A month passed in a blink of an eye, and Harry was naturally blamed for the 'mysterious disappearance of glass incident' in the reptile house. After all, there had been too many strange things happening around him since he was a child.
In fact, it can't be said that it's strange, it was originally Harry's fault.
For this reason, the Dursleys gave Harry the harshest punishment, banning him from eating bacon for a week, depriving him of the right to drink soda, and only allowing him to eat fish and chips.
Harry was crying and looking downcast.
In fact, fish and chips are not really that bad. They were quite delicious the first time I ate them.
but.
Penny will serve you this dish whenever you are too lazy to cook, and over time you will find it delicious.
The cod has been frozen for too long and has no texture at all. Combined with the dry French fries, this is definitely an unpalatable food.
According to Harry's recollection, he didn't feel happy that week.
One day in July.
Harry was helping Petunia clean up.
"Dursley, a letter from your family."
The postman's voice came outside the door, and then the mailbox clicked. The letters were not put into the mailbox at all, but were scattered on the doormat at the door.
Vernon was lying on the sofa reading the newspaper, and happened to see Dudley coming out of the shower after his morning exercise.
"Dudley, go get the letter."
"Okay." He walked to the door and took out the letter, three copies in total.
One is a postcard from Aunt Maggie, who went on a trip abroad. One is a bill, which seems to be an electricity bill. The other is addressed to Harry Potter.
The handwriting was written in emerald green ink. There was no stamp. On the other side of the envelope, there was a wax seal, a shield coat of arms, and a capital "H" surrounded by a lion, an eagle, a badger and a stripe.
snake.
'What is supposed to come will come.'
Dudley checked the mailbox carefully and made sure that his letter was not there. He felt an inexplicable loss in his heart.
He handed the bill and postcard to Vernon.
"Oh, dear, Maggie's sick," Vernon said to Petunia. "She ate some bad snails."
Then he opened the envelope with the bill and snorted in disgust. No one likes bills. Vernon looked at the last letter in Dudley's hand.
"Dudley, is that your letter? What a strange material, parchment? Who still uses this thing nowadays?"
"This is Harry's." Dudley waved the recipient column in front of Vernon.
As soon as these words came out, the house suddenly became extremely quiet, and you could hear a pin drop.
Vernon, Petunia and Harry all looked at Dudley, or rather the letter in his hand.
'Who will send Harry a letter?'
Not only the Dursleys were confused by this question, but even Harry was confused.
'Yes, who will send me a letter?'
Vernon snatched the letter from Dudley, opened it with one hand and read it.
Harry didn't mind, he just wanted to know what was written inside, so he followed it.
Vernon only read the first line, and his face suddenly turned from red to blue faster than a traffic light. In a few seconds, his face turned as gray as gray cereal.
"Pepe. Penny, it's them!"
Just a few words seemed to use up all my strength.
Before Harry could read it clearly, the letter was in Petunia's hands again. Similarly, she only read the first line, then covered her forehead and looked like she was about to faint, then grabbed her throat and choked.
For a moment, it felt like I was about to take a breath away.
Harry was even more curious now. He had never seen his aunt with such an expression.
"Aunt Petunia, what's written on it?"
Harry came over curiously, but Petunia put the letter away.
"This is not something a child should know."
Dudley could tell that Petunia was trying to control her emotions and not collapse.
"Vernon and I have something to talk about. You two should go to the room on the second floor first."
"Okay, Auntie."
Harry behaved like a good boy.
"Brother D, do you know what happened?" Harry asked Dudley curiously as soon as he entered the room.
Perhaps because he had been with Dudley for a long time, Harry was much more mature than he appeared.
He knew that instead of asking Petunia and Vernon, he would be better off asking his older cousin.
Dudley touched Harry's head, and his tone was like saying goodbye: "Harry, maybe you can't go to the same middle school as me."
"Why?!" Harry raised his voice several times, then he realized something and asked eagerly: "Is it because of that letter?"
"Vernon." Aunt Petunia said in a trembling voice outside the door, "What should we do? Vernon? Do we want to reply to the letter? Tell them that we don't want him. It took a lot of effort to treat him as our own child."
"Penny, I will never let them take anyone away. When we brought him in, didn't we swear to completely cut off all ties with those things?"
"."
Dudley heard Petunia's sobs and Vernon's angry yells.
He had known for a long time that this day was coming, and thought that his parents had already prepared for it. However, when it actually came, his parents' reaction was greater than expected.
Because of a letter, the Dursley family was completely thrown into chaos.
Even the ignorant Harry knew that something big was about to happen, and his life might change as a result.
Petunia and Vernon ended up burning the letter, intending to ignore it, thinking that this would prevent what happened.
Dudley knew that this was just the beginning.
Early the next morning, the alarm clock rang at six o'clock on time.
The day's plan begins in the morning. Dudley climbed out of bed and started his daily exercise.
First, do a simple warm-up to relax your body.
Perform one-handed push-ups, dumbbells, and tensioners one by one.
When Dudley was about to finish his morning exercise, the postman arrived on time.
"Dursley, a letter from your family."
The same emerald green ink as before, another letter to Harry, but this time it was not one letter, but three.
Vernon came over after hearing the news and tore the three letters into pieces in front of Harry.
Harry was expressionless and showed no reaction at all. He knew that this letter would separate him from Dudley, and he wanted to go to Smelting School with Dudley.
On this day Vernon nailed the mailbox shut.
Six letters on the third day
Twelve letters on the fourth day.
Starting from the second day, the number doubled every other day.
Until Sunday.
"There won't be a postman on Sunday, and there won't be that damn letter." Vernon said happily.
As soon as he finished speaking, something fell from the kitchen chimney and hit him hard on the back of the head. Then countless letters shot out of the fireplace like bullets, instantly filling the whole room.
Today it was no longer the postman who came to deliver the letter, but the owls, and there were owls everywhere outside the Dursleys' courtyard.
Looking at the letters piled up all over the room, Dudley felt no emotion at all.
'It seems that I am destined to miss Hogwarts.'
Following Vernon's instructions, Dudley threw piles of letters into the burning fireplace.
In a daze, the corner of Dudley's eye glanced at a certain letter, and his heart suddenly jumped for no reason. Dudley quickly reached through the fireplace to take out the letter. Unfortunately, because the fire was too bright, by the time Dudley rescued it,
Most of the letter had been burned, especially the recipient column in the upper left corner. Dudley could vaguely see that the name did not start with Harry's H, but a big D.
