Hogwarts Homecoming

Chapter 1357: After the War, and the Life and Death of Amosta

Last night, the bright moon stained by blood finally returned to its brightness.

The wilderness illuminated by the pure moonlight actually felt a bit like summer.

However, Hogwarts was shrouded in the shadow cast by the Isle of Avalon, supported by three Optimus Pillars and the Whomping Willow, on the earth.

Even though he was in Hogsmeade, he could still clearly hear the roars of violent beasts coming one after another within the indigo barrier.

St. Mungo's therapists wearing dark green therapy uniforms walked through the streets and alleys of Hogsmeade, which were brightly lit from house to house. Everyone's face was anxious.

St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Injuries and Injuries can no longer accommodate so many injured people, so the Ministry of Magic can only requisition villagers' homes as treatment venues.

In the sky, teams of stern-looking strikers flew over the rooftops of residents on broomsticks. Any sign of disturbance would alert them.

The entire village was enveloped in an atmosphere of tension and sadness.

Ron hurried out of the Three Broomsticks pub with a large pile of food. Before he could take a step forward, a team of batters had already stopped in front of him with a hiss.

"What's your name, what do you do, where are you going!"

The leading beater looked coldly and looked at Ron with squinted eyes.

"I am Ron Weasley, the youngest son of Arthur Weasley. You have already questioned me when I came here just now-"

Ron quickly showed the bag containing bread and butterbeer to the patrol team, and nervously explained,

"I'm going to the Pig's Head Bar to deliver food. A lot of people are there. They haven't eaten all day."

"Pig's Head Bar?"

The leader's attacker's eyes were filled with suspicion.

"That's weird. There's no food there?"

“There are so many people!”

Ron emphasized again,

"The owner of the Hog's Head doesn't have that much food in his cellar."

The striker squinted and took a closer look at Ron's red hair and the freckles on his nose, and then his expression softened.

"Go ahead. Try not to go out."

After saying that, the strikers raised their broomsticks and flew into the sky to continue patrolling.

Ron finally breathed a sigh of relief and took steps.

Along the central avenue of Hogsmeade, Ron jogged all the way to the Hog's Head pub.

When passing the village square, he paused and glanced at the bright square illuminated by torches.

The square was filled with stretchers covered with green cloth.

Cedric was sitting cross-legged in front of a stretcher, holding the cold hand of the girl on the stretcher, his face expressionless.

Draco Malfoy was sitting a few stretchers away from Cedric, sitting in a similar position. However, he did not look at the people on the stretcher, but looked far away in the direction of Hogwarts, pale. Hatred etched on his face.

There were still some living people accompanying their relatives, but their slight sobs were like a heavy hammer hammering into his heart, suffocating Ron.

Ron sniffed, looked away, and hurried to the Pig's Head Bar with a dull head.

When they entered the alley where the Pig's Head Bar was located, two more Aurors popped up from an inconspicuous corner. After carefully examining the pile of food in Ron's arms, they watched him push away the Pig's Head Bar. door.

The light in the dirty bar was dim, and there was a turbid smell in the air.

But what's even more unbearable is the oppressive atmosphere here.

There were people sitting on every stool, and even every staircase leading to the room on the second floor was full of people.

Every face under the dim oil lamp was written with depression and pain.

Only the girl in the portrait on the wall was looking at everyone tenderly.

Hermione sat in front of the bar, still sobbing softly. Luna stood beside her and hugged Hermione's shoulders, but her own silver eyes were also extremely dim.

Harry was sitting on the first step of the stairs to the second floor. He leaned against the side wall, the corners of his eyes twitching from time to time, his fists clenched on his knees, and he looked like he was suffering from unusual pain.

Ginny was leaning on Harry's shoulder, her brown eyes also red and swollen.

Looking at this scene again, Ron still felt a bit dazzling, so he withdrew his gaze.

Several heads of Hogwarts were sitting around a round table, and Professor McGonagall was sniffing from time to time. Professor Snape's face was much paler than usual, and his dark pupils had a vague light.

Ron belatedly realized that almost everyone he knew was packed into the bar.

Fleur was sitting on a table by the window, her head buried in her arms. Madame Maxime was also hugging her, and Hagrid, who was sitting opposite them, looked at them and sighed.

"No trouble, Ron?"

Many people raised their eyes and glanced at Ron before lowering their heads. Mr. Weasley left his twin sons, who were always smiling but now had a sullen face, and asked with concern in a hoarse voice.

Ron had no desire to speak. He stuffed all the food into his father's arms, and then returned to the table near the door, his bench.

Lavender immediately leaned his head over and rubbed his shoulder twice with his face, but Ron didn't react at all. He just put his unaffected hand into his pocket and rubbed the diamond he was used to carrying. Coins around you.

"Maybe someone wants something to eat?"

Mr. Weasley forced a smile and looked around.

No one responded.

After sighing, Mr. Weasley brought the food to the bar, picked a sandwich from it and handed it to Tonks, whose hair had turned gray. The corners of his mouth twitched as a smile,

"Eat something, Tonks, you are not alone now--"

Remus, with a dazed look, a livid face, and clenched fists embedded in his flesh, finally came back to his senses. He nodded to Mr. Weasley, took the sandwich from his hand, broke off a small piece and handed it to Tonks' lips, his voice hoarse as if he had not touched water for a few days,

"Come"

Some tenderness surged in the eyes filled with sadness, Tonks nodded, opened her mouth and accepted the food.

There was a sudden commotion outside the house, and Sirius's irritable voice came in.

In tacit understanding, everyone in the room looked at the door in unison, and even the door of a guest room on the second floor was opened.

Professor Lahansen supported Vitia and walked out.

As if she had a serious illness, Vitia's face was pale and yellow, and her hair, which used to be green and silky, was now a sickly yellow. She seemed to be exhausted.

She held the fence on the second floor and still looked out the door expectantly.

Crash!

The door was pushed open, and Sirius appeared in front of everyone.

"How is it?"

Unexpectedly, it was Severus who stood up first to ask. He looked at his former enemy with no disgust in his eyes, only expectation.

From Sirius's expression, people have guessed the answer, but they are still looking at him, hoping for a one in ten thousand chance.

"Not here--"

Although he knew that his answer would disappoint many people, Sirius still shook his head firmly,

"I went to the orphanage where Amos grew up. The Muggles there took me to the grave of the deceased Muggle who raised him."

Sadness surged, and Hermione's sobbing became louder, and her eyes were almost swollen into a slit.

Professor McGonagall also let out a cry of grief, and Professor Flitwick quickly jumped on the stool to comfort her.

Is Amos still alive?

Although they were reluctant, this question came to everyone in the bar.

When he fell from the sky, many people saw it, and his clothes were soaked with blood.

Dumbledore also told them that Amos paid a heavy price to break through the defense of the gray fog.

He was seriously injured. In that case, he should have received treatment immediately, but why did Amosta Apparate and leave at that time?

Or did he want to leave this world in a dignified way?

Or, knowing that he would definitely die, he wanted to leave a glimmer of hope for people.

Because if you have hope, you will not be so sad?
