Hogwarts Homecoming
Chapter 1106 Eavesdropping
As the organization led by Dumbledore to resist Voldemort and perhaps the only organization currently fighting against him, Grimmauld Place, the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, is undoubtedly very busy.
During the days that Harry was here, he saw many familiar and unfamiliar faces rushing past here.
After seeing the famous Harry Potter, some people would enthusiastically come forward to talk to him and comfort him about his trial.
Harry also agreed that he would be happy to chat with the backbone of the resistance to Voldemort, but whenever he asked them about what they were doing.
These wizards who were friendly to him immediately became silent and just gave him a friendly smile.
Even some close people such as Sirius would always change the subject and not let them know too much.
On Friday night, when the Order of the Phoenix was about to hold a serious meeting, Mrs. Weasley didn't even let them go downstairs for dinner, but brought them dinner directly upstairs.
Bang!
"Perhaps you won't be so guarded against Death Eaters!"
Amidst Ron's angry shouting, Mrs. Weasley closed the door coldly.
"Give it up, Ron."
Harry sat at the desk by the window, looking at the sun and moon appearing near the horizon at the same time, and said with a dull expression,
"If Sirius doesn't agree with us attending the secret meeting of the Order of the Phoenix, I don't expect anyone else to be merciful."
Ron sniffed angrily, took the dinner plate and roughly placed it on the bedside table between the two beds, and then threw himself on the bed.
A moment later, Ron suddenly howled without any warning. He wrapped his head in the quilt and rolled around on the bed.
Hermione, who was sitting on the floor, was reading a newspaper. She had now completely regarded looking for clues from the newspaper as a pastime.
Hearing Ron howl, Hermione raised her head calmly. She flipped up her hair, and the red-gold sunset light hit the side of her face, reflecting a kind of maturity on her pretty face that neither Harry nor Ron had.
"Are you finally mad, Weasley?"
call!
Ron suddenly jumped up from the bed and wailed,
"Even if we are not allowed to attend the meeting, we should still be allowed to go out for a walk, even if it is just walking in circles in the shabby square outside. We can't be trapped in this house all summer vacation!"
"Sorry, it's all because of me."
Harry woke up from his chaotic thoughts. He was still in a daze and spoke absentmindedly.
"You know it's not all your fault, Harry."
Hermione first looked at Ron accusingly, and then said to Harry calmly,
"The danger is not just for you, Harry, the current situation is dangerous for everyone."
Halfway through her words, Hermione stopped talking and narrowed her eyes at Harry who was lost in thought.
Harry's brain's defense mechanism was ready to receive Hermione's endless sermons, but the sense of incongruity caused by the silence in his ears made him come back from his trance. After noticing Hermione's inquiring gaze, His heart skipped a beat,
"What's wrong, Hermione?"
"Oh, nothing."
Hermione still looked at Harry suspiciously,
"It's just that you seem to have something on your mind, Harry?"
Ron, who had drooped eyelids and looked sleepy, rolled his eyes when he heard this.
"You're talking nonsense, Hermione."
Hermione didn't respond to Ron's sarcasm, but looked at Harry with raised eyebrows, while Harry pursed his lips, feeling entangled in his heart.
"That's actually true"
After a moment's hesitation, Harry decided to tell all about the clear corridor that had appeared in his dreams these days and the door at the end of the corridor. He had no reason to keep it a secret from Hermione and Ron.
Squeak!
At this moment, the door to the room was suddenly pushed open, and Ginny walked in panting. She looked around the room and saw that none of the three Harrys were doing anything serious, so the corners of her mouth curved, revealing a sly smile.
"If anyone wants to have some fun, come with me."
"What good ideas do you have?"
Ron looked at his little sister with distrust,
"What if we are being used as guinea pigs for Fred and George for free again?"
Harry also stopped talking and looked at Ginny, and suddenly realized that Ginny always liked to wear her light gray-green nightgown with gauze sewn on the suspenders during this period.
"Oh, it does have something to do with Fred and George."
Ginny said with a smile,
"But this time, I think the two of them have indeed invented something amazing. If you want to see it, come and see it. If I hadn't discovered their sneaky tricks in the kitchen before, they would have kept it secret!"
Ginny's mysterious appearance whetted the appetites of the three Harrys, so the three of them stood up eagerly and followed Ginny to the fourth floor in a hurry.
The text on the iron sign inlaid on the door of Fred and George's room was changed by the two people to read "Study seriously, please do not disturb".
This made Hermione chuckle twice.
"Send your name!"
When Ginny knocked on the door of the two brothers' room, a voice that could not be identified as Fred or George rang in the room.
"It's me!"
Ginny shouted in a suppressed voice,
"I brought them here!"
The door opened a few seconds later, and Harry jumped over to look at the room. The darkness inside made Harry uncomfortable for a while.
The sun had sunk completely below the horizon, and Fred and George hadn't turned on a light. Not only that, they had drawn the curtains, blocking out the moonlight and streetlights outside.
"What the hell are you doing?"
Ron frowned and looked at Fred who opened the door.
"Why don't you turn on the light?"
"Oh, of course you need a bit of mystery to do this kind of thing, my stupid brother!"
Fred said in a matter-of-fact tone.
When Harry entered the room, he stumbled on something on the ground, but luckily Ginny blocked him.
"Oh, sorry--"
The softness and fragrant fragrance in his arms instantly made Harry's blood surge, but the next second, he stood up straight as if by reflex.
"Um--"
The darkness hid Ginny's flushed cheeks, and her voice was as thin as the fluttering wings of a mosquito.
There were a lot of scattered items on the floor, probably all the works of Fred and George. Harry carefully touched it and saw George sitting on the bed with his back to them through the dim light coming from the unclosed door. He seemed to be working on something. Fidgeting with something.
Click!
Fred closed the door and the room was completely plunged into darkness, but Fred then took out his wand and let the tip of the wand emit a light that was much weaker than the candlelight.
“If it weren’t for our observant little sister, you wouldn’t have had the chance to see such a great and epoch-making product so early!”
Ron curled his lips disdainfully and was about to sneer something, but George on the bed suddenly straightened up and stuffed something into his ear.
"It's done!"
George said.
Ginny and Fred both threw themselves next to George, picked up a small object from the quilt, and stuffed it into their ears excitedly.
"Please allow me to introduce to you our proud product - the monitoring ear!"
George grinned,
"Actually, we decided to call it telescopic ears. We almost completed the first version when we were in fifth grade, but Professor Brain's surveillance mirror gave us some inspiration. After a difficult improvement process, the finished product was finally completed!"
"To thank Professor Brain for inspiring us, we borrowed the name of the surveillance mirror he invented!"
Fred also said excitedly.
In the darkness, Harry, Hermione and Ron looked at each other.
Monitoring mirrors and monitoring ears.
Suddenly at a certain moment, three people rushed towards George's bed.
Harry couldn't wait to put a soft little thing he found on the quilt into his ear. First, what came into his ear was the sound of clinking tableware.
"Isn't Amosta coming to participate?"
said a voice.
"It's Bill's voice!"
Ron was stunned,
"Is he also from the Order of the Phoenix?"
A group of people, including Harry, glared at Ron angrily and told him to shut up. There was a crackling sound accompanying this monitoring ear, which was not particularly clear.
"He sent me a letter and said it would be later."
Another voice answered, Harry recognized it as Mrs. Weasley's.
"Where's Snotlout? He's going to give a report today, isn't he?"
There was clear contempt for Professor Snape in Sirius's voice,
"Hopefully he has something useful to say, otherwise I wouldn't welcome him into my house."
Bang!
There was a small crack.
"Your house? That doesn't match up with some of the rumors I've heard, Blake, as far as I know-"
Snape's cold and sarcastic voice reached Harry's ears.
"The house is now owned by Amosta."
