HP Approaches the Magic World
Chapter 792
It was a dark, overcast day.
When they came out of the house wrapped in cloaks, a special Ministry of Magic car was waiting in the front yard. This car Harry had once ridden in.
"Fortunately, dad can send us a car."
Ron said happily and stretched his limbs comfortably.
The car drove briskly away from the Burrow, and Bill and Fleur waved to them from the kitchen window.
Ron, Harry, Hermione and Ginny were all seated in the spacious, comfortable back seat.
"Don't get used to it, this is just for Harry."
Mr. Weasley turned around and said.
He sat in the front with Mrs. Weasley and the Ministry of Magic driver. The passenger seat next to the driver was considerately widened, like a loveseat.
"He now enjoys first-level security. When he comes to the Leaky Cauldron, he will have to strengthen security for us."
Harry said nothing.
He didn't want to be surrounded by a large number of Aurors while shopping, and he had already stuffed his invisibility cloak in his backpack.
He once thought that since Dumbledore didn't object, the Ministry of Magic wouldn't object either, but now that he thought about it more carefully, he wasn't sure whether the Ministry of Magic knew that he had an invisibility cloak.
"You're here."
After a while, the driver said, this was the first thing he said.
He slowed down onto Charing Cross Road and stopped outside the Leaky Cauldron.
"I'll wait for you to come back. Do you know how long it will take?"
"About two hours."
Mr. Weasley said: "Ah, great, he's here!"
Harry also looked out through the car window like Mr. Weasley.
His heart suddenly jumped for joy. There was no Auror waiting outside the bar, but the big, black-bearded Hagrid. He was wearing a long beaver fur coat, and his face flashed when he saw Harry.
He smiled happily and ignored the surprised looks of Muggles passing by.
"Harry!"
He said in a rough voice that as soon as Harry got out of the car, Hagrid pulled him into his arms so hard that his bones were crushed.
"As long as it's happy,"
Harry rubbed his ribs and said with a smile, "I didn't expect 'security' to refer to you!"
"I know... it's just like the past, isn't it? The Ministry of Magic originally wanted to send a group of Aurors, but Dumbledore said I would just come."
Hagrid said proudly, he puffed up his chest and put his thumbs into his pockets, "Okay, let's go in - you please first, Molly, Arthur -"
For the first time in Harry's memory, the Leaky Cauldron looked so deserted and deserted.
The lively crowd in the past disappeared, leaving only the shopkeeper Tom with wrinkles on his face and all his teeth.
As soon as they entered, Tom raised his head hopefully, but before he could speak, Hagrid said solemnly: "I'm just passing by today, Tom, it's Hogwarts business, you know."
Tom nodded glumly and went on wiping his glass.
Harry, Hermione, Hagrid and the Weasleys walked through the pub and came to the dreary little courtyard at the back where the rubbish bins were kept.
Then they stepped through the doorway, stopped and looked around.
Diagon Alley has completely changed.
The colorful display of spell books, potion ingredients and cauldrons that were originally displayed in the window are now invisible, but are completely covered by a large notice posted by the Ministry of Magic.
Most of these intimidating purple notices were enlarged versions of the safety advice in the pamphlets distributed by the Ministry of Magic during the summer, and some contained black-and-white photos of wanted Death Eaters in action.
Bellatrix Lestrange sneered ferociously at the door of the nearby drug store.
Several windows were boarded up, including Florin Fusco's ice cream parlor.
On the other hand, many shabby little stalls suddenly appeared on both sides of the street.
The stall closest to them was set up outside Flourishes and Blotts, under a stained striped awning, with a cardboard sign nailed in front of the stall:
Amulet: Effective against werewolves, dementors and inferi.
A scruffy little wizard was selling a bunch of silver mascots on chains to passers-by, shaking them loudly.
"Madam, would you like to buy one for your little girl?"
As they passed, he called to Mrs. Weasley, glancing leeringly at Ginny, "Protect her pretty neck?"
"If I were on duty..." said Mr. Weasley, glaring angrily at the amulet seller.
"Yes, but don't go around arresting people now, dear, we are very pressed for time."
Mrs. Weasley said: "I think we'd better go to Madam Malkin's robe store first. Hermione needs a new robe.
Ron's school uniform is too short, and a lot of his wrists are exposed. Also, Harry, you definitely need to buy new clothes, you grow up too fast...Okay, everyone, let's go."
"Molly, it wouldn't be appropriate for all of us to go to Madam Malkin's Robe Shop."
Mr. Weasley said, "Why don't we let the three of them follow Hagrid? We can go to Flourish and Blotts Bookstore and buy everyone's textbooks, okay?"
"I don't know what to do," Mrs. Weasley said worriedly. It was obvious that she wanted to finish shopping quickly but also hoped that everyone would not be separated. She was in a dilemma. "Hagrid, do you think-?"
"Don't worry, they'll be fine following me, Molly."
Hagrid comforted him, waving his palm as big as a trash can lid coolly.
Mrs. Weasley didn't seem entirely reassured, but she still separated everyone. She hurried to Flourish and Blotts Bookstore with her husband and Ginny, while Harry, Ron, Hermione and Hagrid went to Mrs. Malkin's robe store.
shop.
Harry noticed that many passers-by had the same troubled and anxious look on their faces as Mrs. Weasley.
"If we all go in, it might be a little crowded."
Hagrid said he stopped outside Madam Malkin's Robe Shop and leaned over to look in the window.
"I'll stand guard outside, okay?"
So, Harry, Ron and Hermione walked into the shop together.
At first glance, the store seemed empty, but as soon as the door closed behind them, they heard a familiar voice coming from behind a row of green and blue ceremonial robes.
"...I'm not a child anymore. You may not have noticed, Mom. I am fully capable of going out to buy things on my own."
Then there was a cooing sound like a hen hatching eggs, and then someone spoke, and Harry recognized it as Mrs. Malkin's voice: "Yes, dear, your mother is right, none of us should be alone now."
Going out for a stroll has nothing to do with being a child or not—"
"Where do you stick that needle? Pay attention!"
A pale, pointy-faced boy with light yellow hair appeared from behind the clothes hanger. He was wearing a set of beautiful dark green robes, with shiny pins on the hems and cuffs.
He strode to the mirror and looked at himself carefully.
After a moment, he noticed the three Harrys standing behind him in the mirror.
