Chapter 183 Malfoy Manor
Southwest England, Wiltshire.
A dignified lord's mansion welcomed a guest.
Snape walked leisurely along a country road, and finally he stopped in front of an exquisite wrought iron gate.
He reached out and touched the door in front of him.
The wrought iron on the gate began to twist and deform, and finally the abstract curling pattern twisted into a terrifying face, saying in an echoing metallic voice: "Say the purpose of your visit."
"I'm Severus, and I'm here to see Lucius Malfoy."
The door opened immediately.
Snape continued to walk along the path behind the door. The tall hedge on the right blocked his view, and he could only occasionally catch a glimpse of some pure white tail feathers floating on the upper edge of the hedge.
That is the white peacock raised by the Malfoy family.
A moment later, Snape's figure appeared in front of the stone steps of a very respectable mansion.
Lucius Malfoy, wearing a suit of well-tailored and gorgeous robes, stood at the door with Draco waiting for him.
"Professor, good morning." Draco greeted him very politely, but Snape just nodded slightly to him with a cold face.
Neither the Malfoy nor his son were surprised by Snape's reaction. The old bat had always been so cold.
"Long time no see, Severus," Lucius smiled, "What brings you here?"
"There is something very important..." Snape glanced at Draco, who was following Lucius, "About the diary."
Lucius's already pale face suddenly turned even whiter.
"Draco, go back to your room."
Draco glanced at his father in confusion. Because of Lucius's usual majesty, Draco did not dare to disobey him.
"Let's talk in the study." Lucius took the initiative to lead Snape the way.
The two passed through the foyer with portraits hanging on both sides of the walls, and then passed through the spacious and magnificent living room. After walking up a flight of stairs, the two came to Lucius's elegantly decorated study.
A roaring fire burned in the marble fireplace, dispelling the chill in the dark manor.
A house elf took the initiative to serve coffee to the two of them.
Snape leaned back on the chair, staring closely at Lucius, keenly capturing the subtle expressions on his face.
"Are you loyal enough to the Dark Lord? Lucius?"
When he heard the Dark Lord's name, Lucius' hand holding the silver spoon to stir the coffee inevitably trembled.
"Sev, my loyalty to the Dark Lord is unquestionable."
But there was clearly a hint of panic in his voice.
Snape sneered, "I can't see, can I? I think you know what that diary is about."
A few drops of cold sweat appeared on Lucius's forehead, and the burning fireplace failed to dispel the coldness in Lucius's heart.
Being caught, Lucius, who had always been eloquent, didn't know how to defend himself for a moment.
His hand slowly slid towards the cane leaning against the armrest of the chair, where his wand was hidden.
"Lucius, don't be nervous."
Snape put down the coffee cup in his hand and said softly, "Actually, we are the same kind of person."
The same kind of person?
Lucius stopped the small movements of his hands and began to think about the meaning of Snape's words.
Does this same kind of person refer to... Erwuzi?
"Horcrux, do you know this magic?"
Snape continued to speak, interrupting Lucius's racing thoughts.
"Horcrux? Of course I know..."
Lucius replied without thinking, he was a little curious as to why Snape suddenly brought the topic to dark magic.
A possibility struck Lucius's mind like a thunder, and he instantly became sweaty.
"Then do you know that the diary you used to frame Weasley is the Dark Lord's Horcrux?"
The coffee cup in Lucius' hand fell to the ground, and the liquid in the cup instantly stained a large area of the clean carpet, and also wet Lucius's polished leather shoes.
But Lucius couldn't care less about that now.
"Sev, what do you want?"
Snape lifted up the left sleeve of his robe, "I want you to contact those former Death Eaters and summon them."
Lucius's eyes widened in disbelief. He was obviously frightened by what Snape said.
He kept shaking his head, "No, Severus... It took a lot of effort for me to have such a stable life today..."
Snape strode forward, crossed the table in front of them, and placed the faded mark on his left forearm in front of Lucius.
"Do you think you have a choice? Lucius?" Snape's voice was hoarse. "The Dark Lord has more than one Horcrux."
Lucius looked at Snape in horror.
"According to Dumbledore's speculation, the Dark Lord has at least two Horcruxes, but his speculation is still too conservative."
Snape lowered his sleeves and covered up the Dark Mark on his hand.
"As far as I know of the Horcruxes so far, there are four in total!"
"Do you think you are the only one who has the honor of keeping the Horcruxes for the Dark Lord?"
"More than ten years ago, he also handed over two other Horcruxes to Bellatrix Lestrange and Regulus Black respectively."
Lucius slumped down on the chair in shock, breathing heavily.
The news that Snape dropped was so shocking that he couldn't accept it for a while.
After reacting, deep fear surged into Lucius's heart, and the boundless fear almost swallowed him up.
Such a large number of Horcruxes means that Voldemort's comeback is bound to happen, but it will only happen sooner or later.
At that time, if Voldemort discovered that Lucius had the audacity to abandon his Horcrux and also caused damage to his soul...
Being able to die happily was a happy relief for Lucius at that time.
"Severus, you must help me!"
Snape walked up to Lucius, pressed his hands on the armrests of the chair, and looked down coldly at the pale Lucius.
His voice was like a devil's whisper:
"I want to set up an organization that is hidden within the Death Eaters, but not completely included in them..."
Lucius took a deep breath, suppressed the panic in his heart, and said, "I'll join."
He looked up at Snape, "Can I know what your purpose is?"
"I intend to resurrect the Dark Lord."
Lucius's face, which regained some color, instantly turned back to its pale white color.
"My abilities are not enough to accomplish my true goal, so I will use the power of the Dark Lord."
He glanced at Lucius, who was trembling like a chicken, "As long as you are willing to help me, I will not report you to the Dark Lord."
"And after that, we can use Dumbledore's power..."
What Snape didn't say was that he could also use Grindelwald's power.
"After that, you and I will be free and no longer have to live under the shadow of the Dark Lord."
Lucius nodded dejectedly, he had no choice.
"What is the name of our organization?"
"Death Eater is the shell it uses to disguise itself," Snape thought for a moment and gave a name - "Shell."
He stretched out his hand towards Lucius, "We need some sufficiently stable safeguards."
When Snape left Malfoy Manor, there were three faint chain marks on the back of his hand.
Those are the traces left by an unbreakable oath.
