I became the master of the alien world
Chapter 14 A Few Questions
Chapter 14 Several Questions
"It does have such an effect, but that's not the reason why I drank it." Gloria admitted this generously.
"Don't worry, if I want to hurt you, I don't have to go to such trouble."
Lancelot was still confused after hearing this, but at least he felt relieved knowing that the witch was not trying to drink his own blood.
"There's still some time before midnight. I have a few questions. You have to answer them truthfully." Gloria said, staring at the boy's thin face.
"Yeah." Lancelot knew that he couldn't leave, and refusing the other party's request would be suicide.
"Very good." Gloria began tapping her fingers on the table again and said, "How much do you know about magic?"
"Knowing nothing." Lancelot gave the answer without thinking.
"What?" The witch looked slightly surprised, "According to the laws of the kingdom, you have reached the age where you can learn magic. At least you must master some of the most basic magic knowledge."
"This is not what I have the final say." There was a trace of bitterness on the boy's face, and then he said: "But I remember that three years ago, Mayor Rob personally tested my qualifications."
"The results of it?"
"Mayor Rob said that I was the most poorly qualified child he had ever seen in his life."
Gloria nodded after hearing this, which was what she expected.
"What about martial arts?" the witch then asked.
The boy didn't say anything, but shook his head in denial again.
"No one wanted to teach me anything or even talk to me."
After receiving Lancelot's answer, the witch sighed.
It stands to reason that martial arts are combat skills that everyone can master, unlike learning magic that has certain threshold requirements.
Lancelot saw Gloria's doubts, hesitated for a few seconds, and finally decided to speak out.
"I have no talent for magic, nor am I suitable for learning martial arts." The boy's face showed a trace of bitterness, and he struggled to squeeze out a few words: "I don't have any talent. I have been like this since I was born."
Gloria saw the corners of the boy's eyes turn slightly red and felt the despair in his words.
But she felt like there was a lump in her throat and couldn't say a word of comfort.
"Ms. Witch, do you have any questions?" The boy pursed his lips and asked.
Gloria not only felt guilty for the boy's tragic situation, but was also surprised by Lancelot's composure that was inconsistent with his age.
"Lancelot, I can understand how you feel." The witch paused and continued: "But things are not what you think. You are originally a very talented child."
Lancelot looked confused when he heard this, but the other person's expression didn't look like he was joking.
"No, not only that, your talent far exceeds that of anyone else."
"Is what you said true?" The boy's eyes widened in surprise, unable to believe his ears.
"It's time to awaken your memory." Gloria said, stood up, gestured to the boy, and said, "Follow me."
Lancelot stood up quickly. Although he was not sure about the current situation, it was wise to follow the witch's wishes.
The boy lowered his head and followed the witch, leaving the living room step by step.
The two of them walked along a huge spiral escalator towards the top of the castle.
The witch took Lancelot to an attic, which was located at the top of the castle.
"Pa!" The witch snapped her fingers, and the wooden door opened in response.
There was a faint light coming from the door, and when Lancelot walked into the room, he realized that it was actually the moonlight coming from the window sill.
Gloria made a gesture to the boy to wait quietly, then walked to the wooden table next to the window sill, bent down, opened the drawer on the left hand side, and took out a transparent sphere.
The witch took a deep breath and exhaled it slowly. The transparent ball left her palm and slowly floated into the air, stopping at the same height as the witch's chest.
At this moment, a magical scene appeared: when the moonlight shined on the surface of the sphere, it did not pass through, but was completely absorbed by the crystal ball. In just a few seconds, a layer of crimson color appeared on the surface of the crystal ball.
The crimson light illuminated the witch's side face even more beautifully, and the boy looked at this scene stupidly.
"Lancelot, come here." Gloria smiled at the boy.
Lancelot suddenly woke up and walked quickly to the crystal ball. He did not notice that the witch's expression became very serious.
"Master Witch, what are we going to do now?"
"Shh, don't make a sound." Gloria stared at the crystal ball, as if waiting for something.
Time passed by minute by second, and it was getting closer and closer to midnight.
Seeing the crimson light becoming more and more intense, Lancelot had an unpleasant premonition in his heart.
I don’t know how much time passed, but finally, some strange patterns began to appear on the surface of the crystal ball, like flowing nebulae constantly changing shapes.
"Be patient." The witch muttered a spell silently, and the crystal ball just stayed in the air. She turned to face Lancelot, ready to say something.
"Lancelot, remember what I'm going to say next. Your talent is definitely not what those stupid guys said. You are special, and you have been that way since you were born."
The witch's face looked particularly rosy under the reflection of the crystal ball, and her tone sounded a little excited.
"But everyone in the town thinks I'm a waste, and the facts confirm this." The boy responded in a calm tone.
In the past three years or so of living in the orphanage, he had already become accustomed to other people's strange looks, and he was also accustomed to this fragile body.
Lancelot's memory seemed to have been cut off by something. He couldn't remember any experiences before he lived in the orphanage. He didn't remember what his parents looked like. He only knew that people in the town said he was an abandoned orphan.
.
Everyone deliberately avoided him, but no one told him why.
Dean Luther and Old Luther kept silent about Lancelot's life experience, as if there was an ulterior secret in it.
"No, you are wrong." Gloria's tone was extremely firm, because no one knew the boy's life experience better than her.
The boy still looked confused. He didn't understand what the witch meant, nor did he understand her intention of letting him come to the castle.
Although Gloria told Lancelot that she could help him become a wizard, talent was always an insurmountable gap for Lancelot.
Suddenly, the crystal ball in the air shook. It no longer emitted the pure crimson light as before, and specific images began to appear on the lustrous surface.
At the witch's signal, Lancelot stared at the crystal ball with all his concentration. He felt that the picture was gradually enlarging, and after a few seconds it occupied the entire sight.
The picture was initially filled with bottomless darkness, and then a light spot appeared in the center. Then the light spot expanded at a speed visible to the naked eye, quickly filling the entire room and sweeping away the surrounding darkness.
