Help! I don't want to NTR the protagonist!



"Aghhh!"

Two explosions went off as the treant let off a terrifying screech, causing the attacking vines to fall limply to the floor.

Lucius paused for a second in disbelief before looking over in the direction of the attack 

Looking back Lucius could see a beautiful purple-haired girl smiling back at him haughtily 

'This girl….'

Unfortunately, Lucius didn't have the time to admire her heroic appearance. The treant was now injured and revealing an opening, how could Lucius pass it up?

His body flickered forward as he approached the treant at shocking speeds

The treant tried to punch Lucius but he easily jumped over its fist, landing the treant's arm and using it to run up towards its upper body.

It's only when he reached what he could only describe as the treant's 'shoulder' did Lucius raise his sword to try and cut it

"Bang!"

Lucius's  sword logged deep into the shoulder of the treant but it still wasn't enough to  cut it off.

The treant groaned in pain as vines appeared and shot towards Lucius but even after he failed to cut off the arm Lucius didn't panic and instead smirked.

The attack was never meant to succeed in the first place.

It was just a distraction!

Lucius easily waved pats the vines and dropped to the floor in front of the treant's chest as his sword burst with a dazzling blue light.

Lucius stepped forward and viciously slashed at the treant's unprotected front leaving a giant hole cracked in the treant's bark.

Alone that was nowhere near enough to bring down a creature as tanks as treant, but the thing is, Lucius wasn't alone.

"Boom! Boom ! Boom!"

Just seconds after Lucius made  his attack countless flying flame arrows lodged their way inside of the slash Lucius made and Without the protective outer layer proved by the hard tree ba, the treant was just a large piece of firewood and lit up like a giant torch.

Lucius and Veronica watched the novel bonfire display when the ground suddenly shook 

Thud!

Thud!

  Looking up Lucius could see a horrifying sight walking through the sea of flames.

Like the monsters before, the thing he saw was definitely a treant, but this one was just too big!

It was easily several circles larger than all its compatriots

Seeing Lucius standing next to the body of its fellow kin, it could already guess what happened and let of a deafening shriek

Seeing so many vines rushing toward him, Lucius's scalp tingled!

He didn't dare stay  and face such an attack and instantly turned to retreat.

Unfortunately for Lucius, these vines were like homing missiles, no matter where he ran they somehow managed to track him down.

Eventually, Lucius was unable to dodge any longer and was forced to cut down an attacking vine but the rest of the vines were like sharks that had just smelt blood. As soon as there was a gap in Lucius's defences they all rushed around.

Soon Lucius was practically surrounded by vines chopping them down like a complete madman but it was clear for anyone to see he was being pushed back.

But just beige Lucius could lose all hope a wave of flames suddenly shot out of the floor. Burning these vines to a crisp.

Lucius didn't even have to look around to know which lucky angel he had to thank for the clutch save 

It was of course Veronica.

Her purple hair was flowing wildly as two balls of flames were gathered in each hand.

Lucius watched as the fireballs smashed down into the giant treant!

But Lucius didn't just remain there gawking. Using the raging flames as a smokescreen and appeared beside one of the treant's trunk like legs.

Raising his sword that shone with a blinding blue light, Lucius hacked down at the treant. 

But not long after Lucius's attack landed,  his face turned pretty ugly.

Nothing!

Lucius slashed with almost all of his might yet it was like his attack had done nothing.

It barely managed to break through the treant's outer layer of bark and deal any damage!

To make matters worse, the treant had also noticed Lucius's bug-like attack and smashed  its foot down. Even though Lucius quickly dodged, it caused a miniature earthquake which made him stumble for a while.

Just as Lucius recovered, he could see the treant raise its massive arm to punch him.

Seeing this sight, Lucius just sneered.

He had dodged many of the other treant's punched by now and knew he could doge them easily so he didn't retreat too far  in case he could find another opportunity to get an attack in.

Although Lucius dodged the attack, his heart couldn't stop beating wildly.

That kind of an attack was too deadly.

If he was hit head on by  such a behemoth,  he would be seriously injured if not simply die outright!

Lucius saw the Treabt continuing to move towards him but this time he didn't dare be arrogant and quickly backed off, trying to create some distance.

But for some reason this treant just didn't want to let him go!

Its fists came crashing down like flying boulders smashing into the ground  causing Lucius to have the illusion that he was in the middle of an earthquake. But just as the Treant was about to take another step a set of giant flame whips shot out of the surrounding flames and reposed around the treant causing it to freeze up in place.

The treant screamed as it felt itself wrapped up in the flame whip binings.

The Treant roared as it found itself wrapped up and bound in the hateful fire element.;

But Just as a triumphant smile was about to appear on Veronica's face, her eyes shook.

No matter how talented Veronica was, she had only been in the academy for a few weeks; she couldn't completely restrict a monster of such size even if she had an elemental advantage.

With one deafening  roar the treant stretched its arms completely breaking free of Veronica's magic rest it's causing Veronica to stumble backwards and the sudden backlash of her magic being shattered.
