Hogwarts Homecoming

Chapter 984: Targeting oneself

After saying his guess, Lucius carefully looked at Amosta Braine's expression.

The reason why the Dark Lord attacked Azkaban, anyone who was not an incurable fool could figure it out, basically his most loyal and elite Death Eaters were imprisoned in that prison!

And if the Dark Lord successfully found a channel to Azkaban and rescued those most evil Death Eaters, the impact would be extremely far-reaching.

Needless to say, the Ministry of Magic would lose face, and the British magic world would immediately fall into turmoil. It can even be said that this is equivalent to the Dark Lord announcing his return to the world and blowing the horn of charge.

In the previous expectation, Amosta Braine would be furious after hearing this news. At least he would feel nervous.

Amosta Braine might not care about the authority of the Ministry of Magic being trampled on, but he certainly didn't want to see the order of the magic world become a mess.

But the facts were completely different from what he expected. Amosta Braine did not show any sign of nervousness at all. He just leaned on the sofa calmly and twirled his two thumbs rhythmically.

"Reasonable speculation--"

Amosta nodded slightly, confirming Lucius's statement.

"You are not going to stop it?"

Amosta's reaction caught Lucius off guard. He asked in astonishment, but then, Amosta Braine's bottomless gaze made Lucius tremble in his heart, and he lowered his head subconsciously.

"Sorry, Mr. Braine, I shouldn't have overstepped my boundaries."

"It's okay, Lucius, I'm not the Dark Lord, who wants to take people's lives at will."

Amosta's tone was calm,

"But you have to understand that knowing too much is not a good thing for your current identity."

Lucius nodded with a gray face.

Three months ago, he was still the patriarch of the glorious Malfoy family, a business giant with a great reputation in the British and even European magic circles. But after the Dark Lord was resurrected, he even had to be a spy to barely survive.

The Dark Lord has never been a generous wizard. Lucius would not be naive to think that he would just let it go after destroying the Dark Lord's treasure. The reason why the Dark Lord kept his life was because he was still useful, especially when he had not yet gathered his team.

If all the imprisoned Death Eaters in Azkaban were rescued, the Dark Lord would have more options. At that time, the Dark Lord would take his family's lives directly, or torture them to please himself and then let the Malfoy family die. That was a hard thing to say.

Anyway, it was going to end.

The general information had been explained. Lucius looked at Brian anxiously, not knowing whether he was satisfied with the information he provided. Moreover, Brian would also give him some tasks. I hope they were not those tasks that would lead to his own death.

Digesting the information brought by Lucius, the most valuable one is undoubtedly Voldemort's attitude towards his entry into Salazar Slaterlin's vault.

Voldemort showed his due concern, but in addition, the nervousness he showed undoubtedly further proved his and Dumbledore's guess.

"Voldemort is in Gringotts"

Amosta suddenly asked, but he stopped talking halfway, thought for a while, and then asked,

"Back then. I mean, when Voldemort was active last time, who were his most trusted Death Eaters besides you, Lucius?"

The most trusted Death Eater?

If it was more than a decade ago, Lucius would definitely say proudly that he was the most trusted person of the Dark Lord. Of course, he would also reluctantly name a few colleagues who were as favored as him, but now, Lucius just wanted to smile bitterly.

"According to my observation, Mr. Braine, the Dark Lord doesn't trust anyone, Mr. Braine--"

Lucius's expression was bitter, and his voice was slightly hoarse,

"He only trusts himself, of course. If you insist on an answer, then I think--"

Lucius took a deep breath and continued

"He trusts Severus, the Lestranges, the Carrows, and Evan Rosier. In short, it's probably those imprisoned in Azkaban."

"Um--"

Amosta nodded and fell silent again.

If Voldemort really entrusted his other Horcrux to a Death Eater other than Lucius, and that Death Eater put Voldemort's Horcrux into the vault of Gringotts, then unless he gets an accurate answer, he will have to check these vaults one by one.

If he really did this, first of all, not to mention that it would cause great trouble to old Bana, and secondly, if Voldemort did it so ostentatiously, as long as he was not a fool, he would definitely expect that he and Dumbledore had already known about his making of Horcruxes, which would be very unfavorable for finding out the next few Horcruxes.

But this must be done, but it requires a reasonable excuse.

Even if Voldemort knew that he had forced the vault open, he would not think that it was for his Horcruxes.

"There is something I need your assistance with, Lucius--"

Here it comes!

When the long silence made Lucius flustered, Amosta finally spoke, and when he heard this, Lucius' heart trembled, but he felt relieved.

Since Brian was willing to order him to do things, this at least shows two things. First, in Brian's eyes, he has value. Second, this at least proves that Brian has a certain degree of trust in him.

It's a bit sad to say that the patriarch of the Malfoy family is pleased that he has value to be used, but the situation in the magic world is so cruel now.

When the Dark Lord returns to the magic world and decides to ignite the war again, thousands of wizards will be victims of the war, and only a few wizards can become chess players.

And although Brian's attitude towards him is not so polite, Lucius can feel that Brian does not treat him as a slave.

"It's my honor to serve you, Mr. Brian--"

Lucius was about to stand up, but Amosta raised his hand slightly and immediately exerted a tyrannical force to press Lucius on the sofa.

"There is one thing--"

Amostas put down his raised hand and said calmly,

"In view of the fact that the position of professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts has been vacant for several months, Fudge has recommended his right-hand man, Dolores Umbridge, to Headmaster Dumbledore to teach this course at Hogwarts--"

Fudge asked Umbridge to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts?

Lucius was stunned at first, then his eyes twitched, and he blurted out,

"You mean, the Ministry of Magic is trying to interfere with Hogwarts?"

"Isn't this obvious?"

Amostas smiled.

"What do you want me to do?"

Lucius became cautious, and he looked at Amosita carefully.

"If you want me to use the influence of the Malfoy family to interfere with Fudge's decision, this may not be easy. Moreover, if the Dark Lord knew about this, he would be happy to see the Ministry of Magic and you in conflict."

"Yes, Voldemort would definitely be happy to see this situation, so--"

Amosita smiled meaningfully,

"I want you to take the initiative to report this to Voldemort and convince him to help Cornelius Fudge. He will definitely agree to help this matter."

As Amosita told the story, Lucius's confused face gradually became suspicious.

Is Brian crazy? Is he pushing himself to death? !

"Why do you want me to do this, Mr. Brian?"

Finally, Lucius couldn't help asking,

"You must know that if I do this and cooperate with the Ministry of Magic to force Hogwarts, then Hogwarts will be finished, and you can't hold on!"
