HP Approaches the Magic World

Chapter 39 You are the body of a greedy unicorn

The magic glasses finally responded, but Jon was not so happy.

Just by seeing this speech, you knew that this was not a simple magic item. Jon did not feel that he could master and use the magic item left by a legendary wizard of Rowena's level now.

Medieval grammar and the use of runes are knowledge that still needs to be learned.

Unexpectedly, after all these years, I can still experience the strenuous feeling of learning a foreign language.

Putting his glasses into his pocket, Jon frowned as he felt the gradually fading magic fluctuations on them.

I always feel that these glasses will not be such a simple thing.

However, for the study of grammar, you can buy some related books after returning home, but you cannot also buy books for the study of runes.

Neither his aunt nor his grandmother Jon wanted to cause trouble. His mother did know this kind of magic writing, but now that she was pregnant, Jon couldn't always bother her.

If only I could look at those notes from Ravenclaw House.

"No, why did you forget this?"

Jon patted his head and reached out to press the wall in front of him.

"I need to find a place to hide something."

After a while, a door opened in front of Jon.

Behind the door is the place that Jon has always known about but never went to. There is a Horcrux placed there.

But Jon didn't open this door for the Ravenclaw diadem, he did it for the books and notes thrown here by the former students.

With so many books, there is always one that suits you.

Jon crossed the threshold and the door closed automatically behind him.

The place was as big as a church, and the surrounding scenery looked like a city. Those high walls were made up of thousands of things hidden by students who were no longer alive.

Jon was strolling around here. He passed by the giant monster specimen and saw a tall mirror standing in the corner, covered by a dark red satin, with only an empty corner exposed.

Jon was about to move over, then paused.

The Mirror of Erised is a very advanced magic item, but he doesn't really want to see his desires.

Human desire is the ugliest thing, and Jon doesn't want to see what his desire is.

Isn’t his goal clear anyway?

Jon walked in the other direction, his footsteps echoing among the towering garbage piles, bottles, hats, boxes, chairs, books, weapons, brooms, bats...

"Anyway, it's just not easy to find." Jon murmured to himself: "This one isn't...and this one isn't either..."

He walked deeper and deeper into the maze composed of these messy things, and the only sounds in his ears were his own breathing and footsteps, which sounded like someone was following him.

The notes on the bookshelf were all about transfiguration and spells. Jon even saw some manuscripts about evil magic experiments, but he couldn't find the notes about runes.

How disliked is this course by students?!

After searching for a long time, Jon only found two old rune textbooks with some notes written on them. However, in Jon's opinion, it was better than nothing.

"Forget it, I won't look for it anymore."

After searching for so long, Jon's waist was sore.

Two books should be enough for him to get started with the magic text course by himself. There will always be other ways to learn things later, and he can choose elective courses in the third grade.

Time always passes quickly when you are focused. By the time Jon returned to the dormitory, it was already light.

"I always feel like I don't have enough time..."

Even though I haven't learned anything yet, the semester has passed in the blink of an eye.

After lying on the bed for a while, Jon got up from the bed again.

I'm so energetic that I can't sleep.

As I said before, time flies by.

It was December in the blink of an eye, and Jon's night tours were no longer limited to the castle.

Hogwarts is so big, there are patrols inside the castle, but no one patrols outside, and with the Disguise Curse, it is relatively safer.

And as long as you wrap yourself up tightly, the cold won't be able to catch up with Jon.

Hagrid, the warden of the hunting ground, has been very troubled recently. He doesn't know why, but there are always a few unicorns living in the Forbidden Forest that break away from the group and run out of the Forbidden Forest. During this time, he goes out to patrol every night.

Watching Hagrid's figure pass by him, Jon, who was hidden under the Illusion Charm, tiptoed in the opposite direction to Hagrid.

He is the culprit behind the recent case of unicorns escaping from the Forbidden Forest... Of course, he was not just doing it for fun.

The magic circle that Helga asked Jon to prepare needs to establish a magic link to Hogwarts, so some relatively precious magic materials are needed to stabilize the magic circle. The rest are easy to get.

Only the last item, the unicorn hair, is more difficult to get.

It's not that Jon has never thought about spending money to buy it, but the unicorn hair circulating on the market is the hair obtained after the death of unicorns, and there is no way to meet Jon's requirements.

On the list Helga gave Jon, it was clearly written:

The three unicorns have two hairs each on their foreheads and tails, making a total of twelve hairs.

It was not impossible to buy the hair of living unicorns, but after Jon wrote to an illegal shop in Knockturn Alley based on the gossip he got, he gave up the idea completely.

For ten Galleons a stick, they might as well have robbed Gringotts!

In the end, Jon, who was cash-strapped, had no choice but to target the unicorns in the Forbidden Forest. He first dug out some tubers from an unknown valley in the Forbidden Forest according to Helga's description - they had no medicinal value.

Value, but unicorns like to eat it very much.

Helga was very familiar with the Forbidden Forest of Hogwarts. Jon didn't even expend any effort to find the kind of tubers in this primitive jungle. These tubers were buried under the rocks, making it difficult for unicorns to find them.

Get them out.

Jon borrowed some small tools, dug six fist-sized tubers, added a little bit of hallucinogenic herbs into them, and then brought down two unicorns in the past few days.

It was like the unicorns were playing a joke on him. Every night the two unicorns took turns being lured out by Jon, and then ate the tubers carefully prepared by Jon.

Today, Jon is not going to continue to operate in the same way as before. He plans to take the initiative and go to the unicorn colony.

This settlement was discovered by following the unicorns when he was looking for them a few days ago. Every night he spread the scent of tubers on the way to the settlement, but the unicorns were not stupid and were attracted.

It's always those two.

There aren't many tubers in winter, but if this continues, there won't be any tubers left.

"You are the one!"

Jon looked at a lagging unicorn and waved the wand in his hand gently.
