Hogwarts Homecoming

Chapter 1289: Expected, unexpected!

Ron, who shivered a few times when he went down to the hallway, stopped and looked outside the hallway subconsciously.

The misty drizzle enveloped the gray world. In the far distance, the peaks of the mountains standing at the extreme end of the horizon were stained with white.

The whiteness was faintly spreading, just like the cold winter approaching quietly.

When eating in the usual way, the noisy auditorium suddenly lost more than half of the students and the auditorium became quiet, which made everyone who came to eat feel strange.

The repressed mood caused by this strangeness further made the auditorium quieter than before.

There were few people on the faculty and staff table.

Professor Trelawney, who liked to stay in her tower, was not there as usual. Hagrid also stayed in his hut from time to time to take care of the animals. Professor Larhansen, like Hagrid, preferred to stay in his wooden house to experience nature.

Except for the three of them, the rest of the faculty and staff would not miss the meal time in the past, but today, only Professor Dumbledore and Professor Bubbage were chatting at the faculty and staff table.

It is rare for the four deans to be absent collectively.

"Maybe they went to Hogsmeade for dinner--"

Faced with Ron's confusion, Lavender said fearlessly.

This is indeed possible. The professors are also ordinary wizards who need to socialize, relax and rest.

Ron nodded and ignored this issue. Although, he always felt a sense of inexplicable uneasiness in his heart.

Perhaps it was an illusion caused by the quiet auditorium.

When Ron sat down, he threw these few distracting thoughts out of his mind.

One advantage of having fewer people is that the sight will not be obstructed.

There were still some senior students sitting sparsely on the tables of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.

The tables of Gryffindor and Slytherin were surprisingly the same.

There were only Ron and Lavender on the Gryffindor side. On the Slytherin side, there were Malfoy and Parkinson.

As expected, Ron's eyes met with Malfoy and Parkinson's.

The distance between them was not enough for him to see the light flashing in Malfoy's eyes, but he could still feel the indifference in the gray eyes looking at him. The same was true for Parkinson.

"Hiss"

Lavender glanced at Malfoy and Parkinson and lowered her head.

"Their eyes are really scary, Ronnie. Isn't it?"

Ron's face was a little unnatural, and he immediately avoided his gaze, lowered his head and started eating.

Harry has always insisted that Malfoy must have been developed into a Death Eater by the mysterious man.

Although he has always believed that the mysterious man does not need teenage Death Eaters, he must admit that Malfoy's indifferent face just now is indeed a little scary.

The kitchen did not discount the richness of the meal because many little wizards came early today. Today's breakfast is still varied.

But Ron did not eat as much as before.

First, he had a cold and his appetite was reduced; second, according to the agreed plan, he would stay in the Great Hall today, unless Malfoy did something unusual. He had plenty of time to fill his stomach.

Ron broke open a piece of pumpkin pie and stuffed it into his mouth bit by bit, while secretly observing Malfoy and Parkinson with his peripheral vision, feeling uneasy.

Without Harry and Hermione around, he always felt that something was missing.

"I don't quite understand--"

Having been close for several months, Lavender could naturally see that her dear Ronnie was a little nervous

It was originally a rare date opportunity, but because of inexplicable things, Ronnie had no energy to pay attention to himself. Lavender bit her plump lips, her expression was slightly dissatisfied, and her tone was also full of resentment.

"What?"

Ron asked without turning his head.

"Harry and Hermione think that the last time Professor Blaine's office was invaded was Malfoy, right?"

Lavender asked.

"Anyway, that's what Harry thinks."

"But what does this have to do with you?"

Lavender asked melancholy.

"Oh, of course it has something to do with you!"

Ron answered subconsciously, and facing his girlfriend's inquiring eyes, Ron swallowed his saliva and lowered his voice,

"Think about it, Lavender, who would invade Professor Blaine's office? Only those who intend to harm Hogwarts would do so!"

Lavender blinked and waited for Ron to continue.

"If we can catch Malfoy's handle and find evidence that he attempted to invade Professor Blaine's office, we can get Malfoy out of Hogwarts!"

"So, what you really want to achieve is to get Malfoy expelled, not to protect Hogwarts?"

Lavender asked in an innocent tone.

Ron's tone choked, and then his brows rose.

This is really a good question.

"Does Harry have any substantial evidence to doubt Malfoy?"

Lavender continued to blink innocently and asked.

"For Harry. Oh, there's no need for any evidence, Lavender--"

Being questioned continuously, Ron was a little unhappy, and his tone was a little stiff.

"All the bad things that happened in Hogwarts are related to Malfoy, there's no doubt about that!"

"Weasley and his girlfriend really stayed, Draco--"

While Ron and Lavender were discussing Malfoy and Parkinson, the two at the Slytherin table were also having a similar conversation.

"I saw it, Pansy--"

Draco said lightly, no longer looking at the stupid Weasley and his ugly girlfriend who were gossiping.

"Do you think Potter left them here to monitor you?"

Pansy looked at Draco's profile, her eyes showing worry.

Draco snorted coldly and moved the corner of his mouth with contempt.

"It's obvious. No one knows Potter better than me. He has always regarded himself as the savior. I guess he probably has doubts about me for a long time."

"So what should we do now?"

Pansy didn't ask why Draco was so confident in his judgment, nor did she cast a hostile look at Ron. Instead, she looked at Professor Dumbledore, who was talking about something with Professor Bubbage at the staff table.

For her, Ron Weasley was not important anyway. What was more worrying was old man Dumbledore.

"Potter has undoubtedly made a fool again. If it was Granger, it would be a bit troublesome, but he left behind the even more stupid Weasley, and things became simpler-"

Simpler?

Pansy narrowed her sarcastic eyes, looking a little confused, but then she figured out Draco's plan.

She didn't question it.

Draco was right, it was easier this way.

Ten minutes later, Dumbledore, who had finally filled his stomach with delicious food, smiled and ended his conversation with Professor Bubbage. After glancing at the tables of Gryffindor and Slytherin, he stood up, smiled, and left the hall from the side door in front.

Almost at the moment when Dumbledore left the hall, Malfoy and Parkinson stood up in tacit understanding.

Ron, who had been eating breakfast absent-mindedly, immediately became nervous. He pretended to lower his head, but his eyes kept chasing the figures of Malfoy and Parkinson.

Ron thought Malfoy and Parkinson would return to the gloomy and cold basement of Slytherin.

This was also the reason why Hermione suggested that he stay in the Great Hall today when discussing the action plan with Harry and Hermione yesterday!

As long as he stayed in the Great Hall, Malfoy would not be able to hide from his eyes no matter where he went after he walked out of the basement, and he could use Harry's invisibility cloak to track them.

If Malfoy decided to act directly after breakfast, it would be even simpler.

He only needed to follow and show up at the critical moment. Only by witnessing it with his own eyes, Malfoy would have no excuse.

But——

Ron was a little confused when he saw Malfoy and Parkinson walking out of the hallway without realizing that it was drizzling outside.

What was going on?

In such bad weather, the little wizards wanted to stay in the warm lounge all day, but Malfoy and Parkinson were going to go out for a walk? !

Are they crazy? (End of this chapter)
