Hogwarts: This Dark Lord is so evil
#10 - Tom's Collection
Tom's screaming stopped, and he stared intently at the wardrobe, his black eyes flickering with excitement again.
Clearly, Dumbledore's move had indeed shocked him.
Lee Jordan also focused his gaze on the wardrobe.
Because he knew that if there wasn't a special reason, Dumbledore wouldn't resort to such drastic measures, even when demonstrating his magic.
As it turned out, that was indeed the case.
Dumbledore said calmly, "I think it seems there's something about to come out of your wardrobe."
Sure enough, a creaking sound immediately came from inside the wardrobe, and Tom suddenly looked a little scared.
"Open the door," Dumbledore said, brooking no argument.
Tom hesitated for a moment, but eventually walked over and opened the wardrobe door.
On the top shelf of the wardrobe, a paper box sat on a pile of old clothes.
"Take it out," Dumbledore said.
Tom looked flustered at these words, and his hands even trembled a little as he took out the box.
"Is there something in the box that you shouldn't possess?" Dumbledore asked.
Tom lowered his head, his lips pressed tightly together, his hands hesitatingly placed on the lid of the box.
Dumbledore noticed his gaze flicking towards Lee Jordan, who had been silent the whole time, seemingly reluctant to open the box in front of him.
"Tom?" Dumbledore prompted again.
"Yes, I suppose so, sir," he finally said stiffly, slowly opening the box and tipping it onto the bed.
It was a pile of miscellaneous, ordinary trinkets, including a yo-yo, a silver thimble, and a tarnished harmonica.
Once the box was emptied, they stopped trembling and lay quietly on the thin bed sheet.
"You will return them to their respective owners and apologize," Dumbledore said calmly, putting his wand back into his jacket.
"I will know whether you have done so or not. I must also warn you that theft is not tolerated at Hogwarts."
Tom glanced at Lee Jordan, who was wearing a faint smile, and gripped the box lid tightly, his face full of embarrassment.
He would rather be confined to a dark room for a month straight than give that bastard Lee Jordan another chance to laugh at him!
But now…
Finally, he responded in a voice that Dumbledore could barely hear, "Yes, sir…"
"At Hogwarts," Dumbledore continued, "we not only teach you to use magic, but also teach you how to control it."
"You have been, inadvertently… I'm sure, using magic in a way that is neither taught at our school nor tolerated by us."
"You are not the first, nor will you be the last, to lose control of magic in your hands. But you should know that Hogwarts expels students, and the Ministry of Magic… yes, there is such a department."
"It punishes those who break the law more severely. All new wizards entering our world must accept this and abide by our laws."
"Yes, sir," Tom replied, then suddenly asked, "But why are you only talking to me? I'm not the only one using magic here."
As he spoke, he looked towards Lee Jordan, who had been watching the show for a long time.
"That's because Jordan has never made those innocent people the objects of his spells…"
Dumbledore's gaze on Tom also sharpened, "I am very well aware of your past actions, Tom. Especially what you did to Amy and Dennis in that cave…"
Tom's face was pale, and his lips moved silently, but he didn't say anything, after all, what Dumbledore said was the truth.
Lee Jordan had indeed never used any magic on the other ordinary people in the orphanage like he had…
Because he thought that kind of behavior was childish, boring… Well, he must think I'm childish now too! Boring!
Remembering Lee Jordan's mocking gaze, Tom once again felt a sense of humiliation in his heart.
He had clearly made up his mind not to give that bastard another chance to mock him…
Dumbledore looked at Lee Jordan and asked gently, "Jordan, would you be willing to help me keep an eye on Tom?"
"Of course, Professor. In fact, he has already started to change. These things might just be things he hasn't had time to return yet."
Lee Jordan took the box from Tom's hands and put the things back in.
"I will return these things to their owners with him."
No error, one first, one hair, one inside, one content, one at, one look!
Tom looked up at Lee Jordan with some surprise, his expression inexplicable.
"I'm very relieved to have you watching, Jordan…" Dumbledore said, then looked at Tom again. "Tom, I'm very glad that you have indeed made many changes recently, and I hope you can continue like this and not repeat your mistakes. Magic is amazing, but it is also extremely easy to lose control of… I don't want it to lose control in your hands again."
Tom nodded expressionlessly, "I understand, sir."
Lee Jordan put the box aside and then asked, "Do you need tuition to go to Hogwarts? As you can see, Tom and I are penniless…"
Hearing Lee Jordan ask the key question, Tom couldn't care less about his discomfort at this time, and also looked at Dumbledore with a concerned gaze.
"Oh, that's easy to solve…" Dumbledore took out two leather pouches from his pocket, "Hogwarts has established a fund to help needy students who need to buy books and robes. You'll need to buy some second-hand spellbooks and such, but…"
"Where do you buy spellbooks?" Riddle interrupted him, taking a heavy pouch without thanking Dumbledore, and then took out a large gold Galleon, examining it carefully.
Now, Tom was more eager than ever to become stronger! And buying spellbooks and then learning magic was the easiest way!
"In Diagon Alley, I can take you to buy everything you need…"
"You're going with us?" Tom asked.
"Of course, if you're willing."
"No, I…" Tom saw that Lee Jordan didn't stop him before continuing, "We don't need you, we can do it ourselves, you just need to tell us the address of that… Diagon Alley."
Tom couldn't wait for Dumbledore to leave immediately, why would he want Dumbledore to go shopping with him?
Dumbledore didn't insist, but gave Lee Jordan and Tom the envelopes containing their acceptance letters and shopping lists respectively.
After telling them in detail the route to the Leaky Cauldron and other precautions, Dumbledore got up and left.
After Dumbledore left for a while, Tom weighed the leather pouch in his hand and couldn't help but ask, "When are you planning to go to that… Diagon Alley to buy things?"
Lee Jordan picked up the box on the bed, a smile appearing on his face, "Of course, after returning your little trinkets to their owners."
Hearing this, Tom's pale face flushed red again…
