#234 - Running for governor?
The morning's tranquility was shattered by a piercing scream from Salma Hayek, who clung tightly to Aaron Anderson.
Aaron, catching his breath, was about to roll off when he heard Salma Hayek's somewhat hoarse voice say, "Um, Aaron, don't get off yet!"
Aaron chuckled. "It's getting late. Aren't you going to get up?"
Salma Hayek kissed Aaron on the lips. "Just a little longer. Are you hungry?"
"Not really, let's just lie here for a bit," Aaron exhaled, lying on the woman's sexy body, feeling her fullness.
After a while, Aaron got off the woman. Salma Hayek wrapped her arms around the man's waist, leaning against his broad chest. "You were amazing! The news is full of praise for Dawn Group, calling you the next Louis B. Mayer and Howard Hughes of Hollywood!"
Aaron grimaced. "Louis B. Mayer, maybe, but Howard Hughes? What's that about? I wasn't born a rich kid."
Salma Hayek smiled. "Because you're always in the news with scandals. All the young, beautiful, and sexy actresses in Hollywood have some kind of entanglement with you."
"Alright..."
In eastern Texas, near Louisiana, lies the headquarters of Angel Security Company.
Jack Wells had just returned to his office from the training ground when Angel Company received a visitor!
"Who's here to see me?"
"The eldest son of former President George Bush, George W. Bush Jr.!"
Although Jack Wells didn't know why the man wanted to see him, he knew he had to go meet him first...
The next day, Jack Wells flew straight back to Los Angeles.
That afternoon, at the Angel Theater in West Hollywood, Aaron arrived after receiving a call. "What's going on?"
"Yesterday, I met someone I think you'll be interested in!"
"Who?"
"The son of our former President George Bush, George W. Bush Jr. He's planning to run for Governor of Texas next year and wants your support!"
Aaron Anderson is now the owner of the Houston Rockets, and a Hollywood tycoon, a veritable billionaire.
"George W. Bush, huh?" Aaron was intrigued. Running for Governor of Texas, interesting.
"He actually came to you?"
Jack Wells shrugged. "My relationship with you isn't a secret, and I'm also employed by the Houston Rockets."
"George W. Bush Jr. is currently a shareholder and one of the owners of the Texas Rangers in MLB, involved in the team's management."
The Bush family is one of the oldest oil families in Texas!
Aaron smiled. "We can definitely support him. It's just money, right?"
Jack Wells nodded. "If he's elected governor, he'll give the Texas police training contract to Angel Company."
"If possible, some of the training for the Texas National Guard could also be included!"
Aaron tapped his fingers on the table. "Since Clinton took office, to support his information superhighway plan, he's significantly increased taxes, raising the top individual income tax bracket from 31% to 39.6%, and the corporate income tax from 34% to 35%."
"Texas has always been a low-tax state. In the future, we might have more industries in Texas. Fully supporting George W. Bush Jr. is a good idea!"
"Oh, right," Jack Wells seemed to remember something else. "If you're interested, he can also sell you shares of the Texas Rangers, helping you take control of the baseball team."
"It's just that the Arlington baseball team hasn't been doing well for many years. However, Arlington is building a new baseball stadium, which will be handed over to the Texas Rangers next year!"
The Texas Rangers' original home field was Arlington Stadium. The newly built stadium is named Globe Life Park in Arlington.
Aaron waved his hand. "How many shares of the Texas Rangers does he even own? Just a small shareholder."
"I'm not interested in being a small shareholder of the club. Being the controlling shareholder is better."
"Since he wants to be governor, relying on his family's political resources, the possibility is high. We can be generous with the funding!"
"Okay, I understand," Jack Wells spends a lot of time in Texas now. There's nothing wrong with becoming a supporter of the Bush family.
Afterward, Jack Wells sighed. "Because of the retirement of the league's number one player, Michael Jordan, the loss to the NBA is not small. Attendance and ratings have both declined."
"And the league's GG and sponsorships have also been affected."
"Hmm, is it already showing? The NBA regular season has only started for three weeks," Aaron certainly knew the impact of Michael Jordan's retirement, but he didn't expect it to be so rapid.
Jack Wells smiled wryly. "It's showing. The NBA losing Michael Jordan is too big of a loss!"
That night, at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Aaron attended a reception and ran into Tom Rothman, the president of Samuel Goldwyn Films.
"I never expected that Dawn would want to acquire Samuel Goldwyn Films?"
Tom Rothman smiled. He had always thought it would be one of the Big Six film studios.
Aaron shrugged. "Samuel Goldwyn Films merging into Dawn is a good choice, don't you think?"
Tom Rothman raised his glass and clinked it against Aaron's, then changed the subject. "I heard Barry Diller has offered $9.5 billion for Paramount Communications. I wonder if Sumner Redstone at Viacom will continue to raise the price?"
"Definitely. Sumner Redstone quickly facilitated the merger of Viacom and Blockbuster, simply because he valued Blockbuster's massive cash flow."
Aaron was very decisive. "With Sumner Redstone's emphasis on content, he's determined to acquire Paramount!"
Tom Rothman was stunned for a moment. "Aaron, it seems you're more optimistic about Sumner Redstone?"
Aaron turned his head and saw Harrison Ford not far away. The action movie he starred in this year, 'The Fugitive,' grossed a good $170 million in North America.
Counting the international market, 'The Fugitive' had a global box office of $350 million. Look at works like 'Speed,' 'Cliffhanger,' and 'The Mask of Zorro,' they're all action movies!
"It should be soon. The outcome of who gets Paramount will be out soon," Aaron retracted his gaze.
"Whether it's Barry Diller or Sumner Redstone, whoever controls Paramount, it's not a problem for Dawn."
This was Aaron's confidence. Dawn was not at all inferior to the Big Six studios in content production!
Tom Rothman glanced at Aaron. Dawn certainly had the confidence.
