HP Approaches the Magic World
Chapter Thirteen Hogwarts: A Dream
There is nothing special about Hufflepuff's common room, except that it is very large. I heard from senior students that Hufflepuff's common room is twice as big as other houses, but Jon didn't want to understand what this means.
What to be proud of.
The common room of the Badger Court is located on the basement floor, very close to the kitchen, and not far away is the entrance to the Slytherin common room. It is said that badgers are the natural enemies of snakes, but now it seems that this is not so true.
"Don't be afraid of Slytherins, badgers will never be afraid of snakes!"
When passing by the Slytherin team, Jon heard the Hufflepuff prefect say, to which he could only smile.
It doesn’t matter if you’re not afraid, but the lion cubs usually fight with snakes, and Hufflepuff has basically no sense of presence in the original novel.
The entrance to the common room is a still life painting above the corridor. To enter the common room, you need to knock the correct barrel according to the rhythm of "Helga Hufflepuff".
After entering, there is a round, low-ceilinged room with a faint earthy fragrance. The room is filled with yellow curtains and filled with many cushioned sofas and chairs.
The passage from the lounge to the dormitory is made up of wine barrel-like ornaments. There are fourteen in total, which are arranged on both sides of the fireplace, leading to the boys' dormitory and the girls' dormitory. There is a picture of a smiling middle-aged witch hanging on the fireplace.
There is a portrait, and below the portrait is a silver nameplate with three lines of cursive characters engraved on it.
"Helga Hufflepuff (964-1032)"
"One of the greatest witches in British magical history"
"I want to teach many people and treat them all equally."
Jon stood in front of the portrait and looked at the legendary witch. Her eyes were green, just like Jon's, which made Jon feel a strange familiarity.
It seems like it was originally supposed to be like this.
really weird.
"Jon, why don't you go and rest? Tomorrow is the weekend, I think you can have a good sleep."
Cedric's voice came from behind, which gave Jon a headache.
This good old man is good at everything, but his inexplicable love and concern for others is really annoying.
But he couldn't say that Cedric was wrong. As the old Chinese saying goes, you can't hit someone with a smiling face. This is especially true in Britain where aristocratic etiquette is important.
"Thank you, I think I'll go find my dormitory now."
Jon nodded slightly towards the portrait, then turned around and said a few words to Cedric, then got into the barrel to the left of the portrait.
In the common room, the portrait of Hufflepuff smiled gently as always, just like the Hufflepuff school.
Hufflepuff's student dormitory accommodates four people to a room, but each person's space is separated by itself. There are thick bed curtains and curtains in the middle. In short, everyone is guaranteed to have their own space.
The interior of the space is arranged like a small tent. The beds inside are somewhat similar to Jon's bunk beds in his previous life, except that this bed is lower and the table is not under the bed, but on the side. Under the bed is a row of storage
The cabinet is perfect for storing things.
The curtains at the entrance seemed to be decorated with a simple magic spell, which greatly improved the privacy of this space. Jon was very satisfied with this.
The small suitcase has been placed next to the table under the bed. Jon opened the suitcase and placed his textbooks, clothes and crucibles in the locker. The small space looked bright under the candlelight.
Quiet outside.
After sorting these things and putting away the quills and pens respectively, Jon took off his clothes and climbed into bed.
Tomorrow is the weekend, so I can have a good sleep.
…
…
Jon stretched himself, and the sunlight in front of his eyes was a little dazzling, which made him feel a little uncomfortable.
The next second, he reacted and quickly lowered his head to look down.
He was lying on the recliner, fully clothed in a set of snug robes, and holding a book called "Basic Introduction to Charms" in his hand. He looked like he fell asleep while reading it.
Everything seemed normal except for Jon who was unusually surprised.
Have you... traveled through time again?
He stood up from the recliner seriously and tried to pull out the wand from the ring on his hand, but there was nothing on his index finger. Then he raised his hand again. Although these hands were also young and smooth, they were not Jon's own at all.
hand.
It wasn't until he thought for a long time that he noticed the old lady sitting on the sofa opposite.
The old man with a somewhat familiar face held the tea cup and looked at Jon with a searching look in his eyes: "I knew you could come in."
Jon was stunned for a moment, then reacted and asked tentatively: "Are you...that one?"
"Who?" the old lady asked calmly: "If you are talking about the one hanging in the Hufflepuff common room, it is me."
Jon's mind seemed to be disconnected for a moment. He smiled awkwardly, but felt that it was not polite to smile like this: "Then you asked me to come..."
"Oh, it's nothing. I haven't seen my descendants for a long time. I always want to take a look at you. The Hufflepuff children always like to go to Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. This group of
You're such a thoughtful little guy, you even sold your old house... You are the first Hufflepuff to appear in the past hundred years." The old witch, Helga Hufflepuff, committed suicide in front of Jon.
Gu Zi talked for a long time, and the amount of information in his words was overwhelming: "However, it seems that you don't know me. Why, has the Hufflepuff family fallen to this point? I know that the old house has been sold.
But you didn’t even leave a portrait of me?”
…
Jon felt that he was dreaming. In fact, according to what the witch Hufflepuff said, he was indeed dreaming.
This is a blood curse. Hufflepuff left a soul on all the portraits he left in Hogwarts. Unlike Voldemort's way of splitting the soul when he made Horcruxes, this legacy is only in the body.
The remnant left behind after death inherits all memories, and is preserved with the help of the unique magic on the portrait. It is an extremely profound magic.
"But the other three founders did not leave their souls. Salazar left the school. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw believed that their spirits could be passed on to future generations, but in fact neither did Ravenclaw.
Descendants."
Helga also poured a cup of tea for Jon. No one had come to the portrait space to talk to her for a long time, and the legendary witch seemed a bit talkative.
Jon showed the most qualified qualities of a listener. He listened silently to the old lady's words, as if he were accompanying his grandmother, and occasionally smiled and chimed in.
He is very good at pleasing old ladies.
Of course, he was still thinking about other things in his mind, such as writing a book after waking up.
Since Lockhart's book about the liar was selling well, then my book about the legendary witch should be selling better.
How about the name, just "Hogwarts: A Dream"?
