Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 33 An unexpected gain

Ada's belly was stuffed with delicious turkey, roast and Christmas pudding, and she left the auditorium contentedly. When leaving, I held some gifts drawn from the wizard's lottery pack and firecrackers in my arms. Includes a brand new set of Gobstone toys and a beautiful wizard chess set.

In the afternoon, Ada originally planned to study Professor McGonagall's notebook by the fireplace, but the fireplace in the lounge was occupied in advance by several soaked students.

These boys had been having a snowball fight on the playground for a long time. Each of them looked like they had just been fished out of the black lake. They stood by the fireplace, baking their clothes and themselves.

Ada, who lost her fireplace, had to stay in the dormitory. If the notes in her hand were replaced with comics and a bottle of Kuolo was given to her, she would be a proper home girl.

This stay lasted all afternoon, and it wasn't until all the turkey in her belly was digested that Ada was willing to leave the dormitory and go out to look for food.

Ada ate some sandwiches and Christmas cake, which finally calmed her hungry brain. However, being in a state of being full of food and wine is the easiest way for people to lose their dreams, and the same goes for Ada. She is lying on the bed lazily like a salted fish, not wanting to do anything.

This happy Christmas allowed Ada to relax a bit, and she even hoped that today would never end. But her hope is destined to fail. Besides, she is still a person with ideals and ambitions. How can she really keep doing this forever?

The twin brothers asked Ada one thing before going home. They asked Ada to go to the mirror on the fifth floor to see if there really is a secret passage in it.

During the vacation, Ada would go there every day to take a look. The mirror was embedded in the wall. There was some distance between the bottom and the ground, and complex patterns were carved around it.

These engraved patterns are full of mystery and always attract Ada's attention, but she has never been able to find any clues from them.

Now that she thought about the mirror, Ada decided to take a look again. It was still early anyway and the curfew hadn't come yet.

Ada, wearing a cloak, stood in front of the mirror, looking like a student who happened to pass by the mirror and stopped to show off her beauty. Even if someone saw it, it would not be strange.

Ada, who had been staring at the mirror, could no longer recognize herself in the mirror. She felt that she was being ridiculed by the "Ada" reflected in the mirror.

Today's good mood was ruined by this mirror. In anger, she kicked it towards the mirror.

Ada used a lot of force with this kick, but it failed to cause even a little crack in the mirror. Not only did the mirror do nothing, it actually caused her own foot pain.

"It hurts... it hurts..." Ada, who had humiliated herself, squatted on the ground and massaged Guangrong's injured right foot with her hands.

This damn mirror really doesn't give her any face! Leaving the comfortable dormitory on Christmas night and standing in the deserted corridor, Ada felt that she was really full and had nothing to do!

Ada swore that when the twin brothers came back, she would kill them both to make herself angry.

Ada, who was dragging her "injured" right foot and was about to leave, made a new discovery, and the steps that were supposed to leave stopped. She suddenly noticed some changes in the patterns around the mirror, something that had never happened before!

It seems that the kick he just kicked must have accidentally triggered some mechanism, so these patterns are different. Ada thought in her mind.

The changes in these complicated patterns are not obvious, they are only slightly sunken, making it difficult for people to notice. If Ada hadn't looked carefully enough before, she wouldn't have discovered this at all.

While observing carefully with her eyes, Ada reached out her hand to touch these sunken places. These changed places felt like the shapes of letters, but she couldn't distinguish them clearly yet.

After distinguishing these letters clearly, Ada began to try to combine and arrange them, trying to restore them into a complete sentence. Her memory was already very good, but it got even better after making the wall hanging. It was not difficult to memorize these letters.

Ada squatted on the ground and kept writing and drawing on the ground with her fingers, trying to first restore the letters into words, and then put them together into sentences one by one. It’s just that there are many ways to combine them, and Ada couldn’t put them together for a while.

She tried many combinations, but there were always some letters left. After a long time, Ada, who had lost many brain cells, finally finished the piece, and her frowning brows relaxed.

Ada stood up and observed the corridor first, but found no one else. Ada, who was relieved now, opened her arms and said to the mirror: "Show me the world in the mirror!"

As Ada's ceremonial voice fell, the mirror in front of her slowly disappeared, and a dark entrance appeared in front of Ada. The entrance was not big, just enough for one person to pass through.

Ada took out her wand and muttered in a low voice: "Flashing fluorescent light!" She walked in with the light of [Fluorescent Spell].

After entering, there is a small platform, which can probably accommodate three or four people. A tunnel extending downwards was connected under the platform, and Ada fired the light ball from the tip of the wand along the tunnel.

Under the influence of the light group, Ada also saw the tunnel clearly. Its slope was not steep and it was easy to go up and down, but the end could not be seen.

There was a torch that had been stored for who knows how long at the entrance of the tunnel. Ada used the [Fire Curse] to light the torch, held the torch in her left hand, and walked into the tunnel with the wand in her right hand.

The only light in the dark tunnel was the torch in Ada's hand, and the only sound was her footsteps. She felt like she could hear the beating of her heart in her chest.

The tunnel was not straight down. There were many turns along the way, and Ada didn't know how long she had walked. Fortunately, she finally reached the end of the tunnel.

Ada raised the torch high, trying to figure out where she was now. It's just that the area that the torch can illuminate is really limited, and she can't see the whole place. She just thinks that this place should be underground at Hogwarts.

Ada used the [Fluorescent Spell] again, this time using a lot of magic power, and the [Fluorescent Spell] became a little dazzling. She raised her wand high and fired the ball of light into the air, like a flare in the dark night.

With this magic flare, Ada finally saw this place clearly. It was a large room with many giant statues around the walls. They not only supported the room, but also seemed to be looking down at everyone who entered. It gives people a full sense of oppression.

There was nothing in this room except stones scattered on the floor. Ada looked up at these statues. Most of them had been damaged, and a few had collapsed on the ground. It seemed that they had become like this due to age.

This was supposed to be a good secret space, but the stones that kept falling from the statue reminded Ada that there was a possibility of landslide here at any time.

Holding a torch, Ada carefully walked through the room to the opposite side, where another upward tunnel appeared. It seemed that this was another entrance and exit.

Ada walked slowly along the newly emerged tunnel. This time she didn't go too long. She reached the end and opened a stone door in front of her. The bright moonlight poured in.

The exit is located in a village, and the towering castle of Hogwarts is not far from the village. The name of this small village is easy to come out - Hogsmeade.

Fortunately, there were no pedestrians passing by on the road, so no one noticed Ada who suddenly appeared here.

Ada had no intention of visiting Hogsmeade on a cold night. Now that she had discovered the secret passage, she had naturally completed the task assigned by the twins, so she decided to return the same way.

After passing through the long tunnel again, Ada returned to the original platform. She was not in a hurry to get out. She could observe whether anyone was passing by in the corridor through the mirror at the entrance.

It's been a long walk, so it's already past the curfew when we get back here, so it's better to be careful.

After waiting on the platform for a while, Ada came out of the secret passage. She first cast the [Disguise Curse] on herself, which made her feel a chill from head to toe, as if someone had just cast a chill on her. She poured a glass of ice water into her pocket.

As the spell took effect, the color of Ada's body merged into the surrounding environment. Like a chameleon, the "invisible" Ada returned to the common room with confidence and boldness.

Ada, who was lying on the bed in the dormitory, did not fall asleep quickly. Her body was very tired, but everything about tonight made her very excited, as if every cell in her body was carefully reviewing everything that happened tonight.

This night, from Hogwarts Castle to the giant room buried deep underground, and then to Hogsmeade, the village of wizards, there seemed to be no danger along the way, but everywhere gave Ada a thrilling feeling.

She was fascinated by the act of walking underground in Hogwarts late at night, exploring the secrets of the castle.

Ada now likes this kind of exciting life more and more. Maybe she is not a stable person at heart. The Sorting Hat sorted her into Gryffindor, probably because of this trait in her!
