Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 664 The curtain opens

In the evening, it was already time to get off work, but the conference room of the Ministry of Magic was full of people. The meeting lasted for nearly two hours, and there was no possibility of adjourning.

No one thought that Voldemort would go to Diagon Alley to cause havoc, and no one thought that the Dark Lord would choose to kill there.

Whether it's the collapsed Gringotts Wizarding Bank or the destroyed shops, these can all be repaired using magic, but those lost lives will never come back.

There is only so much the Ministry of Magic can do to recover the bodies of the victims and try their best to restore the mutilated bodies. As for delivering justice to these victims and bringing the criminals to justice, this is too difficult for the Ministry of Magic.

"The pale fire dragon flew over London!" The speaker was an old man with a white beard who was a member of the International Federation of Wizards.

The old man danced a Muggle newspaper like crazy, and what he just said was on the front page of the newspaper. Although Ada quickly subdued the escaped dragon and handed it over to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, the dragon was still seen by Muggles.

The fire dragon flew so low when it flew away from Diagon Alley that its body could be seen clearly with the naked eye.

"The Misinformation Office is already working on this matter." Amos Diggory said. "The Muggle newspapers tomorrow morning will have a 'reasonable' explanation for the fire dragon. How do you say that Muggle word... By the way, make a movie!”

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Diggory had explained that the Misinformation Office was dealing with this incident and would never let the wizarding world be exposed to Muggles.

When some disaster or incident caused by magic is too eye-catching and attracts the attention of Muggles, and the Muggle authorities are unable to explain it all, in order to protect the wizarding world, the Misinformation Office will be dispatched.

They will find a reasonable "explanation" for the accident. The disaster caused by giants walking in western England, for example, was blamed on a freak hurricane.

Another example is the Loch Ness monster sighting. It was because of the Misinformation Office's persistent persuasion that Muggles believed that all relevant imaging evidence was false.

Without their hard work, Nessie would have been eliminated long ago.

Not only the Misinformation Office, but also the memory cancellation team will work together. They will erase the memories of the relevant Muggles, or confuse the memories of the Muggles.

By then, Muggles will have forgotten "The Fire Dragon Flying Over London", or will regard it as another Loch Ness monster, or as an unscrupulous hype carried out by the distributor as a blockbuster movie.

It doesn't matter even if a few Muggles remember the true memory. Everyone's words can make a fortune, but as long as most people believe in that false memory, the wizarding world will not be exposed.

The old man from the International Federation of Wizards snorted dissatisfiedly.

He continued: "It's best this way, Director Diggory, the secrecy in the magical world is a first-class matter! I don't want to be held accountable by the Federation, and I believe you don't want to be punished either."

According to Article 73 of the International Confederation of Wizards' Statute of Secrecy: Each wizarding governing body will be responsible for the concealment, care and control of all magical animals, people and ghosts residing within their jurisdiction. If such an animal causes harm to Muggle society or attracts their attention, that country's magical governing body will be subject to disciplinary sanctions by the International Confederation of Wizards.

In other words, once the "Fire Dragon Incident" is not properly handled, the entire British Ministry of Magic will follow suit.

"Mr. Smith!" Mr. Weasley shouted, "The fire dragon appeared over London, but it did not cause any casualties! And, is the most important thing now the fire dragon?"

Mr. Weasley has always had a mild temper. Even when he became the Minister of Magic, he rarely spoke loudly to others, let alone in a tone that was close to reprimanding.

Before Smith could answer, Mr. Weasley continued angrily: "Don't forget, you are also a wizard living in this land! Go to Diagon Alley and see the bodies of the victims. After reading this, you Come back and talk to me again!”

Smith's buttocks were crooked. Instead of standing on the side of his compatriots, he stood on the side of the International Federation of Wizards and blamed the Ministry of Magic for its faults. No wonder Mr. Weasley was so angry.

"If you still can't figure it out - Cornelius Fudge can appoint you as a member of the national committee to represent the United Kingdom, can't I revoke you!" Mr. Weasley slammed the table hard, seeming to regard the table as an old fool. Smith.

The Minister of Magic has the power to appoint national representatives to the International Federation of Wizards, a position previously held by Albus Dumbledore, who also served as President of the Federation.

In 1995, the Ministry of Magic refused to recognize Voldemort's return, so Dumbledore was removed from his position as President of the Federation and his qualification as a British representative. It was also at this time that Fudge appointed Smith.

In 1996, when Voldemort's return was confirmed, Dumbledore resumed his status as a committee member, but he did not return as president of the Federation, and Smith continued to remain in the International Confederation of Wizards.

Seemingly feeling that the atmosphere was a bit tense, Amos Diggory spoke up to lighten the mood.

But what Mr. Diggory said sounded more like he wanted to piss Smith off to death.

He said: "How about this? We will concentrate on dealing with the exposure of the magic world and ensure that you are satisfied. As for you, you can ask the International Federation of Wizards to send a delegation. There is no need to do anything special, as long as they deal with the mysterious man. Just drop it.”

This sentence was even more outrageous than Mr. Weasley's, and it almost made Smith choke to death on the spot. The people around Smith hurriedly helped him put on his chest and beat his back, and he finally came to his senses.

Although Voldemort never expanded his power beyond the United Kingdom, who doesn't know how dangerous the second generation Dark Lord is! If the International Federation of Wizards sends a delegation to destroy Voldemort, isn't that just giving away people's lives?

Ada did not sit at the conference table, but sat lazily in the corner alone.

She continued: "The International Statute of Secrecy is to protect the wizarding world from being exposed to Muggles, in order to protect the safety of wizards. This is not wrong at all, but your decision to sacrifice the basics is completely wrong."

Ada stood up and came to the conference table and continued: "If the British wizarding world is gone, what do we need the International Statute of Secrecy? Or do you think Voldemort, who is killing people in Diagon Alley today, will Comply with the International Statute of Secrecy?”

The name of the mysterious man caused a small confusion at the conference table. His name hung over the wizard's mind like a shadow, lingering. Even though the day of the decisive battle is approaching, many wizards are still afraid of his power.

Smith, the representative of the federation, was speechless and couldn't explain the reason for a long time.

Will Voldemort abide by the International Statute of Secrecy?

Certainly not. Voldemort and his Death Eaters regard Muggles as ants. Who would talk to ants about keeping secrets? After Voldemort came to power, his first thing was to cleanse wizards and get rid of those "unworthy of learning magic". His second thing was to kill Muggles for fun.

The "International Confederation of Wizards' Statute of Secrecy" is bullshit to Voldemort!

If Voldemort hadn't promised the "freedom" that giants, werewolves, dementors and other dark creatures wanted, would they have started a business with Voldemort with their heads high?

"For the International Federation of Wizards, it may be more important not to expose the wizarding world. But for us, survival is the most important thing." Mr. Weasley said, "In the face of a powerful enemy, everything must be done to the coming enemy." Make way for the decisive battle. If the International Federation of Wizards has any dissatisfaction..."

Ada interrupted Mr. Weasley and did not let Mr. Weasley, as the minister, take the responsibility on herself alone.

She interrupted: "If the Federation is in any way dissatisfied with the outcome of the Misinformation Office, we will no longer submit to the International Federation of Wizards. You can also ask your president, Ajinbad, to come in person."

"You!" Smith was surprised. The development of things was completely beyond his expectation.

Smith just wanted to show off his power and show his importance. He never expected that it would trigger such a strong backlash. Babajide Ajinbade, Smith cannot afford to hire the new president of the federation.

"I heard that President Akinbad graduated from Wagadu Magic School. I would like to have a good chat with him, just about how Wagadu students violated the International Secrecy Act."

Ada continued: "It would be better if I could see the exquisite self-transformation, or cast spells without a wand. What do you think?"
