Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 103 Old House Renovation

The Screaming Shack has been abandoned for who knows how long. The slightest movement in the house will stir up a large amount of dust, which makes people feel uncomfortable. The boarded-up doors and windows have not been opened for many years, and there is a strange smell in the house.

Over the years, rumors of hauntings have spread, and the dilapidated Shrieking Shack is indeed suitable for hauntings. "Remote" mountain villages and long-abandoned ancient houses all tell others: Do you want to see ghosts? Come to the Screaming Shack!

It was because of this temptation that Ada, who had always been very curious, foolishly searched for all the information about the Screaming Shack, wasting her limited life.

Unexpectedly, the plan failed to keep up with the change. The original intention was to explore a secret passage that I had never been to. Who knew that behind the secret passage was the Screaming Shack! This was supposed to be a good thing. There was no way to find it after trying to break through the iron shoes, and it took no effort to get it.

This can be regarded as a "double happiness", but the Screaming Shack is really just famous, and there are no ghosts at all. Ada was so happy that she naturally felt a sense of loss in her heart.

"What should we do now?" George waved his hands to disperse the dust in front of him, "Do you want to go back?"

"There's nothing to see here. Everything is in tatters." Fred walked around the room, and pieces of dust were thrown up by his footsteps. Ada and George could only keep waving.

"If you keep walking back and forth, I'll break your legs!" George said angrily, "Ada, if we don't go back first, I feel like my lungs are going to explode."

Ada's mind was moving very quickly, and countless inspirations and ideas burst out of her mind. Ada had not studied the laws of the British wizarding world, so she was not sure whether this approach was feasible.

"Ada, what are you thinking about?" Fred waved his hands in front of her eyes, "Let's go back."

"If you are really so reluctant to leave the haunted house, we can just find another haunted house during the summer vacation." George said, reaching out his right hand to pull her up.

"What do you think, how about I tidy up this place?" Ada stood up and walked around the room like Fred just now. The dust that had just landed was flying in the room again.

Fred spread his hands and walked around the room. He said: "The place here is not small, and it is very laborious to clean up. And don't you have an underground room? What else do you want here?"

"I don't know what Ada is going to do, but the haunting rumors about the Shrieking Shack are going to start again," George said with a smile.

"You know, I came from..."

Fred raised his hand to interrupt Ada and said, "Stop! I know your life experience, just tell me what you want to do!"

"My idea is very simple, I want to own a house of my own." Ada said with her hands behind her back. The obsession with buying a house is something that Ada has brought in her bones and cannot be changed.

It is very difficult for Ada, who has no wealth, to buy a house. She does not have an underground vault in Gringotts to back her up, so she can only rely on herself to plan everything.

Although the shack is dilapidated, if it is repaired properly, it can be used for living. This can save a lot of money, and the villagers will not disturb the people living here because they are afraid of the rumors of haunted houses. Get some peace and quiet.

Now, the question before Ada was how she could gain ownership of the Screaming Shack. The house has been vacant for many years, and no one has ever mentioned the owner of the house. Even if she wants to buy a house, she doesn't know who to go to, not to mention that Ada can't afford so many galleons now.

Although Ada has no money, no one has taken care of this house. She can live in it secretly and wait until later to discuss the money. What's more, this is a "haunted house", and such houses usually cannot be sold at a high price.

"You can live in the Burrow. Mom also said that the Burrow is your home!" Fred said loudly. He felt a fire in his chest. He was very angry now.

"I can't live in the Burrow all my life. It will be a matter of time before I move out, just like Bill and Charlie after a while." Ada explained that she was very grateful to Wes who treated her as a family member. Lai's family, but she really can't live there for the rest of her life. The children will eventually be independent when they grow up.

George's tone was equally bad. Ada's words made him feel very angry. George said: "It's different. Bill is already an adult. How old are you!"

Ada silently pointed out four fingers. The green-white fingers made the two brothers feel very dazzling. They were one year younger than Ada. No, twins who are only half a year old and one year apart will not admit it.

The twins knew that Ada was right, but they just couldn't accept this tone. Fred muttered: "We won't help you, but we are willing to clean it up. You can clean it up by yourself, it will make you exhausted!"

After saying that, the sulky twins left the shack without saying a word and went back into the tunnel. Ada walked around the room alone, put down materials, and left. She already had a decoration plan for a thousand galleons in her mind, but she didn't have that much money, so the decoration plan could only be put on hold for the time being.

On the way back to the castle, the twins walked very quickly in front, showing no intention of waiting for Ada. Ada followed behind and did not chase the twins. Ada felt that they were just unable to survive for a while and would be fine in a few days.

Ada thought to herself that it would be really difficult for her to clean up such a room by herself. The house was so dirty that it would be a big project to clean it up, but Ada had already figured out who to ask for help, and she would not let the matter out.

After returning to the castle, Ada went directly to the kitchen. She didn't go to the kitchen to find food. She went to the kitchen to find helpers. The house elf Winnie was the helper that Ada thought of.

House elves were conquered by wizards in ancient times. After every elf is born, they are taught to obey their master's orders unconditionally. They are slaves of an ancient and wealthy wizarding family. Being driven out of their homes by their masters is the most humiliating thing for them.

There are many house elves in Hogwarts, and it is because of their existence that the school keeps the castle tidy and has delicious meals.

Ada will not regard herself as Winnie's master just because of Winnie's words "Miss", so this is not an order, but a request. Ada asks Winnie to help her organize the Screaming Shack.

When the house elf Winnie knew that she could help Ada, her expression was very happy, and her tennis ball-sized eyes were full of joy. The only bad thing was that she had to go to the Shrieking Shack.

Even though she is a little scared, Winnie will definitely go. The servility of house elves is deeply engraved in her bones. Ada also knew this, and she repeatedly assured that the rumors there were just rumors, and that she would go with Winnie and would not let Winnie be there by herself.

When they were having dinner in the auditorium in the evening, the twins' suffocation still hadn't gone away. Not only did they not talk to Ada, they didn't even look at her, and they sat far away from each other.

This situation made everyone confused. Ada and the twins had always been together in the past, and everyone could always see the three of them together. But what's going on now? After a Christmas holiday, why are these three people still "parting ways"?

Angelina and Aaliyah had question marks in their eyes. Sitting next to Ada, they also wanted to know what happened between the three of them. How did it end up like this?
