Hogwarts: I, Tom, am really not Voldemort!
#110 - Chapter 110 Cave
“Alastor, slow down. You said you found it?”
Dumbledore looked at Moody, who was approaching him quickly, and hurriedly asked.
“Yes, Albus, I found the cave.”
Moody nodded to Dumbledore.
“Let’s talk in detail somewhere else.”
With that, Dumbledore led Moody away.
Tom, who was about to return to the common room, suddenly stopped in his tracks because he caught a key word in Moody's words.
“Cave... it can't be the one I'm thinking of, right...”
This word might not mean much to others, but for Tom, it can be said to have a special trigger.
“No way, no way. Dumbledore hasn't given up yet? So, he and Grindelwald have been running out every day for the past few days to find Horcruxes, and they even called Moody along?”
“Looking at them now, Moody has obviously found the cave with the fake locket.”
“But does he have the ability to deal with the defenses left by Voldemort?”
“Obviously not, that's why he's back to find Dumbledore.”
Tom looked at their departing figures, and his whole person became excited.
“Professor Dumbledore, since you want to find Horcruxes, then I, Tom Riddle, will definitely help out.”
.......
“Alastor, are you sure it's here?”
Standing on the steep cliff, listening to the sound of waves hitting the black rocks, Dumbledore confirmed with Moody again.
“According to your description, Albus, I searched for a long time. This should be the place. But we have to enter from the crack under the cliff first.”
After speaking, Moody Apparated Dumbledore to the rocks below, and then led him slowly into the barely noticeable crevice that was only a little over a meter wide.
“This place is really hard to find. I've been living in the open for a long time to find it, Albus. Is there really something important related to Voldemort here?”
Moody led Dumbledore forward, complaining in a low voice.
“Alastor, I don't know either.”
Dumbledore shook his head after hearing Moody's words, indicating uncertainty.
After confirming the Horcruxes with Tom, Dumbledore began his journey to find them. Not sure of the truth in Tom's words, he decided to proceed at his own pace.
However, the process of finding the Horcruxes was far more difficult than he imagined. Moreover, at the Gaunt Shack, he was originally full of confidence that he could find a Horcrux, but he came up empty. Therefore, to be honest, Dumbledore didn't know what the final result of this cave trip would be.
Moody raised his wand to illuminate the entire cave and looked at Dumbledore.
“We're here, Albus. It's up to you now.”
After coming here last time, Moody searched the cave for a long time, but found nothing. Helpless, he had to return to Hogwarts to find Dumbledore.
At this time, Dumbledore showed a focused expression, as if ignoring Moody. He wandered around the cave slowly, stroking the rock walls with his hands, and chanting spells from time to time.
After a long time, Dumbledore stopped in front of a rock wall, a hint of joy on his face.
Seeing this, Moody quickly asked, “Albus, what's wrong? What did you find?”
“Alastor, I found it. Someone used magic to hide the entrance.”
Dumbledore replied to Moody, carefully studying the magic on it.
“Is it Voldemort?”
“Besides him, I don't think there should be anyone else. However, I think we need to pay a price to enter.”
Soon, Dumbledore slowly stood up.
“Albus, what price?” Moody asked.
“If I'm not mistaken, it's blood.” Dumbledore's words revealed a hint of disdain.
“Blood?” Moody asked back.
“That's right, Alastor. Although it's low-level, it's indeed useful. I think Voldemort's purpose in doing this is to use this trap to weaken his opponents.”
With that, Dumbledore conjured a short knife and rolled up his sleeves.
But before Dumbledore could make a move, Moody snatched the short knife from Dumbledore's hand and directly slashed it across his arm, and blood gushed out immediately.
Seeing this, Dumbledore, knowing Moody's personality, didn't say much. He directly chanted a spell.
With Dumbledore's spell, blood sprinkled on the rock wall, an arch appeared, and after a moment, the rock disappeared, revealing a dark doorway.
After using a spell to heal Moody's wound, the two entered the doorway. What came into view was a black lake, but...
Blue Fiendfyre was burning. The originally dark cave had turned into a ghostly blue world. Countless Inferi crawled out of the lake, but they became the best fuel, burning to ashes under the burning of the Fiendfyre.
And two people who shouldn't have been here were having a great time playing with fire.
“Albus, that's that evil Slytherin brat.”
Moody, who had met someone once and had a very unpleasant experience, recognized Tom's figure first in the light of the fire.
As for the old man next to Tom, sorry, Moody thought for a long time, but couldn't figure out who it was.
“Professor, why are you only here now? Professor Grindelwald and I have been waiting for you here for a long time. By the way, I found Regulus Black. Give him to Sirius, he will be very happy.”
Tom also noticed Dumbledore and Moody who came in at this time, and shouted happily, pointing to an Inferius that could no longer move at his feet.
Grindelwald, who had returned to his original appearance at this time, also looked at Dumbledore, with a kind of accusation in his eyes that you didn't even bring me along, which made Dumbledore feel guilty and look away.
Just as the young couple were exchanging glances, Moody exclaimed and instinctively made a fighting move: “Grindelwald? Albus, is it the Grindelwald I'm thinking of? Shouldn't he be in Nurmengard? Why is he here?”
Hearing Moody's words, Dumbledore didn't know how to explain for a while, so he could only bite the bullet and say to Moody: “Alastor, we'll talk about these things later. Let's deal with these Inferi first.”
With that, Dumbledore left Moody behind and joined Grindelwald and Tom's team.
For so many Inferi, anyone else might have died here with regret, but unfortunately, they are now facing the strongest and most playful people in the magical world. No matter how many there are, they will be turned to ashes on the spot.
Voldemort probably never thought that he would be facing such a lineup when he arranged this place back then.
And Moody was even more frightened. Dumbledore and Grindelwald were fine, but the evil Slytherin brat showed strength that was not inferior to the two of them at all.
At that moment, Moody felt that he had lived his life in vain.
