was the Azkaban escape that he led, and the public Believe it, his reputation did not recover until after the war. Those reporters could easily ruin a public figure. Now you show up at school with Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy. What are you thinking about? Na?"

"Malfoy's father did not participate in the murders and tortures. He is not a completely innocent person. Now he wants to redeem his sins, why can't he give him a chance?"

"Give you a piece of advice. I know you want to be a fair and just person, but you are just asking for trouble. Lucius Malfoy once publicly declared that he does not support the marriage of wizards and Muggles. I heard Hannah. Albert went to the party too, how can you confirm that Malfoy was not the murderer of her mother?"

"Oh my God, Horace, do you really think Malfoy the Peacock can kill?" Pomona said with a laugh.

"Even if it wasn't him, it could have been done by him, and the son of the Death Eater family that Neville Longbottom embraced. How is his situation now?"

"You are influencing me, are you? Professor?" Pomona calmed down and looked at Slughorn's green eyes. "Do you think you can control the situation by doing this?"

"You are a temptation, Pomona. Everyone who studies potions wants to have an assistant like you. Although you are not as talented as Lily in potions, you can get everything I want in time. Get ready, even if it’s a plant on the other side of the earth, you can make it fresh in front of me. Dumbledore knows what I like. He invited me back to Hogwarts to teach and use Harry Potter. I I made a choice that I thought was wise. I became the teacher of the savior. He became the most shining collection on my cabinet, but when I appeared in public, it was unavoidable to be whispered. Everyone was talking about me. Mysterious man’s teacher, my secret, oh, hell, I shouldn’t have told him on impulse at that time."

"What's the secret?" Pomona asked inexplicably.

"I want to live a peaceful life. Isn't the turbulence that I have experienced in this life hard enough?" Slughorn said grumpyly, "I hate spiders."

Although I don’t know the detailed process, Slughorn’s revealing the secret of the Horcrux to Harry is indeed related to the eight-eyed spider Aragok. The exciting life is really not suitable for the elderly.

"As long as Dumbledore is the principal, the faculty is safer than most people. Later, he died. I couldn't remain indifferent to the death of Kariti Bubbaji. I am scared now. Yes, I am already an old man who is about to fall into the soil. But I’m still very afraid of death. I haven’t contacted anyone outside of school for two years." He sighed, "You have obviously withdrawn, why did you jump into this circle of right and wrong?"

"I have no choice." Pomona touched the turquoise bracelet on her wrist and said, "I think my destiny has been cursed, Horace."
