I Am the President of the University

A few points about general education and the development of Guanghua University (free)

The previous chapter has been revised, and a thousand words have been added. There is no charge for more words. Please refresh it and take a look.

Yesterday, I checked the information for an afternoon, and I also downloaded a few papers on Zhiwang, so I delayed the coding time, I am really sorry!

Let's talk about general education.

College programs in the United States can be divided into three categories:

Major requirement

Elective courses

General Education Courses ()

General education courses came into being. Let's say you chose an engineering major, but you are also required to study subjects like literature, English, social sciences, etc. at the same time. This type of course selection method is usually presented in the form of core courses in American universities. That is, in addition to completing the credits of this major, you must also complete courses in other professional fields through electives.

Here, I have to mention the undergraduate education in the United States, which is commonly known as the United States. The education level of Meiben is indeed good, and it is also the first in the world. At present, my country is transitioning from specialized education to general education. Just like socialism with our country's characteristics, we are figuring out a reform of undergraduate education that is suitable for the development of our country's education.

(Don't argue with me, unless you are a major in education. I have checked a lot of information in the past few days, and CNKI has also published a lot of articles, which are definitely more professional than you.)

Undergraduate general education in the United States focuses on students' understanding of global and non-local cultures. The purpose is to enable students to have a broader global perspective, and to provide new perspectives and ideas for dealing with problems and viewing culture.

Here is an example from the University of Chicago.

If Columbia University is a pioneer in general education, then the University of Chicago expanded the two-year system to a four-year system, making the core curriculum preliminary, and also laid the foundation for this American characteristic model.

Today, the University of Chicago, which has become increasingly competitive for admission, has divided its core courses into three categories:

1. Humanities, Civilizations, Arts

2. Natural Science, Physics, Mathematics

3. Social Sciences

And optional foreign language study.

According to the University of Chicago's introduction to the core curriculum, its significance is that students can apply the methods learned in one discipline to another completely different discipline.

This is the reciprocity of knowledge. For example, an engineering student can apply the logic and reasoning methods learned in math and physics classes to solving engineering problems. Even in the future work, the accumulation of knowledge brought by the core courses can solve most of the problems.

By the way, the novel app I'm using recently, [ \\mi\\mi\\reading\\app \\\\ ] supports both Android and Apple phones!

Second, many students who have just entered the university are not ready to accept "specialized" academic courses, so the core curriculum is not only an accumulation process, but also a transitional process.

This is also the unique teaching method of American universities, that is, knowledge and skills are matched with job requirements. Helping students succeed in the workplace is not only about providing the required professional knowledge, but more about cultivating thinking patterns and accumulating experience. This is also the ultimate goal of general education and core courses.

Therefore, while being accepted by American universities, students should not only value their professional knowledge, but more importantly, develop their personality traits and natural potential, and improve their soft skills during their studies.

It can be seen from the above that this undergraduate education system is indeed the best, because it can expand your thinking horizon, think about problems and solve problems from more directions.

Professional education, for example, if you are a literature major, you may have learned one or two entry-level mathematics courses, and you may have no exposure to other physics, astronomy, and art.

When you look at problems or think, you get caught up in limitations.

But why did Peking University Yuanpei's undergraduate education reform fail?

It's obviously not that easy to make a successful transition.

Otherwise, we will not be the only country with characteristic socialism.

First of all, American education is small class education.

There are not many students. A university with 10,000 students has more than 1,000 teachers, or even 2,000 teachers, reaching a ratio of 1:5.

Our country... After all, there is a large population, and everyone who knows it understands.

General education in the United States, for example, student A is very interested in astronomy, or is very interested in ancient Chinese literature, but there is no school in the school, what should I do? The United States will offer a course directly for this student.

Foreign countries attach great importance to general education. In order to allow students to dabble in various fields at the undergraduate level, they should try various disciplines and study both arts and sciences.

Students find their ultimate academic and career direction by experimenting with various fields of study. For example, among the top 30 universities in the United States, only a few schools offer business-related majors for undergraduates, and they are generally comprehensive business majors, but there are almost no sub-specialties such as finance and actuarial science. This is why they believe that it is difficult to accumulate the various knowledge and abilities required by business without practical experience. Students need to study and understand various branches of business before they can further determine their future study and career plans.

Now basically every school in China has a water academy like this... not much to say.

And why domestic failure?

The content will be analyzed later. The other is Guanghua University. If you want to become the world's number one university, you must blaze a path of your own.

Coupled with systematic help, technology and scientific research, I think the possibility is still very large.

Private universities, in fact, are just like companies. It is easy to turn around. Chen Hao can do whatever he wants.

In fact, there is no need to write so complicated, just write all kinds of face slaps and all kinds of cool. But I am a bit obsessive-compulsive, and I have this opening and principal text several years ago. It's the story I've always wanted to write.

In my mind, I think Huaxia should have a university like Guanghua!

There are masters in various fields, the most advanced equipment, and the most advanced education, where students can receive sufficient knowledge. Whether you are poor or rich, there is only one student status.

If you want to do scientific research, start a business, enter the system, or do anything, as long as you don't violate the law, as long as you are a person who contributes to the country, you can do it.

I've written too much, it hurts, the content of a chapter is almost finished, and the takeaway has arrived for an hour. It is estimated that the food is cold, so I went to eat.

ps: This is not to brag about American education. I declare that the author is very patriotic. If I betray my country, I will die!

The other party is really good, we can't wear tinted glasses, we should study with a correct attitude, take the essence and get rid of the dross. You can't have the mind of closing the country, you can be patriotic, but you must be responsible for the country and contribute to the country. Otherwise, what's the difference with a virgin bitch, right?
