Hogwarts: Storm Chaser

Chapter 6: A Trip to Diagon Alley

The two of them came to the back of the Leaky Cauldron, which was a small patio surrounded by walls and a trash can.

Aberforth stood in front of a wall, tapping with his wand.

"Remember, starting from the trash can, count three pieces upward, and then count two pieces horizontally. Don't knock the wrong one, otherwise I can't guarantee what will happen."

"Yeah, remember, my memory has always been good."

During the conversation, a small hole appeared in the brick wall, and then slowly formed a wide archway, leading to a winding cobblestone street with no end in sight.

"Welcome, although this is not your first time here."

"Indeed, but I still want to express my gratitude to you."

The young and old looked at each other and smiled, striding forward. The archway behind them gradually narrowed, and finally turned back into its original solid wall.

Coming out of Diagon Alley, the closest store to them is Partridge's Crucible Shop.

The two walked over, and then, as if he suddenly remembered something, Ralph said to Aberforth:

"Stop paying for me, I'll be angry."

"Hahaha, okay, okay, have you brought enough money? Do you want to go to Gringotts to get some money?" Aberforth looked at his "I'm so fierce" look and laughed wildly, annoying the people around him for a moment.

They all looked over.

Ralph's face turned red, and he pulled Aberforth towards the store quickly and said, "I've brought enough, I must have brought enough." He also took out his deformed lizard skin wallet as a gesture.

Just after they entered the store, a series of conversations broke out in the sparse crowd outside.

"Is that Ralph Alvey?"

"The one next to Aberforth? That should be it."

"Oh my God! Poor little Alvy is coming to Diagon Alley."

Just when Ralph was at a loss when facing these cauldrons, the news of his arrival in Diagon Alley had spread to every shop.

There are many types of crucibles in the store, including pewter crucibles, brass crucibles, copper crucibles, silver crucibles, gold crucibles, automatic stirring crucibles and foldable crucibles. Ralph was dazzled by the sight and didn't know what to buy for a while.

What a good thing, I couldn't help but turn to Aberforth for help.

"Made of pewter, standard size 2." Aberforth said.

"How do you know?" Ralph asked.

"He also said that he has a good memory. Wasn't it written clearly on the admission notice?" Aberforth replied disdainfully.

"Okay." Ralph took out the attachment to the notice, and it was indeed true.

Aberforth snorted twice.

"Hello, sir, a pewter crucible, standard size No. 2. Pack it up and send it here." Ralph said to the shopkeeper and wrote him an address.

"Okay, little wizard." The shopkeeper took the note and looked up at Ralph, "Are you Mr. Alvey?"

"Yes, just call me Ralph." Ralph responded politely.

"What a good boy. Let's do this. I'll give you this crucible. I won't charge you any money."

"How can this work, sir? It's not easy to make money."

Under Ralph's strong insistence, the store owner could only agree to sell the crucible at cost price and accept Ralph's consignment fee.

Until Ralph left the shop, the shopkeeper was still murmuring, "What a good boy! When I go back tonight, my wife will probably be nicer to me."

His eyes were full of hope.

Walking out of the shop, Ralph looked at Aberforth, accusing him of his irresponsible behavior with his eyes.

"What's wrong? Is there something on my face?" Aberforth touched his face doubtfully, without any of the joking expression he had in the shop just now.

"I was so embarrassed just now, do you know, oh my God! What went wrong!" Ralph lamented.

Next, under the gaze of an increasing number of passers-by, Ralph enjoyed the "poor child" discount and successively bought a set of glass or crystal vials, a telescope and a

I bought textbooks I didn’t have at home at Flourish and Blotts Bookstore;

I ordered three sets of plain work robes (black), a plain pointed hat (black) for day use, a pair of protective gloves (made of dragon skin or similar materials) and a winter cloak (made of fire dragon skin or similar materials).

Black, silver buckle);

All packed up for owl delivery back.

On the way, I bought two ice creams at the Florin Fusco ice cream shop, and specially ordered one for Aberforth.

Finally, the two stumbled to Ollivander's Wand Shop.

This is a small and shabby shop. The gold sign on the door has peeled off, and it reads: "Ollivanders: Making exquisite wands since 382 BC."

In the shop window, a solitary wand sat on a faded purple cushion.

Carefully opening the door that smelled of antiques, they walked in.

Its shop was small, with nothing else but a bench in the corner. Thousands of narrow cardboard boxes containing wands were stacked from floor to ceiling, and a thin layer of dust settled everywhere.

A tinkling bell came from somewhere behind the store.

Aberforth sat on a bench nearby and waited.

Ralph looked at the crowded environment around him and didn't like it a bit.

"Good morning." A soft voice said, pulling Ralph back. "It seems that you are not very satisfied with me."

"Good morning, you are too crowded, I don't like it very much." Ralph answered honestly.

"Okay. Are you the little wizard enrolling this year?" Mr. Ollivander looked at Ralph, his big, light-colored eyes like two bright moons in the dark shop.

"Yes, I'm Ralph Alvey, just call me Ralph."

"Ralph? So you are Ralph."

Ralph glanced melancholy at Aberforth beside him.

"Aberforth! Aberforth Dumbledore! It's so nice to see you again... Mahogany, dragon's nerve, 14 and 1/2 inches long, right?

?”

Noticing Aberforth beside him, Mr. Ollivander said happily.

"Yes, Garrick, your memory is as good as ever." As he said this, Aberforth glanced at Ralph, as if to say, look at you, you have such a good memory.

Ralph shrugged.

"Okay, Ralph, come on. Let me take a look." Mr. Ollivander took out a long tape measure with silver graduations from his pocket. "Which hand should you use?"

"Hmm? Right hand," said Ralph.

"Put your arms up. Yes, that's it, good boy."

He measured Ralph's measurements from shoulders to fingertips, from wrists to elbows, from shoulders to the ground, from knees to armpits, and finally the circumference of his head, and of course the distance between his nostrils, but these were all measured automatically by the tape measure.

.

Mr. Ollivander was promoting his wand concept while walking through the shelves, selecting some long boxes and moving them down.

"Okay, let's try this one first, Ralph." He said, and the tape measure fell to the ground and rolled into a ball. "Spruce wood, phoenix feather, 11 inches, very hard, try swinging it."

Ralph took the wand and was about to wave it when a flower appeared from the tip of the wand, and then the wand flew out.

Mr. Ollivander's face was a mixture of joy and surprise, and he immediately picked up the wand:

"It doesn't suit you, try this one, Yew, Dragon's Nerve, 10 inches."

This time it was different. A soft, vibrant light appeared on the tip of the staff, and then it flew away again.
