Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 636 Regulus Black

The tapestry full of people's names is very old and dark in color. The history of the Black family can be traced back to the Middle Ages through the tapestry's branching family tree.

Hearing the footsteps, Sirius turned his head and looked at Ada who was approaching.

He said disdainfully: "Want to come and visit? 'The most ancient and noble Black family, forever pure'. Disgusting."

This sentence was embroidered on the top of the tapestry and was the self-promotion of the Black family. When it came out of Sirius's mouth, it was full of contradiction.

Ada looked at the tapestry, starting from the top and looking down. Many of the people in it had left traces in the history of magic.

For example, Phineas Nigellus Black, the most unpopular headmaster Hogwarts has ever had, was Sirius's great-great-grandfather. Then there's Araminta Melifran, a ruthless man who wants to legalize the killing of Muggles.

This tapestry can also be seen from the Black family's vast in-law relationships, which covers almost most of the pure-blood families.

There are twenty-eight pure-blood families including Burke, Crouch, Flint, Crabbe, Longbottom, Malfoy, Weasley, Macmillan, Yaxley, Bulstrode, as well as Gamp and Powder Famous wizarding families such as Te and Potter.

Unexpectedly, there is no one who is not related to the Black family. It can be said that they are relatives all over the world.

Time has passed, and now Sirius is the only male member of the Black family left, and he is still a bachelor.

Ada also discovered an interesting place, that is, Sirius' parents Orion and Walburga. The two of them were actually cousins, a proper consanguineous marriage.

No wonder Walburga Black always said when he cursed: Defile the house of my ancestors, the house of my fathers.

"Ah, you also discovered it, didn't you, my lovely parents." Sirius said, "They are always pure. Their union is to ensure that Black's bloodline is not stained."

Pure-blood families, especially the Twenty-Eight Holy Families, all flaunt their purity of blood, but in fact there are no such families in the magic world. The Black family also has half-blood in-laws, or people who marry Muggles. These people who betrayed their bloodline were expelled from the family and never recognized.

As he spoke, Sirius pointed to his name, and the place embroidered with his name was burned black. There are not many people in the entire family tree whose names have been burned off like Sirius.

For example, people like Isla, Cedrella, Andromeda and others who are married to Muggle blood, little Phineas and others who support Muggle rights, and Squibs like Marius, even marry Weasley. May be removed.

Sirius mocked his family. He said that Alphard was removed from the family just because he sponsored him who ran away from home.

Ada, who was staring at the tapestry, didn't pay much attention to Sirius's complaints. It went in one ear and out the other, which was totally out of her mind. Ada had been staring at a name, Regulus Black, Sirius' biological brother.

After reading the note left by R.A.B., Ada tries to find him.

After some efforts, she found Rosaleen Antigon Bangers and Rupert Axbank Brookstanton. However, although these two names match the abbreviation of R.A.B., they are completely inconsistent in other aspects.

Today I visited the Blake family tree. At first, Ada didn't pay much attention to "Regulus Blake". There were several people with this name on the tapestry. Until Ada saw the death date of Sirius' brother, she seemed to grasp something.

"Your brother Regulus is a Death Eater, right?" Ada asked, having heard it from Lucius Malfoy.

In the past, Lucius had a high status among the Death Eaters, and he knew most of them. Regulus could be considered his brother-in-law, so he naturally knew that his brother-in-law had also joined the Death Eaters.

"Yes, he died at the hands of one of their own people." Sirius said, "He is the pride of my parents and a brave little hero."

Ada then asked, "Can I ask his full name?"

"Regulus Arcturus Black, what's wrong?" Ada's sudden seriousness made Sirius confused.

Without answering Sirius' question, Ada walked straight to the glass cabinets on both sides of the fireplace. If Regulus was really R.A.B., the locket was probably in the cupboard, where many old items in the house were piled.

However, there is no Slytherin locket in the cupboard!

The cupboard only contained belongings from the Black family, with the family crest engraved on it, and some dangerous dark magic items, except for the locket.

Although she didn't know what Ada was looking for, it must be related to Regulus. Sirius suggested, "Why don't you go to his room and have a look? Maybe what you're looking for is there."

As soon as he finished speaking, Sirius was dragged out of the living room by the resolute Ada.

Sirius and Regulus' bedrooms were on the top floor of the house, along with one that belonged to their parents.

Pushing open the door and entering, before Sirius could recall his brother, Ada had already turned the place upside down, but there was still nothing. The room contained briefings about Voldemort, faded silver and green decorations, and an old photograph.

"What are you looking for?" Sirius asked, "I can help you think of a solution, but you can't just search blindly."

"Regulus, your brother probably stole the Dark Lord's locket." Ada said eagerly, "That is the Dark Lord's biggest secret."

After hearing Ada's words, Sirius was stunned.

In Sirius's view, Regulus was Voldemort's number one fan. He joined the Death Eaters hopelessly at a young age. He stole Voldemort's things. Are you kidding!

"You mean...his death may not be because he was a coward and wanted to quit the Death Eaters," Sirius asked, "but because he took Voldemort's most important thing?"

"Yes, it is possible. Regulus meets all the requirements."

Regulus's full name matches the abbreviation of R.A.B. He died about seventeen years ago, and the time of his death also matches the sentence "I am willing to risk death in the hope that you will be killed when you meet your opponent."

"Kreacher!" Sirius shouted.

As soon as he called the house elf's name, the bedroom door was pushed open, and the thin, old Kreacher cursed and stepped across the threshold.

Familiar taste, familiar fragrance in the mouth. The house elf was very dissatisfied with today's wedding. In his eyes, Lupine was a dirty wolf and Tonks was a scoundrel who had tarnished Black's reputation.

"Master." Kreacher bowed, his bald head almost touching the ground. The elf faced the ground and said loudly: "The young master is a despicable murderer, a vile creature, not even one ten thousandth as good as Master Regulus."

Fortunately, Sirius understood the importance and remembered Dumbledore's instructions, so he did not take off and sent Kreacher to see his mother Walburga.

Sirius said: "I will talk to you about Regulus today. Did you hide his locket? Give it to me."

Sirius, the rebellious son of the Black family, devoted himself to emptying out the old house and throwing out everything related to Black.

Kreacher, on the other hand, spared no effort to protect everything here. He picked up many things that were thrown away, and he also secretly collected things that he didn't have time to throw away.

"Kreacher doesn't understand what the young master is saying." Kreacher's head was still lowered, close to the ground, maintaining his respect.

Then, Kreacher continued in a voice that everyone could hear: "You degenerate prodigal son, don't try to take anything that belongs to Master Regulus, nothing."

"I knew it was where you were! I ordered you to give it to me!" Sirius shouted, "You idiot!"

House elves must obey their master's orders unconditionally, and the same goes for Kreacher, who was born in the Black family. Kreacher's lifelong wish is to cut off his head like his mother's and glue it to the plaque of the Black family home.

However, when Sirius asked him for Regulus' things, Kreacher was very resistant to this order. Disobeying his master's orders, the house elf frantically banged his head against the ground as if he was going to kill himself.

"Enough. I said enough, stop, you old fool!" Sirius scolded while lifting Kreacher from the ground to prevent the house elf from continuing to harm himself.
