Help! I don't want to NTR the protagonist!

38 38. The Saint's problem

If this was really the case then the information-gathering ability of the revolutionary army could only be said to be severely lacking at best.

This was a severe problem that had to be looked into.

In the worst case then someone could lose their life because of this negligence. This was especially true now that Camilla and Lucius were so far behind enemy lines.

Looking at Camilla's expression, I'm afraid that if there wasn't a good enough reason, then soon heads would have to roll!

Thinking like this, Camilla pursed her lips before asking,

"With such an amazing background, it's unbelievable that this guy was never heard of before. Is he some sort of secret talent that was carefully trained in the church or something?"

As Alice heard this question, she thought for a while before shaking her head.

"I've asked around, but I've never heard such a rumour. Apparently, the talents of Saints of Light are not like most talents. They are often dormant in the body before they are awakened and even the most high grade talent testers won't be able to intensify them before they awaken. Unfortunately, the way of awakening the dormant Saint of Light talent is completely random, so nobody ever knows if someone with the Saint of light talent is walking right next to you!"

Hearing this, Lucius nodded his head.

If you wanted evidence, was there any better one than this blonde-haired beauty speaking in front of him?

Lucius couldn't help but think of the comical appearance Alice would make if he told her that she was also one of these legendary Saints of Light herself.

Unaware of Lucius's thoughts, Alice contained her explanation.

"Apparently, he was just an orphan raised by a small church in an unknown village before he came to The Sanctuary. Even the person in question didn't know that he had the Saint of Light talent before he left for Sanctuary, so he must have only awakened the talent recently."

Camilla listens and watched with an ever growing grin on her face

Lucius just listened to Alice's words with alarm bells going off in his head

Others may not know much about this guy, but how could the same apply to Lucius?

With such a vivid and overpowered description, there was only one hug that fit the shoe, the original protagonist of the story, Landon!

Looking at the crowd, Lucius could see the faint image of a terrifyingly handsome man emerging from within.

He was dressed in a white academy uniform that seemed to have been perfectly designed for him. Even Lucius, a man that could completely match him in terms of handsomeness, was still beaten in that regard.

The Young man's hair was a pale snowy white and his crystal blue eyes shone with a vibrant vigour that was like dazzling Sapphire's in the summer sun.

Everywhere he looked, he could see that there was a group of people eagerly walking up to make friends with him.

But even with that, as Lucius looked closer he could still see that there was still a good portion of people that remained unmoved. In fact, it would be more accurate to describe them as two separate groups and Lucius could even see that some of them were looking at Landon with a faintly hostile gaze!

It was then that Lucius remembered the biggest problem Landon would have to face in the story's

'That's right! The nobles!'

Lucius quickly thought back to the story and quickly remembered the true crux of the problem.

This was a world dominated by the nobility where they had the uncontested right to speak and act how they pleased and this was not all without reason.

In the Novel, it was stated that at least 90% of the hero rank talents would only occur and be born from the 5 heroic bloodlines of the ancient heroes.

This may not seem so bad, but you have to remember that Heroic Talents were the peak of the potential sealing in this world.

There were only ever a handful of heroic talents in each generation and every single one came from a noble family

Naturally, with such a system, a hero-rank talent appearing amongst a commoner would be a great problem.

This was not to say that the heroic talent, 'Saint of Light' hadn't been born among commoners before. In fact, it was actually quite common. The problem was that all saints of light had a particular characteristic.

Maybe it was because of excessive favour from the goddess herself or some even say it was a strange curse prepared by the first demon king but all previous saints of light had one characteristic without fail.

They were all like Alice.

They showed exceptional talents in healing and support spells but had absolutely no personal combat capabilities

Of course, such a trait didn't mean that they were a Saint of light. In fact, Such characteristics were rather common but any Saint of Light would suffer from this problem without fail.

That was until the appearance of Landon.

For the first time in history, the Saint of Light actually showed personal combat abilities and not just any old combat abilities but power so strong it would make even other heroic talents of the same rank feel daunted.

For nobles that like to control the status quo this was an immediate cause for concern

To make matters worse, the situation between the church and the noblemen of the empire, especially the royal family, was not so good right now.

In times of trouble, the empire and the church were the greatest allies, working together to solidify and protect humanity regardless of the situation they faced but now the situation was different.

It had been 10 years since the demon king had been killed by the coalition of heroes leaving the current demons as a scattered mob fighting separately amongst themselves

Even the old leader of the revolutionary army had been killed and their spies had infiltrated it pretty deep.
