Hogwarts Homecoming

Chapter 1112 Welcome

In the quiet morning, the rising sun showed only a twisted and hazy outline on the horizon.

The green smoke from the flues embedded in the walls of the new building of the Haas Orphanage rose upwards and dissipated under the sky that was still shrouded in the halo of darkness.

"Why don't you stay a few more days before leaving?"

Looking at Amosta with a warm smile under the rising sun, Mrs. Reagan looked reluctant to leave.

"You have been coming and going in the past two years, Amosta. The children all hope that you can stay here longer."

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Reagan, but I'd also like to take a long vacation for myself -"

Amosta shrugged his shoulders and smiled helplessly.

"But the company is expanding rapidly, and I'm sorry for the sharp increase in business volume. I believe this is just a phase."

Mrs. Reagan looked at the thin cheeks of the young man across from her with distress, and wanted to persuade him to rest more and not need so much pressure, but when the words came to her lips, she swallowed them again.

"Mr. Lawrence——"

Mrs. Reagan's eyes turned to Lawrence, who was wearing a bowler hat and a neat gray and black suit. She also showed reluctance.

"It's a terrible day for the kids. They'll be sad when they wake up and find you and Amosta gone—"

"I'm also reluctant to leave, Mrs. Reagan--"

Lawrence was sincere. He glanced quickly at Amosta, then turned his gaze back and assured,

"I will come back when the trouble is solved, as long as you don't feel like I'm adding to your burden here."

"Oh, you helped me so much."

Mrs. Reagan said, moved and horrified.

Before walking out of the large iron gate of the yard, Lawrence glanced at the Tudor roses bathing in the morning sun in the flower bed, sighed with emotion, and then followed Amosta out of the orphanage.

There were not many pedestrians on the street outside. The only people I met occasionally were merchants who got up early to prepare for the day's business or delivery men delivering milk and newspapers.

These Muggles all knew Amosta, as well as the kindhearted Mr. Lawrence who had generously donated a large sum of money to the Haas Orphanage.

When they met, they greeted the two of them and nodded and smiled at them.

Amosta and Lawrence both responded politely.

"The promise I just made to Mrs. Reagan—"

Turning the corner and leaving the street in front of the orphanage, Lawrence suddenly took off his hat. He uneasily smoothed his gray temples and looked at Amosta with an uneasy expression.

"Can you honor it, Amosta?"

"There's nothing to worry about, Lawrence--"

The message received last night did not add much psychological burden to Amosta. He was like a traveler carrying a suitcase ready to go on vacation, exuding an aura of relief and joy.

"I can promise you that I will bring you back safely from the wizard's court."

Lawrence walked forward in silence, looking like he still had a lot of worry hidden in his heart.

It's not that he doesn't believe Amosta's assurance, nor does he care about his own safety.

Although he knew nothing about the wizarding world, this did not mean that Lawrence did not even have some common sense.

There was obviously a huge conspiracy behind the scene he witnessed. Amosta himself also confessed this to him. The wizard's senior government officials tried to use this man-made tragedy to realize some conspiracy.

Amosta found him, obviously to expose this conspiracy, and this also meant that he was against the wizard's government.

Lawrence glanced at the young profile of Amosta, who seemed to be really carefree.

The government of a country undoubtedly has considerable majesty.

If Master Blaine wants to go against the government that governs wizards, won't he himself be implicated?

"Mr. Amosta?"

After hesitating for a long time, Lawrence asked softly,

"Are we the only ones defending that child? Do you need it?"

"Actually, we have a lot of supporters, Lawrence—"

Amosta didn't seem to understand the old butler's worries. He smiled and said,

"But we don't need too many people to give us momentum. You don't understand, the magic world is actually a very reasonable place."

A very reasonable place?

Lawrence became more worried.

His life experience for most of his life told him that there is no place in this world that is completely legal, unless the magical world established by wizards is a fairy tale kingdom!

"Yeah."

After much thought, Lawrence decided to remind the young master who lacked life experience,

"When the master was alive, I dealt with many officials, as well as judges. To be honest, sometimes in the eyes of those people, the law is not so supreme. Of course, as you said, I don't understand magic. boundary"

"Actually, wizards don't believe in the law that much--"

Amosta chuckled and said,

"But they respect the 'fist' more."

fist? !

Lawrence was stunned.

"Ah, we were lucky that the bus came and we didn't have to wait too long. I remember when I lived here before, the bus was like true love, it always took a long time to come -"

Amosta said happily, and then helped Lawrence onto the empty bus.

"Shall we take the bus to the uh, wizarding government compound?"

After a long silence, Lawrence asked again,

"I thought there would be some, I mean, wizards using some more fantastic ways of getting around."

"Oh, I may need to transfer to the subway later. You are right, wizards do have some methods to get to their desired destination faster -"

Amosta said with a smile,

"But those methods are too 'stimulating' for you. I think, considering that I need you to stay clear-headed and in good physical condition today, I'd better not risk it, Muggle. I mean, The way ordinary people travel is safer for you.”

Lawrence took a deep breath, nodded and stopped talking.

The young master does not look like a reckless young man, he should be prepared for possible situations.

Lawrence convinced himself that it was the young master who asked for help after all, and he must help him no matter whether there was danger or not.

After the bus swayed for twenty minutes, they transferred to the subway.

Amosta's occasional attempts at Muggle transportation were not a particularly pleasant experience.

As the subway approaches the city one stop at a time, the number of young people commuting early in the subway gradually increases, until it’s almost a rush.

Not to mention Amosta, even Lawrence was a little uncomfortable with this situation.

"I thought where we were going was going to be the suburbs?"

Forty minutes later, Amosta and Lawrence squeezed out of the subway station and stood on the street in central London.

Looking around at the familiar buildings, Lawrence tried to smooth out the wrinkles on his suit and said slightly surprised.

"Actually, when the Ministry of Magic was first established, it was located in a less prosperous area——"

Amosta led Lawrence across the street and into the shabby alley where the red telephone booth at the entrance to the Ministry of Magic was located.

"But wizards obviously didn't expect that Muggle cities would expand so fast-"

Amosta, who had just walked into the alley, squinted his eyes and looked at the reporters holding cameras in front of the phone booth, waiting to line up to enter, and then took a step back outside.

"What's wrong, Amosta?"

This unusual behavior immediately made Lawrence nervous, and he asked quickly.

"To avoid unnecessary trouble——"

Amosta thought for a moment,

"It's best before you need to appear, otherwise others will discover your existence. Oh, of course, it's best not to be discovered by these reporters. They won't let me go easily."

Amosta said, then he pulled out his wand, and while the Muggles around him were not paying attention, he lightly tapped Lawrence on the shoulder, and then did the same to himself.

"Oh, this is me!"

Lawrence's eyes widened immediately, and he confirmed his guess from the glass display window next to him.

"We are invisible, Master, is this also magic?!"

"I said, just call me Amosta. Yes, this is magic. Invisibility is not difficult for wizards--"

Lawrence's eyes were darting around and he couldn't see where Amosta was after hiding, so Amosta could only hold the old butler's arm and lead him into the alley again.

"It's amazing!"

Although this was not the first time he had seen Amosta use magic, Lawrence still felt awe in his heart.

"Compared to wizards, we are too clumsy."

"That's not necessarily the case -"

Amosta waved his magic wand, and the sudden strong wind caused the reporters in the queue to stagger, while he and Lawrence took the opportunity to jump in line.

"Muggles can also do all kinds of incredible things using technology. You see, the elevator at the entrance to the Ministry of Magic borrowed Muggle ideas. Here we are."

Buzz!

After his vision went dark for a while, light reentered Lawrence's eyes. At the same time, he was aware of the intertwined hum of many people talking at the same time.

However, this is no longer important.

"Welcome to the world of magic, Lawrence——"

Looking at Lawrence who was shocked by the majesty and grandeur of the golden magic hall and the crowds of people in strange and weird costumes who were rubbing shoulders with each other in front of him, Amosta said with a smile. (End of chapter)
